FASHIONABLY MAGICAL

Today we have an extra special guest, ROBYN PETERMAN.

Super funny stories from a person who says everything we want to say out loud. Bet you laugh till you ... well, you know.

FASHIONABLY HOTTER THAN HELL
Book Six, The Hot Damned Series

Welcome to my own personal Hell.
  • Name: Heathcliff.
  • Occupation: Vampyre Warrior—one of the deadliest in the world.
  • I plan. I fight. I win. Always.
  • However, it’s never taken me this damned long to get what I want before.
Only I would be blessed with a Vampyre mate I’d have to chase for two centuries. The chemistry between us is steamy and the sex is sizzling, but I want more—I want it all.
  • Now just as I’m finally wearing Raquel down, I find I have competition—not for my mate's hand—but for her very existence.
Raquel may run and she may hide, but she is mine and I will no longer take no for an answer. Whatever is in the way between us doesn’t matter. We were made for each other.
  • Nothing anyone can do will change that simple fact…except maybe the Trolls...or the Wraiths...or the reclusive, insane Vampyre sister of my King who wants to drink my mate dry for reasons no one will freakin’ explain to me.
Damn it, I thought the chase was difficult…keeping Raquel alive might prove to be my undoing.

ANGI: Last year I asked “How often to you get lost in a story?” Is your answer still true?
ROBYN: Yep, it is!! All the time. Writing is my job (that I love) and reading is my hobby!!

ANGI: Hugh Jackman or Chris Pine?
ROBYN: Hugh Jackman.

ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
ROBYN: Every mother I know. Raising kids is the hardest and best job I’ve ever had. Hats off to all the moms in the world.

ANGI: What's your most favorite thing to do in your state?
ROBYN: I live in Kentucky and we are known for horse racing and bourbon…I’ll leave it at that. However, I’ll add that I’m a crappy drinker.

ANGI: What’s your favorite meal?
ROBYN: My mom’s eggplant parmigiana. I would eat my own body weight in that!!

ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
ROBYN: Heathcliff is strong, but flawed. I find total perfection boring. He’s also hotter than Satan’s underpants and that always helps…LOL

ANGI: Sand or Snow?
ROBYN: Definitely sand. I hate being cold.

ANGI: What might we find in your heroine's purse?
ROBYN: Raquel’s purse would be filled with Anique Goutal perfume, Chanel lipstick and a few daggers.

ANGI: Superman or Batman?
ROBYN: Batman. The Bat-mobile is hot.

ANGI: Would you rather be in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
ROBYN: As long as there are Vampyres or Werewolfs in it, I’d take either.

ANGI: What’s your favorite rerun on television?
ROBYN: I like Friends or Spongebob. Not sure what that says about me, but I’ll go with it.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
ROBYN: That’s a hard one for me. If I had to narrow it to a few, I’d say Sense and Sensibility, This is Spinal Tap, Happy Texas and Anchorman.

ANGI: What drinks or snacks are always on your desk when you’re writing?
ROBYN: Coke Zero Cherry with a straw and tons of ice!

ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
ROBYN: Kathy Bates in Misery!!!!

ANGI: Hiking Boots or Dancing Heels?
ROBYN: Hiking boots during the week. Dancing shoes on the weekend!

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: What’s one thing from your bucket list?
ROBYN’S GOTTA ANSWER: I want to take a cooking class in France or Italy. It would combine traveling and eating—two of my favorite things.

Vampyres don’t exist. They absolutely do not exist.

At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead?

Now I’m a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren’t bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I’m stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who’s teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator.

To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s possibly deadly. For real dead. Permanent death isn’t on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I’m his, it’s easier said than done. Like THAT’S not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I’m some sort of Chosen One.
Holy Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride.

Planning my own wedding should mean I’m having the time of my life…not defending it every time I turn around. Dragons, feral Wolves and Were Cows…I mean who in the hell knew Were Cows even existed?

All I wanna do is marry Hank, have 2.5 beautiful little Werewolf babies and live happily ever after while having sex on a very regular basis. Oh…and I still want to shoot stuff occasionally.
Apparently no one got the memo.

Instead of complaining about the price of flowers, cakes and the fact that my gay Vampyre BFF, Dwayne insists on wearing a dress at my nuptials, I’m locked and loaded trying to ascertain who wants my ass six feet under. With Hank at my side and some surprising allies at our disposal, we will take on the bad dudes…one bloody clusterhump of a sucktastic battle at a time.

