Infiltrate Omega Sector with Janie Crouch

INFILTRATION
Omega sector, book 1
Harlequin Intrigue

She never expected to see her old flame again. Or be kidnapped by him.

The wrong place at the wrong time--that's the only way Sophia Reardon could explain her predicament. She wasn't even an FBI field agent and now she was being taken hostage. By her ex-boyfriend Cameron Branson.

The moment Sophia walked into his undercover operation, Cameron warned her that his "employers" would want to break her. So keeping her by his side, pretending not to have feelings for her, was the best way to maintain his role in the dangerous organization, and the only way to keep them both safe. Because if they got their hands on her, she could expose him and his secrets. And then they'd no longer have any reason to keep her around...

JANIE CROUCH loves to read – almost exclusively romance– and has been doing so since middle school. She learned to love Harlequin (Mills & Boon) Romances when she lived in Wales, UK as a preteen, then moved on to a passion for romantic suspense as an adult. Her favorite authors include: Linda Howard, Nora Roberts, and Elizabeth Lowell.

Janie lives with her husband and four children in Virginia, although will be moving to Germany very soon. Her “day job” is teaching public speaking and communication courses at a community college. When she’s not listening to the voices in her head (and even when she is), she enjoys traveling, long-distance running, movie-watching, knitting and adventure/obstacle racing.

LET’S FIND OUT SOME SECRETS
ABOUT OMEGA SECTOR
ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about Omega Sector?
JANIE: My favorite thing about Omega Sector is that it’s a series, which is a first for me. Omega Sector is the link that ties all four books together, but also the books are about the four Branson siblings –three brothers and a sister—who each have ties to Omega in some way. A four-book series allowed me to more fully develop characters and family bonds. Even though each story is complete in itself, I love that characters can show back up in their siblings’ books later!

ANGI: Just how secret is Omega Sector? Does the president know?
JANIE: Omega Sector is a covert, inter-agency task force, but it’s not black ops. Different agencies work together in Omega to get the mission accomplished –think of it as using a machete to cut through red tape. The President would definitely know about Omega, as would many high-ranking officials of other agencies. But a job at Omega is not something you can apply for, you have to be recruited in order to become an agent there.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your hero, Cameron Branson?
JANIE: I love that Cameron is willing to make hard choices in near-impossible situations. He has to be downright ugly sometimes, even to Sophia, to get the job done. And although it cuts him to the bone, he still does it.

ANGI: If you had to pick someone to play him in the movie?
JANIE: Tahmoh Penikett. Yeah, he has a funny name. His cheekbones and abs… not so funny. TV geeks would know him best from Battlestar Galactica or Dollhouse. He has that dangerous air about him that Cameron has.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your heroine Sophia Reardon?
JANIE: I love that she has grit she hasn’t even realized yet. Every time she’s certain she’s been pushed to her limits, she finds even more strength. I think a lot of women are like that: don’t know how much they can handle until they are forced to. Women are often stronger than they give themselves credit for. Sophia is no exception.

ANGI: If you had to pick someone to play her in the movie?
JANIE: Rachel McAdams (from The Notebook and The Time Traveler’s Wife). I love the everyday, girl-next-door quality about her. And she strikes me as the type that would come up swinging, exactly like Sophia does.

ANGI: Without any spoilers… What’s your favorite scene in INFILTRATION?
JANIE: You mean besides the sex on the desk?... :-)

ANGI: Is there a movie that you could compare to INFILTRATION?
JANIE: It’s part Mission Impossible, part Point Break (minus the surfing), with some True Lies thrown in for good measure (and for the name Omega). Great romance and what-the-heck-just-happened action.

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: What inspired the OMEGA SECTOR?
JANIE'S GOTTA ANSWER:  Really, the sense of family is what inspired this series, more than the agency itself. I wanted this series to be about the Bransons who share the gene that make them all great agents, as well as an engrained trust in each other. Cameron’s been undercover a long time when INFILTRATION begins, and it’s wearing on him. But he’s handling it. COUNTERMEASURES (out in January) is about Sawyer, the youngest Branson, who’s the charming playboy of the family. He’s brought to his knees by a sweet scientist he’s called on to protect.

UNTRACEABLE is Juliet’s story –the only sister— who is struggling to come to grips with a brutal attack last time she went undercover. That book will be available in May. And the series wraps up Dylan’s story in LEVERAGE (June), a pilot drawn back into the Omega world when his family needs his help.

So it’s family that inspired the Omega Sector series. The knowledge that No. Matter. What. you know you can trust your family. Especially when they’re as skilled as the Branson siblings.

COUNTERMEASURES
Omega Sector, Book 2
February Harlequin Intrigue

The clock was ticking, the enemy was watching…

At first it looked like a glorified babysitting job: safeguard a scientist while she created a countermeasure to neutralize a dangerous weapon that had fallen into the wrong hands. But when Dr. Megan Fuller's life was threatened, undercover agent Sawyer Branson knew the enemy was closing in. Sticking by Megan 24/7 wasn't something he took lightly, even if Megan didn't seem to appreciate his constant presence. For a man used to getting any woman he wanted, Megan was a challenge he was coming to enjoy. Because beneath her boxy lab coat and pinned-back hair lay a brilliant and beautiful warrior. And before long, Sawyer's determination to save the world was matched only by the sudden need to make Megan his.

JANIE WANTS TO KNOW: How big is your family? Did you come from a big or small family – lots of siblings or maybe just yourself? What’s the perfect size in your opinion?

  1. I have an older sister and brother, younger sister and brother, with me smacked right in the middle. I am really close to my siblings closest to my age, older brother and younger sister. But I would not be me without all of us, so for me, it's perfect just as it is..

  4. Hi Angi and Janie! My father had 13 brothers and sisters...hows that for a large family..smile. As for me, I had a daughter and then a son, which I thought was perfect. Then, when my daughter became ill with MS I became her caregiver and started raising her three boys. She died 3 years ago and my grandsons are now teenagers. I've loved raising them.
Loved reading the book INFILTRATION. Congrats on a wonderful book. Can't wait for the next one.

  5. Small immediate family just one sister.

Ours was good, but I know people who have large families that were great too. I think it all depends on the people to figure out the perfect size.
