DeleteI love cowboys for all of the reasons you stated above. They're also willing to admit when they're wrong or do something wrong. That's why I love the TV version of "Longmire" so much (I still haven't had the chance to read the books yet. It's on my list. LOL). He doesn't hesitate to hold himself accountable for his actions even as he holds others accountable for their own.

DeleteI love westerns and cowboys because things are black and white, cut and dried. You know who the bad guys are and they get their comeuppance. A cowboy has grit and never quits. My favorite is Gus McCray from Lonesome Dove.

DeleteI grew up watching cowboy shows with my Daddy, who was a great lover of anything cowboy, and loved Zane Grey books. To this day I love the old cowboy shows on INSP on weekends. A lover of romance novels, it was just natural for me to gravitate toward and appreciate the ones with cowboys. JLS

DeleteWhile waiting for cattle to cross the road in Wyoming when I was barely 18, we were rear ended by another vehicle. The most handsome cowboy I've ever seen with striking blue eyes rode up to the car, bent down from his horse, and asked, "Ma'am, are you all right. Do you need help?" I told him I was fine but I think I left part of my heart in Wyoming that summer day. He and some of the other cowboys jumped into action and helped the elderly woman in the car behind me until the ambulance arrived. They were kind and caring not to mention sexy :-). Love cowboys.

DeleteI married a "cowboy", he prefers horseman. He was so strong and confident with an edge of bad boy. Watching him work with horses where he was so gentle, patient, but demanding... swoon. We're older now and he can't ride anymore, but he shows me every day that he loves me. He gets my car out of the garage before I leave for work, making sure it's warm or cool (depending on the season). He never lets me walk out the door without telling me he loves me. He hates traveling, but knows I enjoy it so he tells me to go, have fun... I'll be here when you come home. Those are just a few reasons why I love my cowboy... he's confident enough to let me be me, yet strong enough to take care of me.

DeleteI love cowboys because they are hard working, caring, they love their family with everything they have. With a cowboy what you see is what you get, they don't believe in being fake. They protect what's theirs.

DeleteA true cowboy is a man of faith, patriotic, loves “the land”, is good to horses and dogs and tolerates cats. He adores his family and friends. He would give his life for his country and his loved ones. Upon first glance, all of these characteristics may not be readily apparent. Sometimes, cowboys hoot and holler. Sometimes, they are quiet and thoughtful. They are always worth a second look : )
ReplyDeleteWhat is there not to like about a cowboy? Excuse me, LOVE! Cowboys are hardworking, sincere, look darn good in their jeans, cowboy hat, button down shirt and they way they look on a horse .... OMG! Cowboys will give you the shirt off their back and would also stop and help a woman in distress. They know how to treat a woman as well as family and friends. Cowboys are hot, Hot, HOT!