No one ever said the Werewolf life was going to be easy, but this week we couldn’t catch a break if it bit us in the ass…

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal. The animals in the area are convinced I'm the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I'm his mate. Now apparently I'm slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?

If they think I'm the right witch for the job, they've swallowed some bad brew.

Jan Schliesman: How often do you Get Lost In A Story?
Lori Foster: Writing-wise, pretty much every day. Only on those rare occasions, like holidays or emergencies, do I skip writing. I feel somewhat bereft without it.
If we’re talking reading...not nearly as often. I do love to read, but I also spending time with hubby so when I’m not writing we’re often heading off to the movie theater. I probably only average reading 8 books a year.

Jan: How did you catch the writing bug?
Lori: Years ago, long before I was even a reader, I got very sick and was confined to a bed. To help me pass the time, my sister brought me over a paperbag filled with romances - and I immediately got hooked. I’d never read romance! The books I had read (school assigned) had never even come close to instilling a love of reading. But from the very first romance I was hooked. I was only a voracious reader for a year or so before I tried my hand at writing. It still took me 5 years (and more than 10 books) to finally sell one, but I’ve never looked back!

Jan: How important is flexibility to an author these days?
Lori: I’m sure it depends on the author. I’m a creature of habit so I like to do the same thing, the same way, day after day. Chaos around me is fine, as long as it doesn’t interrupt my schedule too much. However, back when I was brand new at this, my 3 sons still lived at home and there was no such thing as a set writing schedule because, as a mom, my schedule was based around whatever they needed. I still made it work. Over the years I’ve written in many places, like the airport, a hotel, in my car, etc... to meet a deadline. I can do it - doesn’t mean I want to. ::grin::

Jan: What was the best advice you were ever given by another editor or author?
Lori: To write what I wanted to write without any thought to selling. Very rarely can you target the market. And if you, and you’re successful...then what? You’re forever committed to writing books that you don’t LOVE writing. Being published is awesome - I’d never say otherwise. It’s also hard work, regardless of how you enjoy it. (But it’s definitely not the same type of “hard work.” I can think of a million jobs that are far, far more difficult.) Writing is in large part awesome because I get to do what I enjoy doing, instead of working just for pay. I’ve worked for pay. My husband worked for pay. Being a published writer, for me, is better. ::grin::

Jan: You’ve been instrumental in pulling authors together for worthy causes. Tell us about the Animal Adoption Foundation.
Lori: I LOVE the AAF. It’s amazing. A very friendly, caring no-kill animal shelter, rescuing animals and finding them loving homes. It breaks my heart - like, literally makes my heart hurt - to think of any animal alone, hungry, cold, afraid. I wish I could save them all. I can’t, so I help support my local shelter. www.AAFPets.org. Each year I write one book that I dedicate to them. All advance and royalties go directly to the shelter. In an effort to do even more, my husband and I catch feral cats, get them spayed or neutered, get any shots they need, then turn them loose again. They tend to hang out on our wrap-around porch (currently 20 or so) and twice a day we fill numerous dishes with cat food, put water in the heated dish so it doesn’t freeze, and we keep hay-filled shelters available for them so they can get out of the cold. Every so often, a feral will sneak into the house - which is how I’ve ended up with 5 cats. You don’t come to the Foster household if you can’t take a little fur here and there.

Jan: What are you currently reading?
Lori: I told you I don’t read often, but I never miss a Katie McGarry book. I got an early copy of WALK THE EDGE and, like the rest of her books, it’s *amazing.* I just finished a book by Linda Howard/Linda Jones, and before that was a Jill Shalvis book.

Jan: It was love at first sight when I met Mr. Wonderful. How did you meet your hubby and/or do you believe in love at first sight?
Lori: I believe in instant attraction on a very basic level - and if given a chance, it grows into love. I met my hubby on the 3rd day of our sophomore year of high school. We married right out of high school. We’ve been together a long time. I thought I was crazy in love with him when we married, but every year I love him even more. That’s a pretty wonderful thing.

Jan:  If you could live anywhere but Ohio, where would you go?
Lori: Anyone who’s read me could probably answer this: Kentucky. By a lake. Or North Carolina. By a lake. lol. I love being on the lake, and I’ve set many books in KY and NC.

Jan’s GOTTA ASK:
Lori’s GOTTA ANSWER: I LOVE vanilla bean first and foremost. Nothing too exciting for me. But second and third from that is strawberry and peach. In fact, in the summer, one of my favorite treats is vanilla bean ice cream with strawberries or peaches on top. Delicious!

