I’m so happy to welcome back to Get Lost in a
Story one of my favourite authors, Melinda Di Lorenzo. Melinda is the author of
wonderful contemporary romance, fabulous romantic suspense novels and sparkling romantic comedies. It’s triply great
to have her here this month because we have three books to talk about: her
latest romantic comedy, Unsolicited Advice
– the third novel in her Between the Sheets series, After Hours
– first in her new Business or Pleasure contemporary romance series, and her latest romantic
suspense – Undercover Protector – book two in the Undercover Justice series, which is up for pre-order in advance of its February
1 release.
About Melinda...
Amazon bestselling author Melinda Di Lorenzo
writes in her spare time - at soccer practices, when she should be doing
laundry, and in place of sleep. She lives on the beautiful west coast of
British Columbia, Canada, with her handsome husband and her noisy kids. When
she's not writing, she can be found curled up with (someone else's) good book.
A year ago, William
Rutherford was living the dream. Beautiful fiancée. Perfect home in the
suburbs. All that changed in an instant. And the advice Miss Anonymous—aka,
Heidi Bluthe–gave might not have been the root cause, but it was certainly the
shove that sent things over the edge. William’s determined to have her set
things right, even if that means unexpectedly risking his heart in the process…
Heidi Bluthe is Miss
Anonymous—queen of a confident, snark-laced advice column. Too bad she can’t
take her own advice to fix the hot mess reality of her life. When one of her
readers shows up claiming her advice ruined his life and demands she fix it,
Heidi agrees to try. She is, after all, a professional and helping him will
help further her career. But what happens next, falling hard for sexy British
charmer, William, really knocks them both for a loop.
Desire
never takes time off . . .
Six
foot two. Lips to die for. And boy, can the man fill out a suit. The gorgeous
stranger sending Aysia Banks steamy looks from across the bar is the perfect
way for her to take her mind off her high-stress job, and maybe even
forget about her ex. An invitation to dance leads to a smoldering night, which
turns into a weekend of uninhibited, toe-curling, blow-your-mind passion.
Things are starting to look up for Aysia—until Monday morning . . .
Another city, another company to save. It’s nothing new to executive Marcelo Diaz, who’s used to calling the shots and getting what he wants. But what is different, is Aysia: the vixen he spent the weekend rewriting the entire playbook with. But before Marc can take things any further he’s shocked by what he discovers . . .

Marc
was hired to keep his employer’s reputation squeaky clean.
Part
of Aysia’s job is to enforce her department’s strict no-dating rule.
And
they work for the same company.
Now,
with their red-hot connection doused by office policies and politics, Aysia and
Marc try to put their fling behind them. It should be easy. But when a
behind-the-scenes power play threatens their careers, they’ll have to bring
their hearts to the table . . .
He
lives by the law.
She’s
dodging death at every turn.
Craving
closure from the blaze that took her father and her memory, Nadine Stuart
returns home hoping to find peace. But the nightmare begins and the only thing
that saves her from being pulled into the inferno is Anderson Somers’
determination to protect her. The undercover detective’s hot on the heels of a
killer — and every instinct tells him Nadine will be the next victim.

Let's Talk...
AVRIL: First things first – hit us with your New Year resolutions!
MELINDA: I actually don't DO resolutions. Don't get me wrong...I'm in favour of fresh starts and new beginnings. But I always have so much stuff going on in January that a resolution would definitely fail.
AVRIL: Can you give us a run down on each of the series?

AVRIL: Can you give us a run down on each of the series?
MELINDA: After Hours is book one in my Business or Pleasure duet. The series is perfect for those who prefer things...spicy. Black panties and back alleys and no holds barred, oh my. If you're looking for non-stop heat, ramped up tension, and strong heroines, you've come to the right place. Each book can be read on its own.
Unsolicited Advice is book three in my Between The Sheets trilogy. All three book in the series are RomComs, full of heart and humor. My favourite thing about this book, in particular, is my very swoon worthy British hero. All of the book are standalone novels, with the commonality being the magazine where the heroines work.
Undercover Protector is book two in my four-book Harlequin Romantic Suspense series. This series is aptly named Undercover Justice, and it follows four brothers-in-arms who are seeking to put their fathers' murderer behind bars. Each book has a complete HEA, but there is an over-arcing story, too.
AVRIL: How far ahead to do you plan your writing schedule?

MELINDA: I set my schedule deadline to deadline.
AVRIL: What’s on your TBR list?
AVRIL: What’s on your TBR list?
MELINDA: I don't usually read while I'm writing. On my next break, I'll be reading Ruth Ware's In A Dark, Dark Wood, and a YA called Learning Seventeen by Brooke Carter.
We'd love to hear what's on your TBR list!
