Wylie Snow

ABOUT WYLIE SNOW

Almost every author says they wanted to write from a very early age. Not Wylie. She wanted to be a detective like Nancy Drew, or a wildlife expert like Jim Fowler, or an archaeologist like Indiana Jones.
Or own an island resort and make fantasies come true.
Funny how life works…
She married a detective, worked in a zoo, explored shipwrecks, and spent 18 glorious years living on a sunny sub-tropical island.
As for those fantasies…
She also writes erotic-romance as Wylie Kinson.

ABOUT JUMP ZONE: CLEO FALLS

When deception, danger and death are one leap away… you can’t afford to fall.

All Cleo wants, all she’s ever wanted, is the acceptance of her tribe and the love of her family... and she almost dies trying to earn it. But the man who saved her, who found beauty in her flaws and loved her without condition, has cruelly betrayed her, and she’s dying all over again.

His words, his promises, his kisses... Were they all lies? Lost in unfamiliar territory, Cleo will fight the forces that conspire to destroy her homeland, even if she has to do it alone.

Libra longs for freedom—from prison, from pretense, and from his birthright... but he’s caught in a political game where only greed and power can win, and Cleo Rush is the pawn. How much is he willing to sacrifice for liberty? His morals, his principles, the woman he loves?  No matter which path he chooses, people will die, their blood on his hands. And it could be hers.

To save themselves and their world, Cleo and Libra must overcome the double tragedy that binds their families in hatred. Together, they might live. Apart, Cleo will fall.

GET TO KNOW WYLIE

MAUREEN: What’s your favorite holiday?
WYLIE: Does Halloween count?  I love the imagination of it! And the candy J

MAUREEN: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
WYLIE: I’m a huge movie buff, so narrowing down to just one,… tough. I’m going to go with Legends of the Fall. Great cast, amazing soundtrack, and it runs you through every emotion.

MAUREEN: Where do you most like to read and how often?
WYLIE: In the bathtub. It’s the only place my family won’t disturb me.

MAUREEN: What’s the first book you remember reading?
WYLIE: My first adult book (because going back further than age 13 would be impossible!) was Sidney Sheldon’s Rage of Angels. I was in 8th Grade. My teacher asked to borrow it when I was done.

MAUREEN: Do you believe in ghosts?
WYLIE: I don’t not believe in ghosts. I don’t think I’ve met one yet, but I’m not ruling anything out.

MAUREEN: Do shapeshifters exist?
WYLIE: Yes. They are called children. They go from little horned devils to darling angels every day!

MAUREEN: Hiking boots or high heels?
WYLIE: They both hurt. I’m going with bedroom slippers.

MAUREEN: Would you rather sky dive or scuba dive?
WYLIE: Scuba dive! When I lived in Bermuda I spent a lot of time diving shipwrecks, wondering what and who they were carrying, knowing that every person on board had a story.

MAUREEN: Vanilla or chocolate?
WYLIE: Chocolate.

MAUREEN: What’s the most romantic thing anyone ever did for you?
WYLIE: When my husband and I were dating, he got takeout from a very exclusive restaurant (not the kind you take-out from!) and set up a romantic outdoor dinner in a private garden that overlooked Hamilton Harbour (Bermuda), which was full of tall ships and twinkling lights. I said yes ;)

MAUREEN: Which of your characters would you most/least to invite to dinner, and why?
WYLIE: I LOVE this question!! I would love to have dinner with Libra, the hero of my book, so I could pick his brain about the future. I’d least like to have Leon Trevayne, because he’d probably spray spittle all over the food during one of his rants.

MAUREEN: Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?
WYLIE: Coffee – light and sweet. As for tea, I enjoy herbals. I’m on a lemon-ginger kick at the moment.

MAUREEN: What does it mean to love someone?
WYLIE: My measure of love… If I would throw myself into the path of an oncoming bus for someone. Is that really weird? LOL

MAUREEN: What color would you make the sky if it wasn’t going to be blue anymore and why?
WYLIE: I’d make the sky candle-light. Everyone looks better in candle light ;)

MAUREEN: What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon?

WYLIE: If it’s cold or raining… good book, fireplace, latte. If it’s sunny… beach, good book, mojito.

MAUREEN’S GOTTA ASK--WYLIE’S GOTTA ANSWER

MAUREEN: How did you come up with the idea for your book’s post-apocalyptic future?

WYLIE: I had an idea for a post-apocalyptic Romeo and Juliet type of story but the world didn’t begin building in my head until a car-trip through Northern Ontario. The untamed beauty of the landscape literally took my breath away. Miles and miles of uninhabited land, a stunning palette of greens and dark blues, harsh rocky outcrops and lake after lake. Sixteen hours later, polite conversation exhausted, my husband and I began the ‘what would you do if’ game. It didn’t matter what the disaster -- zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, massive tsunami, Ebola outbreak -- we decided we’d survive up here, in the northern forests Ontario. And Jump Zone was born!