KARILYN BENTLEY'S love of reading stories and preference of sitting in front of a computer at home instead of in a cube, drove her to pen her own works, blending fantasy and romance mixed with a touch of funny. E.E. Burke's Best of the West: Texas Romance from Delores Fossen

Amazon

For Best of the West, I'm thrilled to be hosting bestselling author Delores Fossen, who has a brand new release out today...TEXAS ON MY MIND.

Air force Captain Riley McCord has come home on medical leave to find one heck of a welcome reception. Every unattached woman in Spring Hill, Texas, wants to nurse him back to health. That includes his childhood friend Claire Davidson—the only person who understands how damaged he really feels. In high school, she chose his best friend over him. According to Riley's rules, that should make her off-limits forever. But when Claire suggests a no-strings fling, he can't refuse.

Here's a brief excerpt:

CHAPTER ONE

There were two women in Captain Riley McCord’s bed. Women wearing cutoff shorts, skinny tops and flip-flops.
Riley blinked a couple of times to make sure they weren’t by-products of his pain meds and bone-deep exhaustion. Nope. They were real enough because he could hear them breathing.
    See them breathing, too.
The lamp on the nightstand was on, the milky-yellow light spilling over them. Their tops holding in those C-cups were doing plenty of moving with each breath they took.
He caught a glimpse of a nipple.
If he’d still been a teenager, Riley might have considered having two women in his bed a dream come true. Especially in this room. He’d grown up in this house, had had plenty of fantasies in that very bed. But he was thirty-one now, and with his shoulder throbbing like an abscessed tooth, taking on two women didn’t fall into fantasy territory. More like suicide.
Besides, man-rule number two applied here: don’t do anything half-assed. Anything he attempted right now would be significantly less than half and would make an ass out of him.
    Who the hell were they?
And why were they there in his house, in his bed?

Want more? Here's the link to the rest of Chapter One: http://www.deloresfossen.com/chapter-one.html

USA Today bestselling author, Delores Fossen, is a former Air Force officer who’s sold over 100 novels. She's received the Booksellers' Best Award for romantic suspense, the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award and was a finalist for the prestigious RITA® Award. In addition, she's had nearly a hundred short stories and articles published in national magazines.

Find out more or follow Delores:

EE: What has been the most challenging part of writing books?
Delores: The hours needed to write and build a career. When I first started, I had no idea how much time it would take, but it really is a labor of love. I LOVE what I do, and I always hope that love shows through in the stories I write.

EE: How did you come up with the idea for your book?
Delores: I wanted to write a story from my “roots.” The hero, Riley McCord, is an Air Force officer who’s come home to his family’s ranch. I was also in the Air Force and was raised on a ranch so it seemed like the perfect mix for a book.

EE: What’s the first book you remember reading?
Delores: I was sick a lot as a child and learned to read early because I spent so much time in bed. I honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t read, but the book that sticks out in my mind was THE GHOST OF DIBBLE HOLLOW. I’m sure I was too young to be reading it because it was spooky and gave me nightmares, but I loved it. I re-read it so many times that the book fell apart.

EE: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
Delores: My husband, of course. He’s a former Top Gun, a wonderful husband/father and a great source of inspiration. We met in a simulated war exercise at a base in England and have been together for over thirty years. Yes, thirty!

EE: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
Delores: Action adventure, but I don’t mind some fairy tale mixed in. I love the Avengers, X-Men, Jack Reacher and the Mission Impossible movies. Basically, if the movie moves fast, I’ll probably enjoy it.

EE: What is your biggest vice?
Delores: Hands down, popcorn. I can’t resist it, and I think my love of going to the movies is actually a love of popcorn. And no, I don’t eat the healthy stuff. I drown it in salt, butter and other things bad for me.

EE: If you were given a chance to travel to the past where would you go?
Delores: To eighteenth century Scotland to visit my ancestors. I’m obsessed with genealogy, and my DNA is about 70% Scottish. I have so many questions but one biggie: why did you come to the Colonies? I was able to visit my ancestral lands about seven months ago, and it’s so beautiful that I can’t imagine why they left.

Today, Delores is giving away two copies of TEXAS ON MY MIND (mailed in U.S. only) and 2 ebook copies of her novella, WHAT HAPPENS ON THE RANCE (either Kindle or Nook). The novella is a prequel to the new release.
