LIZBETH SELVIG

Beautiful English Foxglove

I've always dreaded the question "What's your favorite flower" because I often have trouble picking my one favorite of anything. Color? Blue, or sage green, or aqua... Food? Chocolate or  pizza, or a big piece of cake...  So my favorite flower? If you were to torture me and make me pick one I would say daisies. But really? It's a big multi-colored bouquet of lots of different flowers! 

I have a new release coming out in November as part of a Christmas romantic suspense box set. It will join the popular Chandler County multi-author series. Titled "Season of Suspense: A Chandler County Christmas" it will feature six novellas by me and five other award-winning authors. My book is titled "Missing One Angel." AVRIL TREMAYNE

Spring hasn't actually sprung in Australia - it's autumn here! - but I guess I'll share that my favourite flower is in fact the jonquil. While I know I should be sharing a picture of that, I'm instead going to share a photo I took a week or so ago her in my hometown to give you an idea of what autumn looks like here - which is basically sunny and green and floral. We do have deciduous trees, but they're not exactly over-represented in Sydney! I think this gorgeous pink flowering plant is a bougainvillea but as my plant knowledge is scant, I'm not guaranteeing it.

I'm afraid I don't have a new release to share because I'm up to the gills writing a new romantic comedy that's so screwball-complicated, it's taking forever to finish. However, if there are any Wattpadders out there, I hope you'll feel free to check out a second story I'm writing for my followers over on that fabulous platform. It looks and sounds like a cowboy story but it's really more about a heroine obsessed with the American west and a hero doing his best to forget that's where he comes from. It's is based on my experiences on a dude ranch in Wyoming many years ago where I proved I did not have what it takes to live outside a big city! You can find it HERE!

I don't have a new release right now, but I have lots of flower pictures! 

I love so many different flowers but my favorite is the PEONY. It’s one of the many flowers my mom grew in her amazing garden on the farm where I grew up. In northern Alberta, Canada, gardening can be challenging, especially getting certain plants to survive the winters. The peonies always survived. These days I see some very exotic looking peony variations in the much milder climate of Victoria on Canada’s southwest coast. Here are some…

 Spring is announced when my Bluebells start showing, quickly followed by the Bleeding Hearts. After seeing brown all winter, it's a welcome relief to greet this showy new life.

I love taking walks in the spring and looking at all the new buds bursting out as the trees wake up. The Redbuds in particular put on quite a show.



In my recent release, Taming Huck Finn, you'll traverse a stretch of wilderness that has recently been the news, the Upper Missouri River. Over the years, the river has been dredged, but never tamed and it made a perfect backdrop for the tale of a man who resists fitting into society but yearns for deeper relationships.
