First Fridays-BOOK BOYFRIEND MYSTERY MATCH

OUR WINNER OF THE MYSTERY DATE MATCH GAME
IS........drum roll~~~~
COLEEN C.
CONGRATULATIONS!

The onset of summer always brings me back to those carefree days of laying on a blanket watching the clouds, 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles left on a card table, reading an afternoon away, or maybe playing one of the many board games with friends.(or maybe listening for the ice cream truck to make his rounds?)

How many of you remember "The Dating Game?" Or how about "Mystery Date?" All those hunky guys vying for the heart and hand of the young modern woman!!

WELL....
This weekend we're going to bring retro summer fun into the 21st century with a little game here on GET LOST IN STORY!!
It's all about BOOK BOYFRIENDS!!!
We've all lusted after at least one (or more!) and so I thought it'd be fun to quiz our GLIAS authors to see who "their" first book boyfriends were/are:

E.E. Burke claims that she has a "soft spot for bad boys" and that's why BUCK O'CONNER (Her Bodyguard, Book 1, Steam! Romance and Rails series) is her BB heartthrob!

Nan Dixon says that DUNCAN SWIFT (High Noon-Nora Roberts) Cab driver who wins lottery and is charming, loves deeply, generous, thinks about others...and is HOT!"

Regan Walker states that her heart was captured by none other than ALISDAIR (DAIR) (Lady of the Glen-Jennifer Roberson. "A keeper. Dair is a tender warrior."

Jillian Stone says that" when I get ready to write a badass alpha dominant hero, one of my requirements is that he also be eccentric and vulnerable. For that reason, and because I love her writing--I recommend Seamus McIntyre (So Much More -Kim Holden) Pure, broken, strong, but vulnerable male hotness. He is also the sexiest dad you may ever read."

Lizbeth Selvig remembers her first literary heartthrob being Jesse DuFrayne (Hummingbird-LaVyrle Spencer) "He was the original bad boy with the heart of gold."

Angi Morgan claims it's Wildcard Karmody (U.S. Navy Seal (Out of Control-Suzanne Brockman) that got to her because of his serious sense of humor and sense of duty...oh, and he's a HOT seal!"

Avril Tremayne says it was Mr. Rochester (Jane Eyre) that captured her fancy first--"a damaged, but redeemable soul, intensely passionate, and such eloquence with words. The first man I truly fell in love with."

Amanda McIntyre-my first book love was Sheriff Roan Benedict (Roan-Jennifer Blake) "Strong sense of duty, quiet, damaged but with a tender and just heart and sly wit."

#1
*What is your profession? Actor

*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight?
Picnics by moonlight - as long as we're somewhere the paparazzi can't find us
*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing ? Romantic movie - preferably one of mine and not that British guy she has a crush on

*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? I'll take her any way she comes

#2
*What is your profession? Cowboy/Vet Student

*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? Picnics by moonlight in the pasture

*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing ? Country western dancing

*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? Tight jeans and boots, but I really loved that skirt Jen wore on our first date.

#3
*What is your profession? Detective Inspector, Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard

*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? Definitely…moonlight.

*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing? A moon dance on a rooftop garden.

*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? I am beguiled by a woman in a flirty skirt and leather jacket—a tantalizing mix of feminine and masculine.

#4
*What is your profession?  Inventor
*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? When I’m with my girl, it could be cheeseburgers in a drive-through. And I’m putting both those ideas on my calendar.
*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing ?  I like to break rules so I’d take her to all three.
*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy?  Glitzy seems to be my thing. I love sliding my hand over a bare back. But hey…I’m great playing a game of one-on-one…basketball. One-on-one basketball.

#5
*What is your profession? transplant to a northern small town high school teacher/coach
*Prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? Definitely picnics by moonlight.
*First date:  remembering our first date, I’d have to say maybe a little southern country music, then find a dirt road on a starry night where we can share a couple of beers, look at the sky and do whatever we feel comes next
*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? I want a woman to feel casual and sexy in whatever she’s wearing. But being a southern boy at heart, a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt gets my heart racing.

#6
*What is your profession? Ship's captain, sometime smuggler and former pirate and privateer

*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? candlelight dinners with a good Bordeaux wine and brandy, always brandy
*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing? watching the stars from the deck of my ship
*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? I prefer my woman wearing the chemise dress made popular by Marie Antoinette because it's rather like she is wearing nothing at all.

#7
*What is your profession? Handyman, decent mechanic, and ranch hand

*Do you prefer candlelight dinners or picnics by moonlight? Picnics are fun—but I love romancing my girl with a fancy dinner out.

*First date: Sports arena/romantic movie/dancing ? A movie and dinner make a fine cliché date for me. A friendly poker game is plenty of sport – no need to go to an arena.

*Do you prefer your women in casual dress or glitzy? I love a girl in a pretty dress—but then again, jeans and a T-shirt are fine, too. Glitz is absolutely not necessary
