MEET LARA LACOMBE

We are so happy to have LARA LACOMBE join the crew on Get Lost In A Story. But things around here have been hopping so fast, we haven't been able to properly introduce her. We're remedying that today.

I first met Lara at my local writing chapter. It didn't take her long to volunteer where I got to know her better. But this past summer, Lara and I have shared precious writing time. That's when you can tell how serious someone is about their writing. A big heart, a wonderful outlook on life and someone I hope stays in my circle of friends a very long time...

Meet my pal and writing buddy, Lara Lacombe.

Lara began her professional life as a bio-medical researcher, but quickly discovered that romance novels and happily ever afters were a lot more fun than late nights in the lab. She began writing romance a few years ago, and sold her debut, DEADLY CONTACT, to Harlequin Romantic Suspense. Just last week, she followed up with a two book deal to HRS: FATAL FALLOUT (Aug '14) & DEADLY DECEPTIONS (late 2014).

ANGI: Do you like drawing on your background in bio-medical research for your stories? Is it easy to write about a “former” part of your life?

LARA: I love it! It's so much fun to use my training in a new way, and I love sharing information with the readers. I try to keep the science parts accessible, and I really hope people enjoy reading them and maybe even learn something!

ANGI: What’s the most fun you've had as a writer?

LARA: I haven't had the pleasure of interacting with readers yet, since the book won't be released until late October.  I have been able to go to a few conferences though, and it's so great to be around a group of people who love romance as much as I do!

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: What the heck is a “magic chair”?

LARA’S GOTTA ANSWER: Angi, you could probably answer this better than I can! LOL.  It's your grandmother's chair, and while it's not much to look at, it is amazingly comfortable.  I just sink in, and the chair surrounds me with good writing vibes!  I get so much work done while sitting there that I'm convinced the chair has magical writing powers. :)
