Tawny, Hunter & Marni

MIDNIGHT SPECIAL
Harlequin Blaze
2 in 1

Somewhere on the train is a key witness for a crime involving arson, murder and a high-profile businessman. And reporter Marni Clare will do whatever it takes to get the story—even if it means crashing in a sleeper car that’s she’s not sure she’s reserved. But when she wakes, she finds herself curled up with the man she’s seeking…and he’s hot enough to derail all her plans!

FBI special agent Hunter won’t complain about the wickedly hot blonde in his arms. And maybe it’s the medication he’s on, but he’s even agreed to share his room for the entire journey….

It’s a long trip in close quarters, and within days their berth becomes the scene of some steamy railway romps. But is Marni just having fun…or is she taking Hunter for a ride?

COMING ON STRONG
By private invitation only…

Event: Very sensual resort opening.
Place: In bed, hopefully!
Host: Hottie millionaire Mitch Carter.
Planner: Belle Forsham. Who once jilted Mitch at the altar. Oops…

When Mitch’s new hotel falters, he needs a pro. Enter the It Girl of event planning: the traitorous, damnably sexy Belle. Time for some redhot revenge!

But Belle has her own secret agenda for her ex-fiance? And in the meantime, she’ll enjoy how Mitch still makes her legs and every other body part deliciously quiver.

But it’s strictly business between them this time. At least it is…until Belle decides that the best sexual revenge goes both ways! “This heroine was one of my favorites to write. She has such a quirky personality and way with words.” –Tawny

HUNTER & MARNI ARE GETTING LOST TODAY
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
MARNI: Oh all the time! I love biographies. I’m fascinated with the lives and interests of people who seem larger than life.  I love nothing more than sinking into their world and learning everything I can.

ANGI:What’s the first book you remember reading?
HUNTER: Tom Clancy’s The Hunt for Red October.  Anything with spies, FBI, CIA... I was fascinated.

ANGI: What’s your favorite “love” word?
HUNTER: Well it used to be avoidance.  But thanks to Marni, now my favorite love word is forever.

ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
MARNI: I know Hunter thinks I’m going to say him.  Silly guy.  He’s my hero, of course, but my favorite is Rick Hunter.  It was in the course of writing his biography that I fell in love with his son.

ANGI: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
HUNTER: Huh?  Fairy tale?  You mean like little kid bedtime stories?  You’re kidding, right?  I didn’t believe in any of that happy ever after stuff.  Well, not until Marni.

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
MARNI: <eyeing Hunter>  Beauty and the Beast.  I love the beast, for all his gruff and grumbly ways.

ANGI: Is there a playlist you’d recommend for reading your latest release?
MARNI: Oh, Tawny has a fabulous one.  I think it's on her website.  Hang on, let me check my smartphone... Yep, here it is on her website.

ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
HUNTER: The sound Marni makes when she—
MARNI: Hunter!
HUNTER: What? I was going to say when you get excited.  <He waits a beat, then grins.>  Like when you’re opening a gift or I bring you home a surprise.  I’m sure that’s what the readers were thinking, too.
MARNI: Uh huh... Readers?  Is that what you were thinking?

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
MARNI: Fairy Tale, with action.  What can I say? I’m a girl who wants it all.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
HUNTER: The Bourne Identity
MARNI: Casablanca

ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
HUNTER: The one I put behind bars.  Oh, you mean like in fiction?  Lex Luther was pretty awesome.

ANGI: What is your biggest vice?
HUNTER: Marni. I couldn’t give her up at gunpoint even though I’m not always sure she’s good for me.
MARNI: Oh, quit it. I’m the best thing that ever happened in your life. Admit it.
HUNTER: Okay, she’s right.  She is the best.  I still can’t give her up, though.

ANGI: Tell us a little about the 2nd book paired with MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. COMING ON STRONG is a reader favorite…what makes it one of yours?
TAWNY: Oh, I loved writing COMING ON STRONG! The heroine is not only named for one of my absolute favorite loves, my dog Tinkerbell (don’t judge, she’s a gorgeous dog <g>) but it's one of the first stories I ever wrote that just flowed.  It practically wrote itself and the heroine was so big and full of life and just out there!  I seriously love Belle, and Mitch is so perfect for her!!!

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: When I set a book in the same city as a previous release, I love to leave a hidden connection. For instance, 2 books might have the same secondary character in a walk-on role, but each book is completely stand alone. With so many books written…is there a way to see if your characters have made "guest" appearances in previous releases?
TAWNY'S GOTTA ANSWER:  I love revisiting characters, settings and scenarios from previous books!  In MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, I not only revisited previous characters, as the heroes best friend is Caleb Black, from SEX, LIES & MISTLETOE.  But I also revisited the case the FBI was working in the SEX & LIES series as Marni is writing an article based on that case and the people involved.

In COMING ON STRONG it was actually easier to keep the characters all cozied up, as Belle, the heroine, is business partners and best friends with Sierra, the heroine of GOING DOWN HARD.  Not only that, but the heroes are cousins, and as the hero of GOING DOWN HARD is a security expert, he’s called in to investigate issues in both stories.

As a reader, and a writer, there’s nothing I love more than feeling like I’m deeper into the world of the story. Connected characters really seem to make that happen for me.
