As many times as we've driven west, we've never taken the time to drive through Tuscon. So I've never seen a lot of the Saguaro cactus in one place. We have been to Joshua Tree--great, but not the same.
We arrived around midnight in the pitch black and awoke surrounded by giant cacti. These pictures are from sunrise. O.M.G. What a wondrous place.

Great pics... I love when the sun starts to go down and the mountains look purple... you see all of these beautiful colors in the sky!
ReplyDeleteWe had such good weather, the sunsets were bland.
DeleteBut I'll take the good weather with no cloud in the skies!

The cacti grow so large - some varieties at least.
ReplyDeleteThe most wondrous thing at the moment is my daughter beginning her dream job. Such a proud Mamma moment.

DeleteAngi those pics that you take are just amazing and it must be so fun to go off and do it. I have a new granddaughter that was born last sat and my son was so happy now he has 2 girls and 1 step boy. They are in Ca and I am in eastern Iowa so we talk a lot on the phone and last week when baby is 1 wk i get another pic and 2 weeks and so on and then he takes all these pics and goes to walkgreens and makes him into prints and sends to Dubuque Walgreens and I have a photo albumn that is similiar to the one he sent us last Christmas when we were there playing siteseers it was so fun. So now I have set up a saving acct called Ca and when i have an extra $ in my other acct i throw it in there so my hubby and i can fly there and get wonderful loves. peggy clayton ptclayton2@aol.com

DeleteAngi, what lovely photographs. You have a wonderful "eye" for great pictures. The cactus that grows there are amazing, but it's the pics of the beautiful cactus flowers that bring back childhood memories of me going out on the prairie with a basket and scissors and cutting a few yellow or pink blooms and then floating them in a crystal bowl that so complement each other. Thanks for sharing your photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that memory. How lovely.
DeleteAnd you're welcome. I love to share these.
