Folks, I'm happy to introduce you to a fellow Decadent Publishing author, Jessica Subject! Please help me welcome her to our blog.
WHO IS JESSICA?
Jessica Subject is the author of contemporary and science
fiction romance, ranging from sweet to erotica. In her stories, you could meet
clones, or a sexy alien or two. You may even be transported to another planet
for a romantic rendezvous.
When Jessica isn't reading, writing, or doing dreaded
housework, she likes to get out and walk. Fast. But she just may slow down if
there is a waterfall nearby.
Jessica lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband and two
energetic children. And she loves to hear from her readers.
Jessica is a member of RWA and the Toronto Romance Writers
chapter, EPIC, and Savvy Authors. She blogs weekly at Backward Momentum, and monthly
at Paranormal Romantics.
You can find her at jessicasubject.com
and on twitter @jsubject.
THE STORY BLURB
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS JESSICA?
JESSICA: I get lost in a
story all of the time. Honestly, if I don’t get lost in a story, I often don’t finish it. That goes for
both reading and writing them.
ALEXA: What’s the first book you
remember reading?
JESSICA: Back in grade
school, I remember reading the Mr. Mugs books. They were about an Old English
Sheepdog. I also remember Harriet the Spy, Just As Long As We’re Together, and the Ramona
books.
ALEXA: Fairy Tale or
Action Adventure?
JESSICA: Action
Adventure with a Fairy Tale ending.
ALEXA: Is there a
playlist you'd recommend for reading your latest release?
JESSICA: Yes! Alien
Adoration was actually inspired by the song, Spaceman by Bif Naked. Other songs
in the playlist for this story include Before You by Chantal Kreviazuk,
Breathless by The Corrs, E.T. by Katy Perry, I Could Get Used To This by The
Veronicas, I Do Not Hook Up by Kelly Clarkson, and many more.
JESSICA: In grade seven,
I was part of a writing enrichment program, in which I wrote a romance called “It Starts With A Kiss”.
ALEXA: Be honest, when
reading...do you put yourself in the heroine’s role?
JESSICA: If I enjoy the
story, definitely. I love the story that much more if I feel like I’m a part of it.
ALEXA: What’s the first thing you do
when you finish writing a book?
JESSICA: I do multiple
things depending on what I have time for. I try to mark on Goodreads that I’ve finished with a rating,
and a brief statement about how I felt about the story. If it’s a print book, I re-shelf
it on my bookshelf. And I also try to figure out what I’m going to read next.
Though, sometimes I have that figured out beforehand.
ALEXA: If you were
given a chance to travel to the past where would you go and specifically why?
JESSICA: I would love to
go back to the time of the dinosaurs. Maybe even further back to see the
beginning of life. Those periods of time fascinate me, as everything we know
about them are scientific theories. To actually go back and see if myself would
give concrete knowledge.
ALEXA: What is your
favorite tradition from your childhood that you would love to pass on or did
pass on to your children?
JESSICA: Every year, my
mom makes tourtiรจres (meat pies) for Christmas Eve. They are something
I always look forward to. I need to learn how to make them for my own family.
ALEXA: What's your
favorite kid joke?
JESSICA: Pete and Repeat
went into a store. Pete came out. Who was left?
ALEXA: Got a question for your fans?
JESSICA: What would your first reaction be if you looked out your bedroom window and saw an alien standing on the street?

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for having me on Get Lost in a Story! It's a pleasure to be here. :)
ReplyDeleteAliens? I'm sure I'd run the other way! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletekareninnc at gmail dot com
Thank you, Karen! Depending on what they look like, or whether they're armed, I might, too. :-)
DeleteWelcome to GLIAS Jessica. Best of luck with the releases!
ReplyDelete~Angi
Thank you very much, Angi! It's great to be here. :)
DeleteI'll probably scream and take a pic!
ReplyDeleteLOL As long as you don't frighten it away. Thank you for visiting, May! :)
DeleteI'd start screaming and running.
ReplyDeleteKit3247(at)aol(dot)com
I might do that, too, depending on the look of the alien. Thanks! :)
DeleteI think I'd be thrilled!
ReplyDeletevitajex(at)aol(dot)com
Me, too, if it was anything like the aliens I write about. *grins* Thanks for your support! :)
DeleteI think I was seeing things and going crazy. I am not a big believer in aliens but my husband is. I am one who has to see something to believe. Probably would do some screaming though. I will be entering under the name of Virginia
ReplyDeleteHi Virginia! I think anyone would be skeptical at first, unless they're were previous signs that they might meet an alien. Thank you!
DeleteI'm pretty sure my jaw would drop & I'd probably rub my eyes & take another look. Then it'd kinda depend if the alien looked scary and hostile (scream & faint) or interesting.....
ReplyDeleteYes, not something you expect to see. And looks is a big factor to how most would react. Thank you, Linda! :-)
DeleteI am pretty sure that I would think that it was not real at first.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen! I might doubt what I saw, too. :-)
DeleteI would most likely freeze in place and hope it didn't see me. I'm pretty sure I saw a UFO once.
ReplyDeleteHi Clover! Cool! I thought I did, too, but ended up just being spotlights pointed into the sky. :-)
DeleteI'd most likely not believe my eyes, and ask someone else to look.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would be hard to believe at first. Thank you, chey! :-)
