It's the Perfect time to Get Lost with Carly Phillips!

Book Title: Perfect Together
Publisher: Berkley

In the picturesque town of Serendipity, New York, three siblings have grown up in the shadow of their proud and respected police chief father. But what do love, fate, and fortune have in store for the next generation of Serendipity’s finest?
Tired of being the easy-going daughter, always ignored in favor of her high-maintenance sister, and no longer wanting to be her fiance’s trophy wife, Nicole Farnsworth calls off her wedding. All she wants is to be herself. And where better to find her destiny than Serendipity? The place where she met the one man who made her heart beat faster, and gave her the courage to reinvent her life-even if he doesn’t know it.
Officer Sam Marsden calls Serendipity home and he loves it there-even though his childhood sweetheart was stolen by his best friend. After such heartbreak, Sam fears he can’t trust his instincts when it comes to love. Yet he’s so tempted by Nicole, a woman he met only briefly but who has starred in his dreams ever since.
For Nicole and Sam, opening their hearts one more time could change their lives forever. But who’ll be the first to take that chance?

Meet Carly!
After a successful fifteen year career with various New York publishing houses, and over 40 sexy contemporary romance novels published, N.Y. Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carly Phillips is now an Indie author who writes to her own expectations and that of her readers. She continues the tradition of hot men and strong women and plans to publish many more sizzling stories. Carly lives in Purchase, NY with her family, two nearly adult daughters and two crazy dogs who star on her Facebook Fan Page and website. She's a writer, a knitter of sorts, a wife, and a mom. In addition, she's a Twitter and Internet junkie and is always around to interact with her readers.

Let's get to the good stuff...

Lara: How often to you get lost in a story?
Carly: I’m not sure if you mean reading or writing.  Reading, if a book is good, I have to try and finish in one sitting.  It’s a fatal flaw and occupies too much time.  So I get lost in reading a lot! As for writing, I have to be mid-story to truly get lost in my own writing. The writing in the beginning is tougher.

Lara: What’s the first book you remember reading?
Carly: I remember so many books. I was an avid reader growing up, all genres, whatever I could get my hands on.  I’m the same today.  I read, read, read, I know I have favorites  but when asked, everything becomes a blur.  I’m bad with details! I’m just happy reading.  These days it’s all Romance.

Lara: If you couldn’t be a writer anymore, what profession would you take up?
Carly:  I always say makeup artist. I LOVE cosmetics, LOL!

Lara: How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?
Carly:  I definitely can’t complain! I think as romance writers, we have the best job ever.  Seriously.  Yes we work, but this work at least is done from home, in comfy clothes with access to my fridge whenever I want it.  And I have the hot guys doing whatever I tell them to.  All day long! I love my job!

Lara: What three things are, at this moment, in your heroine’s purse, satchel, reticule, weapons belt or amulet bag (whatever she carries)?
Carly: Hmm.  Nicole’s purse has her keys, her wallet and her cell phone.  It isn’t that she’s minimalist, but she’s all about the necessities.

Lara: What is your hero’s “kryptonite” – in other words, what will bring him instantly to his knees?
Carly: For Sam that would be a woman in distress.  Make that Nicole in distress.  But seriously, Sam is a cop from a family of cops.  Protect and defend is in his blood.

Lara: What one thing about your hero drives his heroine crazy? And what one thing about your heroine drives her hero nuts?
Carly: I’d say that for Sam, anything about her ex being in town drives him nuts.  And for Nicole, his tendency not to reveal much and to keep his past closely hidden is hard for her.

Lara: What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?
Carly: Sleep! Then I usually clean my desk because I have a tendency to let things pile up while I’m in the downhill slide of a book.  And I try to take a little time off to decompress my brain afterwards.

Lara’s GOTTA ASK What are the next five books on your ‘to be read’ pile?
Carly’s GOTTA ANSWER:   Juliana Stone’s Tucker, Violet Duke’s Love, Chocolate and Beer, Kristen Ashley’s Kaleidoscope, Joanna Wylde’s Reaper’s Legacy and Roxie Rivera, In Jack’s Arms.

Here's where you can find Carly!
