Hold onto your nickers, ladies! The Seduction of Phaeton Black has arrived!

A three day blog party to celebrate the release of Phaeton Black, Paranormal Investigator!

The Seduction of Phaeton Black crosses several genres. It's a steamy Steampunk paranormal romance about an occult detective living in Victorian, London. I think that's like…five or six sub-genres. LOL!

He's the man with the magic touch. A master of deduction and other midnight maneuvers, Phaeton Black is Scotland Yard's secret weapon against things that go bump in the night. His prodigious gifts as a paranormal investigator are as legendary as his skills as a lover, his weakness for wicked women as notorious as his affection for absinthe. But when he's asked to hunt down a fanged femme fatale who drains her victims of blood, he walks right into the arms of the most dangerous woman he's ever known.

She's the devilish Miss Jones. Pressing a knife to his throat and demanding he make love to her––Miss America Jones uses Phaeton as a willing shield against the gang of pirates chasing after her. As dangerous as she is with a derringer tucked in her garter, Miss Jones is not the vampire killer Phaeton is stalking––but she may be just what he needs to crack the case. As the daughter of a Cajun witch, she possess uncanny powers. As a fearless fighter, she can handle anything from Egyptian mummies to Jack the Ripper. But when an ancient evil is unleashed on the world, she could be his only his salvation...or ultimate sacrifice.

An April RT Reviews Top Pick and nominated for the Seal Of Excellence award. Here's what RT editors wrote about The Seduction of Phaeton Black."Throw out everything you think you know about heroes, because Phaeton is like no character you have ever read about before. Readers picking up this fast-paced Steampunk novel should get ready for a very wild ride!"

I think I was born a storyteller. A skill that got me into considerable trouble as a youth until I solved the problem by becoming an advertising creative. And the career did seem to suit as I went on to receive a few national ad awards including the Clio and the New York Art Director’s Club Gold. What more could I ask for? Create my own worlds? Become goddess of my own universe? Yes! So, I began to write fiction. My Victorian Romantic Suspense novel AN AFFAIR WITH MR. KENNEDY won the 2010 Golden Heart and sold to Pocket Books. The steamy Steampunk novel, THE SEDUCTION OF PHAETON BLACK, won the 2010 Romance Through the Ages Erotica Contest and sold to Kensington Brava. I live in Southern California and am currently working on the next adventure for both series.

Miss Vain's Paranormal Fantasy on The Seduction of Phaeton Black"...Captures your heart one delicious scene at a time...a beautifully written love story intertwined with crime, pirates, death, passion, lust, heroism, as well as characters I LOVE."

A Tale of Two Londons: A sneak peek at The Moonstone and Miss Jones. Alarming attacks by strange creatures plague 1889 London, setting the stage for a terrifying alternate future for the city. People and things–well–there's no other way to explain it, appear to be unraveling. With help from the Nightshades, Phaeton and Miss Jones venture into the Outremer to extract the Moonstone and close the rabbit hole between two worlds.

I should warn readers that Phaeton is truly a bad boy. Not a pretend bad boy, he is the real thing! A bad boy is essentially a maverick character. He is often brilliant, eccentric and rather pleased about his badness. Perhaps his upbringing was strange, Phaeton's surely was. When Phaeton was a small boy the demons in the nursery were real, not nightmares! So, the bad boy is likely to be a loner and misunderstood. But he can also charismatic, charming, even sweet––when he wants to be. Name your favorite bad boy from novels, TV or film––the darker the better! A signed copy of The Seduction of Phaeton Black to commenter chosen at random. Can't wait to hear everyones picks!

    1. Hi Elisa!

Phaeton perked right up at the words baited breath!

Finally you get to read the whole book. I suppose Phaeton could have been out earlier, but with two series releasing from different publishers the plan evolved into "let's release a whole mess of books in one year." Lol! This is going to be a wild!

    1. Hi MissMolly,

He was a rascally bad boy! Gerard was perhaps the best thing about the Tomb Raider series, and I did enjoy Angelina Jolie in the lead role as well. A bit too PG for me, but I totally understand why. I mean the story came from a hugely popular game!

  6. Hi Jill,

First of all I loved An Affair With Mr. Kennedy. Zeno was a great hero. For Bad Boys, I ususally say Han Solo, but today I will say Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I loved Spike!

    1. Zeno Kennedy is more of a Mr. Darcy to Phaeton Black's lusty libertine adventurer but they each have their appeal. LOL!

So glad you enjoyed An Affair with MR. Kennedy. Rafe Lewis's story is out the end of August as well as several other Yard men coming along in Fall.

Han Solo and Spike are both memorable bad boys!

  12. Hate to age myself, but my all-time favorite bad boy was Cyril Ritchard's Captain Hook in the Mary Martin Peter Pan. Such elegance and charm! Such pure evil! And the voice! Second choice - Richard Boone as Paladin (also for us old-timers).

    1. There really is a fine line between bad boys, anti-heroes and villains. For me, these characters are fun to write because they constantly surprise me. But then I am drawn to the iconoclastic, bohemian spirit!

  13. I know that this is the same answer I cave on one of your other tour stops, but, he's my fave. Eric Northman from Trueblood is my favorite bad boy.
