BREATHLESS
Sophie Jordan
For Az, it's supposed to be a fun summer vacation with her family. Nothing complicated. Just a quick trip to test the waters as she prepares for a year on her own. That all changes when she rescues a drowning girl and meets Tate—the most gorgeous human boy she's ever seen.

Tate throws her heart, her plans, and her life into upheaval, but the closer she gets to him, the harder it is to hide the secret of what she is.With no hope for a future together, the last thing that can ever happen . . . is love.
You'll meet the heroine of BREATHLESS on the first page of FIRELIGHT -- she is the best friend to the heroine of the Firelight trilogy. "When HarperTeen asked if I would write a novella to accompany the trilogy, Az was the first character to pop in my head. She was such a fan favorite and I really felt she deserved a romance of her own. " ~Sophie

The day was as hot as the pond was inviting. It's not as if anyone in Little Huffington was going to happen upon a secluded vale on the Duke of Greycliffe's lands. And Venus Collingswood didn't want to get her shift all wet. It was the perfect setting in which to plan her lovely bookworm of a sister's betrothal to the mysterious new duke arriving seven days hence. If only she had a suitable accomplice . . .

Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI have only Eloisa James' book but the others sound terrific too!
Congrats to all the nominees, I am so thrilled that Leslie got nominated. Blaze is my favorite Harlequin line.
ReplyDeleteGood morning and welcome to GLIAS, ladies.
ReplyDeleteI love series with recurring characters. But there has to be a Happily Ever After for each book.
~Angi
yes, but only if the books are standalone and have an HEA
ReplyDeleteYes, interesting recurring characters are fun. The books have to be standalone, no cliffhangers.
ReplyDeleteI love recurring characters but book must have a HEA. Congrats to all the RITA noms!

I absolutely love books with recurring characters! It's like visiting friends and families and you never have to let go of the ones you've come to love :)
ReplyDeleteRecurring characters are wonderful! That's one reason I love reading series so much! Congrats to all the RITA noms!! Those are some fabulous books. Eloisa James is one of my favorite authors and I've had that Sally McKenzie book in my TBR pile for a while.
ReplyDeleteI do like books with recurring characters. You learn a little bit more about them in each story so they really come alive for me.
ReplyDeleteYes because it gives series more depth i think and allows readers to connect with characters more besides just their initial book.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all of the nominees! I love books with recurring characters, as long as they are stand alone books. I like finding out what happens to the secondary characters and knowing that they get a HEA as well. Some of my favourite authors have created series based on family members, groups of friends and even towns. The one down side is I get never get my hands on the next book fast enough.
ReplyDeleteRecurring characters are like catching up with old friends. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love series, like Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series, where you get to revisit the characters from past books and always have a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the authors and thank you for bringing us such wonderful stories to read.
After you read a book you feel a part of the community or the family, so it's nice to find out what has happened in their lives, good or bad, as long as it's not a rehashing of the last book. I dislike repetition in books.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like books with recurring characters (as long as each book has a satisfactory ending of it's own). With a recurring character, one can feel like you begin to really know them. And you can 'keep up' with their lives.
