Medical Romance with Susan Carlisle

A DADDY SENT BY SANTA
When a small-town mom…
Falls for a big-city doc…

Nurse Lauren Wilson is used to doctors coming and going in her Oklahoma town — and doesn’t expect prestigious Boston doc Paxton Samuels to be any different. Until they’re snowed in together and their sensual tension reaches boiling point! But knowing Paxton is due to leave after the festive season, can Lauren risk giving him her heart and her little boy a daddy for Christmas?

SUSAN CARLISLE’S love affair with books began when she made a bad grade in math in the sixth grade. Not allowed to watch TV until she brought the grade up, Susan filled her time with books. She turned her love of reading into a love of writing romance. Susan has currently authored more than twenty-five books for the HarperCollins Harlequin imprint medical line. Her heroes are strong, vibrant man and the woman that challenge them.

In her past life Susan has been a full time mother to four children, a high school substitute teacher and now when she isn’t writing she is busy being a fun grandmother. She lives near Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband of over thirty-five years. Susan loves castles, traveling, cross-stitching and reads voraciously.

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
SUSAN: Oh, I get lost in every one I write. I also get lost in a number of ones I read and I read all the time. There is nothing better than getting lost in a book.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
SUSAN: That Paxton has such a large and compassionate heart. He cares deeper than he wants people to know. Paxton is also aware of who he is and who he wants to be.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
SUSAN: Is there an easier question? I’m a huge James Bond fan so I’m going with any of those movies. I like movies so it is hard for me to pick just one.

ANGI: What’s your perfect day?
SUSAN: I love a good cold, rainy day when I can stay in the bed and read all day.

ANGI: Salad or soup?
SUSAN: Soup

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
SUSAN: Action Adventure. I’m more proactive than letting things happen to me.

ANGI: Favorite TV rerun you watch every time you channel surf?
SUSAN: Remington Steele -- every time and anytime

ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
SUSAN: l like a fancy night out but only because I don’t get many of them.

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
SUSAN: Soda

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
SUSAN: Jock

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
SUSAN: I rode a mule into the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I’m afraid of heights so I had to make myself remember the experience was more important than my fear. I’m glad I did. I made a turn around a bend on a two foot wide path and 1000 feet below was the Colorado River. It was an amazing view. It was well worth keeping my fear at bay.

ANGI’s GOTTA ASK:  Where is your favorite writing place & why?

SUSAN’S GOTTA ANSWER:  At my mother’s place on a lake in north Alabama. I’m very productive there.

  1. I have felt like that at work parties. I'm not one for small talk. I'd rather be at home reading a book.

  3. I have felt like that at any party as I am an introvert when I go. I feel very out of place and will do anything to get out of my husbands family affairs they are always the same and I would rather stay home. I do love the cover of this book and it sounds so good. peggy clayton

  5. I feel that way many times, especially at my husband's work party's.I don't like mingling with people I don't know. Now give me a bunch of readers/authors and I'm in 7th heaven.

  6. I feel like a fish out of water at my husband's work parties. I am not a mingler. I just sit and let anyone who wants to talk to me come to me. I hate being shy but I am.

  7. I was invited to an engagement party of a co- worker. I didn't know anyone there when I first arrived. By the time I left, I had a few new friends.

  8. Not really if I am not comfortable somewhere I don't go or make an excuse and leave

  9. When have I not felt that way? When you walk the path of your own convictions, you often walk alone!

  10. I feel like a fish out of water all the time. I'm shy and social setting aren't my thing. Family gatherings are hard. My cousins all grew up in the same large city. I grew up in a small small town. They have memories with each other I don't have. Thus, I'm often left out of conversations. It's doesn't help with us getting close at all.
