Alexa & The Future of Glenhalish

Thanks so much for coming back to celebrate with me again today!

What's happening next? As I've mentioned in various parts of this release party, Carry Me Home is the first story in what I hope will be a trilogy set in Glenhalish, Scotland. This 1st story revolves around eldest MacDougall, Jamie.

Today I'd like to reveal to you the cover for the next MacDougall story, baby of the family Meggie. Here is the blurb for this second story, Silent Surrender:

Meggie MacDougall often dreams of Quinn O’Connell, the sexy Irish football coach who swept her off her feet in Dublin. But what happened in Dublin must stay there. She has responsibilities at home, and she refuses to fuel the gossip fires in Glenhalish.

Quinn has never forgotten Meggie and the explosive weekend they shared. Overwhelmed by memories of her passion, beauty, and zest for life, he jeopardizes his cushy career to find her and test the connection between them.

When Quinn arrives in her Highland village, Meggie is determined to ignore him. However, she isn't prepared for the claim he lays on her heart with his sexy charm and his tender soul.

Will pride and fear keep Meggie from embracing possibilities, or will Quinn's gentle persistence break down her defenses and lead her to a silent surrender?

I'm still waiting on a release date for Silent Surrender. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I can!

Other than that, I'm keeping busy with writing in a new genre. I'm also waiting to hear whether my publisher wants the story for the 3rd MacDougall, the middle child, Ewan. If Decadent Publishing takes that story, you'll have a grand time! Also, Jamie and Mary return to both Meggie's story and Ewan's as secondary characters.

Oooooh! And before I forget, this week I've started a new page on my website called Cuan MacDougall Pub. It's a place where my characters can hang out and give readers more inside information on the village of Glenhalish. Meggie will be the hostess until further notice! It will be her chance to share her point of view of her world because she's the big mouth of the village. (But don't tell her I said that!) You can see her first post here. I hope you'll consider joining us there!

Does any of this sound appealing to you? Leave a comment with your thoughts and you'll be in the running for today's contest. Remember, winners will be chosen from all comments from all locations for each day. AND if you tweet about it, which will give you MORE chances to win, make sure to include me @AlexaBourne and #CMHReleaseParty! Winners will be announced on Saturday.

Now, let's get down to the really important book business.
Title: Carry Me Home.
Setting: Glenhalish, my fictional version of Glenfinnan in the Highlands of Scotland. Here are some pictures to put you in the right mood for reading this book!

(Pictures used with permisson from author Vonda Sinclair.)

Genre: Contemporary romance. Yes, you read that right. It's set in Scotland and it is NOT an historical romance!
Characters: Jamie and Mary MacDougall, a married couple who appeared as secondary characters in my 1st book, Her Highland Champion. They had too much to tell me and demanded their own story.
Length: It's only about 50 pages, folks! A quick, satisfying read!

After six months in the city, Mary MacDougall returns to the Scottish Highlands to finalize her divorce. Because of a past tragedy, she doubts her husband Jamie can possibly love her with the same unbridled passion as before and insists ending the marriage is best for both of them. But Jamie has other ideas….

Jamie MacDougall has no intention of letting his bonnie lass go. At least not without a fight. Aye, they’ve suffered heartache, and she may be ready to call it quits, but he refuses to throw away the partnership they’ve built since they were children. Instead, he’ll remind her they were meant to be together, forever.

Can this marriage survive pride and grief to allow love to carry them home?
I want to share with you the song that inspired and ultimately helped me finish this book. It's called I Will Carry You by Selah. I was playing around on You Tube and I clicked on this song.

The music was so lyrical and the singing too. I literally had tears in my eyes. When it was over, I replayed it...probably several times. The story shared within the words fit my couple perfectly. I had been struggling with the writing before this, but this just opened up my heart to listen to what Jamie and Mary had to say to me and to each other. I'm so thrilled with the outcome and I hope you will be too!

So, are you tempted to try this book out yet?
