NYT Best Selling Author Dianna Love

STOLEN VENGEANCE
Slye Temp Book 6

He's the last man she'll trust and the only one who can save her.

Slye Temp agent Dingo Paddock walked away from rare items recovery specialist Valene Eklund seven years ago to protect her from a deadly organization, but the woman can’t stay out of trouble. Valene hasn’t forgiven Dingo for breaking her heart when he disappeared without a word. The last thing she’ll allow is for him to interfere with her new client, whose contract will dig her out of financial ruin. She’s lucked into a deal that only comes along once, but Dingo believes the price is too high – her life - and now the organization he destroyed to keep her safe has returned to exact vengeance on Dingo. Getting their hands on the one woman Dingo would walk through fire for? Priceless.

If Dingo and Valene can't overcome their past and learn to trust again, multiple assassinations will ignite the fuse to an international conflict. They can't save the world until they figure out how to save each other first.

“I laughed out loud at the wonderful bantering, screamed to warn the characters of the treachery and cried at the pain and loss, yet my heart soared when two beautiful people realized that love is what they need to survive. DECEPTIVE TREASURES is the fifth book in the SLYE-TEMP series and is just as compelling as the first four books.” ~Billie Jo, Romance Junkies

New York Times bestseller
DIANNA LOVE once dangled over a hundred feet in the air to create unusual marketing projects for Fortune 500 companies. She now writes high-octane thrillers and urban fantasy. Her new Slye Temp romantic thriller series released to rave reviews with book 6– STOLEN VENGEANCE–Dingo & Valene's story. She also pens the bestselling Belador urban fantasy series with WITCHLOCK, book 6, available June 2015. On the rare occasion that Dianna is out of her writing cave, she tours the country on her BMW motorcycle and loves to fish. She lives in the Atlanta, GA area with her motorcycle safety instructor husband and a tank full of unruly saltwater critters.

THE INTERVIEW
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
DIANNA: Every time I write one. If I don’t get lost in the story, then the reader won’t, because I’m a reader first. I’m absolutely drained by The End after having figured out what makes the significant characters tick. In my opinion, you have to understand more than just the two main characters in a romance since everyone around them should be going through their own life issues, too. It’s what makes our world so interesting – we ALL have something important going on. As I’m sorting through all that, I’m completely lost.
ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
DIANNA: Three Billy Goats Gruff. The only reason I can remember that was because I was in first grade and decided to recreate the entire story on a piece of newsprint (the big sheets of paper they gave kids to draw on in grade school) and the teacher called my parents to see the art and story I’d drawn. I was an artist first at that time, but even then, I did love a good story.

ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
DIANNA: Every male and female soldier I’ve ever met. I could tell you stories for days and days yet still never capture the power behind what they do every day of the week.

ANGI: Hiking Boots or Dancing Heels?
DIANNA: Sneakers. J I’m all about comfort.

ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
DIANNA: Dingo Paddock is the hero in STOLEN VENGEANCE, Book 6 in the Slye Temp romantic suspense series. Dingo is so damaged emotionally by what happened to him as a child that he shouldn’t care about another person at all, but he protected two scrawny kids when they were all orphans, and those three bonded closer than any brothers and sister. There’s this core of good so deep inside him, it forces him to protect others when his heart tells him to never risk loving again after what he endured. Because of all that, he accepts everyone as they are as long as they are genuine, and he’s accepted his solitary life in undercover work, until he meets a woman whose loyalty to those she cares about is overshadowed only by her ability to love, regardless of flaws and scars.
ANGI: Benedict Cumberbatch or Chris Pine?
DIANNA: Chris Pine. I’ve been very impressed by the roles he’s played. But if you want my new favorite male actor it’s Bradley Cooper. I think he’s going to be one of the greats from our era.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
DIANNA: That’s tough to pick because I love movies. The first one I saw was the original Romeo and Juliet, and that one made a huge impression on me. A classic that is still fun today is Romancing the Stone, but I love the past and current Star Trek movies. And I loved the last A-Team movie. I think the best way to answer this is to say I really enjoy action, adventure, and romance – I want a deeply emotional story that moves very quickly. That pretty much sums up my approach to writing. J

ANGI: What's your most favorite thing to do in your state?
DIANNA: Tough call because I love riding the back roads of Georgia on my motorcycle, but we also have great coastal fishing.

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Hey Dianna, I loved your DIANNA’S LIFE BEFORE WRITING page on your website. Do you ever draw on your artist skills for a character? AND do you take the time to paint now?
DIANNA’S GOTTA ANSWER: I do have a vision of every character in my books, but I don’t have the time to draw or paint that I used to. My writing cave is my former art studio at home. I do sketch out ideas when I need a visual. Oh butfans of my other series (Belador urban fantasy) will want to know that I have been working on the image of Feenix. (In case you haven’t read the Belador stories, he’s an adorable two-foot-tall gargoyle with an overbite.) And I have something in mind to do for my readers later this year, but it’s a surprise so I can’t talk about it. J

DIANNA WANTS TO KNOW: I liked Angi’s question about what activities I enjoy in my home state of Georgia, so I’m turning that back on you all, the readers. When I get a rare few days out of the writing cave, I love to ride motorcycles with my husband, and I especially enjoy finding new places to go that are unknown or off the beaten path. Tell me your favorite places in YOUR state or country, wherever that is.

  4. First - Dianna Love is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and I totally love her books! Slye Temp and the Belador series are my favorites - the stories completely draw me in as if I am right there with the characters and am facing whatever challenges they face. Great interview- can't wait to see Feenix. As for favorite places in my State--Florida is a wonderful place to live - I love St Augustine, it is the oldest city in the US. I love to explore the old city, the beaches and immerse myself in the history of the Spanish settlement and the interaction with the Timiquan Indians. Also in Jacksonville there is Fort Caroline on the St Johns River - this is a replica fort of where they think the original French fort was located by Jean Ribault. There are many historical locations around the state - and most are on our beautiful beaches. I try to visit both historical sites and the beach as often as possible!

    1. Oh, AlysL, thank you for the wonderful compliment! You have me really wanting to get back down there soon. I'm always thinking about a trip (especially when it's cold in GA! :->). I bet you and Candace would have lots of great historical information to swap. I think I've been to every city along the entire coast of Florida (even the Keys where I fished as a kid) at some point in my life and there is nowhere else like that state. It's very different than GA, but I love both places. So nice of you to stop by today!
