I've never been to Texas, but I do enjoy reading about the locations. Also, the characters all seem to be larger than life & most interesting. Lots of local customs & colloquialisms.

Well, I did grow up in Texas, and the cowboys are always "bigger" and sexier here. I love the weather, today anyway, and it's just plain home for me. I could visit other places, but Texas is where I belong. You can be as country as you want or as urban as you want and still hang with the same crowd.

I like reading about places that I've already been too and since I've visited Texas it's nice to be familiar with it!

I love Texan themed books which speak to the little bit of cowgirl in me. Also, the wide Texan landscape touches my wilderness soul!

I finally have relatives living in Texas so I will get to go soon. I think I like the extremes you can find in Texas. Hot, cold, dry, snow it's all there, just a day away.

I'm already going to the party! You all have made me long for a visit back to TX. I went to college there and also lived in Bedford for a year. I'd kove back in a heartbeat. Now to convince hubby. I love the relaxed lifestyle, the wildflowers, the big skies, the heat, and the huge-hearted, quirky people.

I was in Texas YEARS ago for a short visit but what I "know" about it comes from the novels I have read. The good mannered cowboys and the large ranches and everyone working hard....love it all

I spent a short period of time in Texas and enjoyed my stay there for the most part. It didn't work out because I missed my daughters and grandchildren too much! Otherwise I may have stayed permanently. I lived just outside of San Antonio in a small town called Seguin. Worked at a hospital that bordered on The Riverwalk in San Antonio. Great place! I have not read any of the Texas books but am looking forward to them!
ReplyDeleteThat part of Texas is so pretty. The rolling hill country is just awesome. I love Austin. No mosquitos...because of the bats. But the bats don't bother anything (except the mosquitos LOL).

I have never been to Texas, but who couldn't love Texas after all it provided us with George Strait. Right?? Seriously, I love the photographs I have seen of the landscape. Parts appear barren and remind me of the old west, then others show the beauty. Next would come the cowboys. I love both the rugged and the sophisticated. Also the Texas Rangers and what they stand for. Lastly would be the people and how they appear cautious, but welcoming. I do hope once the children are grown to visit, but until then reading books will be how I visit and enjoy Texas.

My favorite thing about Texas is the landscape! Texas has a little of everything, but the Hill Country is my absolute favorite. It's gorgeous & l love to get out and photograph it.

Had a stopover once in Texas is the closest I've been. Do have a daughter-in-law from Texas. It sure is flat there.

DeleteI met a man from up north Saturday. He was rockin' his borrowed felt hat. Totally into the Texas life. Just visiting, but said he loved it here.
I've been living in Texas for the last 9 1/2 years, plus I went to college here. What I love most about Texas is that we have absolutely EVERYTHING - mountains, ocean, plains, swamp, snow, sun, zoos, amusement parks, theater... You name it, it's in Texas :-D
