One thing that I think sets this series apart is how the women are recruited, by the railroad. They get on a train with no idea who they will marry. I read ever...I love all the mail-order bride books. I read everything I can get my hands on. I can only imagine all the various reasons why a woman would leave all she has known to go into the arms of a man she has never met, and just how often did it REALLY work out? She might be running from danger, sadness, a broken heart, lack of money for just the basics. She might find herself with a good, God-fearing man or she might end up with an abusive man, or a drunk etc. What does sadden me, when reading, is we are given (normally) a positive outlook. I would like to see a book where the woman wasn't so lucky. How did she handle that? What if she arrived with a child and the man was abusive to her child. What would she do? I wouldn't mind her being "saved" and finding true love; but, I would like to see what would happen. Am I the only one that wonders this?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10192133708721471722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-25497750961809558532016-03-28T19:52:54.391-04:002016-03-28T19:52:54.391-04:00Love mailorder brides they give up everything to r...Love mailorder brides they give up everything to rely on a man they dont know in hopes of a better future.carlaganellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04480106340203414095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-13871540838189622742016-03-28T19:23:30.661-04:002016-03-28T19:23:30.661-04:00sometimes; can be interestingsometimes; can be interestingbn100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-3277660659176689702016-03-28T18:10:31.839-04:002016-03-28T18:10:31.839-04:00The unknown is very exciting I try to live my life...The unknown is very exciting I try to live my life on the edge to get thats thrill Natasha Persaudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10109925624071649737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-85441334152430679442016-03-28T16:35:11.315-04:002016-03-28T16:35:11.315-04:00Yes. .the courage to head into the unknown to find...Yes. .the courage to head into the unknown to find a family and loveDawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06451130806255901907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-81657361362499643592016-03-28T13:17:10.450-04:002016-03-28T13:17:10.450-04:00I do enjoy reading Mail Order Bride books... seein...I do enjoy reading Mail Order Bride books... seeing the strength they have to go into the unknown...following their journeys to their HEAs!Colleen C.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-71767319720221750562016-03-28T12:23:23.001-04:002016-03-28T12:23:23.001-04:00I do enjoy them. I find it very interesting, particularly the variety of women - their background, their reasons to jump into the unknown and agree to marry someone they don't know at all... their strength (because I believe they had to be strong women, somehow), and the bits and pieces of history woven into those stories you and the others write about.<br />I'm looking forward to discover this new series of yours.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04880638535934581587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417651694294092310.post-10442054222877746532016-03-28T08:46:34.199-04:002016-03-28T08:46:34.199-04:00Thank you, Nicole.
