National Readers Choice Winner Jill Shalvis

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING
After dropping out of pastry school and messing up her big break on a reality cooking show, Leah Sullivan needs to accomplish something in her life. But when she returns home to Lucky Harbor, she finds herself distracted by her best friend Jack Harper. In an effort to cheer up Jack’s ailing mother, Dee, Leah tells a little fib—that she and Jack are more than just friends. Soon pretending to be hot-and-heavy with this hunky firefighter feels too real to handle . . .
No-strings attachments suit Jack just fine—perfect for keeping the risk of heartbreak away. But as Jack and Leah break every one of their “just friends” rules, he longs to turn their pretend relationship into something permanent. Do best friends know too much about each other to risk falling in love? Or will Jack and Leah discover something new about each other in a little town called Lucky Harbor?

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis
lives in a small town in the Sierras full of quirky characters. Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is, um, mostly coincidental. Look for her award winning Lucky Harbor series wherever books are sold, including FOREVER AND A DAY, named one of Amazon's Top 10 Best Romances.  She's won the prestigious Rita award for best contemporary romance, and has three Readers Choice Awards.  And this year will be honored to receive RT's Career Achievement in Contemporary Romance.  Visit Jill's website for a complete book list and daily blog detailing her city-girl-living-in-the-mountains adventures.

CLOVER: How often do you get lost in a story?
JILL:  every day.  :)

CLOVER: What will always make you smile, even on a bad day?
JILL:   Life in general.  Gotta laugh, or what's the point?

CLOVER: You write about a glorious day of the life of a romance writer on your blog, which I thought was so funny and could really relate to. Is that about how most of your days go?
JILL:  Yes, some things never change...

CLOVER: What is your favorite tradition from your childhood that you would love to pass on to your children?
JILL: READING!
CLOVER: I’m with you on that. I think reading for pleasure activates brain cells in other areas too.

CLOVER: What would you say is your most interesting quirk?
JILL: Um, that I'm I Love Lucy reincarnated?
CLOVER: Oh no, she gets herself in all kinds of trouble.

CLOVER:  If you were given a chance to travel anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would you go?
JILL: A deserted island with all the food I can eat and a charged Kindle.

CLOVER’S GOTTA ASK:  What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?
JILL’S GOTTA ANSWER:     NAP, for like four days.  :)  Then, eat as many cookies as I can, walk with my dogs, reacquaint myself with the teenagers and husband…  Then start the process all over again…  :)
