Get Lost Again with Alexandra Hawkins!!!

Get Lost in This Story…

Dashing, decadent, and deliciously seductive, the notorious Lords of Vice indulge their every desire—from dusk until dawn…

Christopher Courtland, Earl of Vanewright—known around London as “Vane”—is the very picture of a rich, handsome ladies’ man. Why shackle himself to just one lady when he’s free to sample them all? In spite of his own mother’s attempts at matchmaking, Vane has sworn to stay single. Until he has a chance run-in with Miss Isabel Thorne…

A modest and refined beauty, Isabel is a lot more brazen than she appears. When a pickpocket tries to make away with Vane’s bejeweled snuffbox, Isabel attempts to thwart his escape…and manages to steal Vane’s heart. But the harder he tries to seduce the sharp-tongued, strong-willed Isabel, the more she resists. Now it’s up to this tried-and-true bachelor to find a new way to play the game…or risk losing the one woman who’s ever captured his heart.

Today, we welcome back historical romance author Alexandra Hawkins to the blog.  Alexandra is an unrepentant Anglophile who discovered romance novels as a teenager and knew that one day she would be writing her own.  In “The Lords of Vice” series, she has combined her love of English history, mythology, and romance to create sensual character-driven stories that, she hopes, will touch readers’ hearts.  She lives in Georgia with her husband and three children.

So let’s learn more about Alexandra!

Heather: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
Alexandra:  It depends on the genre.  However, Amadeus is one of my favorites.

Heather: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
Alexandra:  Beauty and the Beast.

Heather: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
Alexandra:  I’ve always loved the old Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Heather: What was the first story you remember writing?
Alexandra:  I recall writing a crazy adventure story with my best friend that involved the Bay City Rollers.  What can I say?  We were young and impressionable.  We even recorded it on a cassette player.  I don’t remember much about the story, but I do remember that my friend was so caught up in the drama of the scene that she slapped me across the face.

Heather: If you couldn’t be a writer anymore, what profession would you take up?
Alexandra:  When I was child, my passion for painting and drawing rivaled my interest in writing.  If I had to switch professions, it would be something related to the arts.

Heather: What do you do to unwind and relax?
Alexandra:  I catch up on my reading.  Baking is a creative outlet for me so I like to spend time in the kitchen.  I also like to watch movies and play video games with the family.

Heather: What is something that not a lot of people know about you but you WISH more people COULD know?
Alexandra:  LOL, there is something, but I can’t talk about it.  How’s that for enigmatic answer?  Seriously, when I’m in a position to share, I promise I’ll come back and give you all more details.

Heather: What soundtrack or playlist do you recommend for your current release?
Alexandra:  Anything Vivaldi.  He’s one of my favorite composers and his music complements my series.

Heather: What is your favorite thing about you? J
Alexandra:  My sense of humor.  It’s a little quirky.

HEATHER’S GOTTA ASK – ALEXANDRA’S GOTTA ANSWER  J

Heather:  What has been the most unexpected thing about being a published author?

Alexandra:  Readers’ reactions to my characters.  I’m amazed and humbled by all the wonderful emails that I’ve received over the years.  I’m thrilled fans of the series love the characters as much as I do.

  5. Hi Alexandra! Welcome back to GLIAS and Happy Release Day. My resolution this year is to work on my relationships...our lives have been so hectic for the past 20 months with husband's career and school, my deadlines, and new baby that I seem to have lost touch with almost everyone in my life. I also plan to focus on my relationship with myself--been a little mean to me lately :)

    Have a great new year!

  11. Happy release day! Can't wait to get my hands on it. :D I haven't had too much luck with making resolutions...I tend to forget what I promised to work on halfway through the first month. I think I'm just going for upholding the Golden Rule--you can't go wrong with that.

  13. I agree, Angi. Working at home can be a challenge. I have three teenagers and a husband that runs his business out of the house. There's always something going on here. :)

  20. To lose weight! I know diet is a dirty, dirty word, but I'm saying it. This year I'm going on a diet, and I plan on kicking diet's butt, while losing mine!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sleep . . . I can't tell you how sleep deprived I was in Nov.-December, which probably explains why I wasn't shaking that sinus infection.

Chelsea--Diet seems like a dirty word because it implies denial. I'm not aiming for denial per se, but I need get back to a healthier routine. All good intentions tend to fly out the window during a deadline.

  26. Congrats on the newest release. I'm so looking forward to enjoying it. One of my goals for 2012 is try to do some decluttering around the house and also to work on the TBR pile (only problem with the second itme is is great new books like this one keep coming out to offset any progress getting made) :D Have a wonderful 2012 :)

  27. The story looks like a good one. I do like a romance with a rake who loses his heart. My resolution is to continue to declutter my house and really get rid of everything that we are not using.