Crazy Thing Called Love

WELCOME MOLLY O’KEEFE

Today I'm excited to host my BFF and indispensable critique partner, the amazingly talented and award winning: Molly O'Keefe. :-)

Molly O’Keefe published her first Harlequin romance at age twenty-five and hasn’t looked back. She loves exploring each character’s road toward happily ever after. She’s won two Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice awards and the RITA for Best Novella in 2010.
Originally from a small town outside of Chicago, she now lives in Toronto, Canada, with her husband, two kids, and the largest heap of dirty laundry in North America.

CRAZY THING CALLED LOVE

In this poignant and deeply sensual new contemporary romance—perfect for readers of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson—Molly O’Keefe proves that lost loves don’t have to stay lost forever.

Dallas TV morning show host Madelyn Cornish is poised, perfect, and unflappable, from her glossy smile to her sleek professionalism. No one knows that her iron will guards a shattered heart and memories of a man she’s determined to lock out. Until that man shows up at a morning meeting like a bad dream: Billy Wilkins, sexy hockey superstar in a tailspin—still skating, still fighting, and still her ex-husband.

Now the producers want this poster child for bad behavior to undergo an on-air makeover, and Billy, who has nothing to lose, agrees to the project. It’s his only chance to get near Maddy again, and to fight for the right things this time around. He believes in the fire in Maddy’s whiskey eyes and the passion that ignites the air between them. This bad-boy heartbreaker wants a last shot to be redeemed by the only thing that matters: Maddy’s love.

GET TO KNOW MOLLY O’KEEFE

MAUREEN: What really scares you?
MOLLY: Everything. Forgetting my kid at a store. Toronto drivers. Ice storms. But really, heights. I am really scared of heights.

MAUREEN: Who was your favorite teacher in grade school? Why?
MOLLY: I had a great string of grade school teachers. But Mrs. Jordal in fifth grade really stands out. She seemed to understand how awful math was for me, and how much I loved reading and writing and while encouraging me to be better in math, she didn't make me feel bad. I have a lot of bad feelings associated with math. I think in a previous life, math assaulted me.

MAUREEN: LOL. Do you believe in ghosts?
MOLLY: I totally believe in ghosts. Once in Florida at twilight after a great run on the beach, I thought I saw my Grandpa Allen, just standing in the shadows under a tree. And he was so clear, so totally there - that I burst into tears. Might have just been emotions from the run, but I like to believe he was there.

MAUREEN: Where in the world would you most like to visit?
MOLLY:  Well, our next big family vacation is out west to Banff and the Dinosaur park out there - where they found many of the fossils in North America. I'm very excited.

MAUREEN: What’s next for you as an author?
MOLLY: Oh, well, after Crazy Thing Called Love, I'm starting a new series. Wild Child comes out in October.

MAUREEN: Do shapeshifters exist?
MOLLY: No. Only ghosts and vampires - everyone knows that.

MAUREEN: :-) What’s your favorite cartoon character?
MOLLY: Right now my kids are on a Pink Panther run and Anteater and Ant are pretty funny.

MAUREEN: What hidden talents do you have?
MOLLY: I am really good at guessing the guest voices on The Simpsons. I can't figure out how to make any money at it.

MAUREEN: Oh, I can guess voices too! But more on commercials and animated movies. We need to figure out how to turn that talent into cash!
What’s something you’d like to tell your fans?
MOLLY: Letters from readers are the most validating, exciting thing EVER. Even if it's a letter to say how much they hated the book. That someone was moved to take the time to write - it's amazing. Thank you to everyone who has ever written me a note.

MAUREEN: If you couldn’t be a writer anymore, what profession would you take up?
MOLLY: Social work or teacher.

MAUREEN: What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?
MOLLY: Maureen and I used to go out for a drink, but we seemed to have stopped, or slowed down - which is a CRIME!!

MAUREEN: Yes, a serious crime!!! Call the drinks police! Lock us up in a bar until we learn our lesson!
Vampires or werewolves?
MOLLY: Vampires - I love Vampire books and TV shows, UNTIL the werewolf shows up.

MAUREEN: Did you belong to a clique in high school? Which one of the standard high school stereotypes did you best fit in to?
MOLLY: Our high school was a really standard midwest small town high school, so there were tons of cliques. And I was very firmly a drama/speech team kid (I would say nerd, but it hurts) however my dear friend was one of those girls who was friends with everyone. A cheerleader who dated a stoner, best friends with a theater nerd. She kept me cool. Or as cool as she could. It's funny to think about those years.

GOTTA ASK -- GOTTA ANSWER

MAUREEN: Your heroes in your fabulous Crooked Creek Series are professional hockey players. Can you skate? Have you ever played hockey yourself?
MOLLY: HA! I actually just learned to skate. I'm pretty terrible. But my husband plays hockey. And I do like watching hockey. I love how the hockey guys are so real in interviews, these boys from small towns in Canada and Russia who are suddenly thrust into the spotlight for a sound bite. I love the guys that do it well, and the guys who are AWFUL at it.

A QUESTION FOR READERS

MOLLY ASKS: Who is your favorite hockey player?
