I'm thrilled to welcome Tyler Anne Snell back to the blog! She writes and reads a little bit of
everything but has a soft spot for thrillers, mysteries, and sexual tension.
When she isn't writing or reading, she's re-watching her favorite TV series or
playing video games. The first book she finished in one sitting was a Harlequin
Intrigue. It taught her to appreciate the power of a good book.
Tyler lives in Alabama with her same-named beau and
their mini lions.
She's
always been the boss—now she's the target.
As the newest member of Orion Security, Jackson Fields
had a lot to prove. But he never expected his first assignment would force him
to break every rule in the employee handbook. Nikki Waters has always put her
clients' protection first…until a nightmare from her past resurfaces. Now
Jackson must protect his boss to keep her life's work from crumbling. She'd
headhunted Jackson for his raw talent, and is counting on his determination to
make sure she lives another day. He has every intention of keeping her
safe—especially when his protective detail turns from professional to personal
in the blink of an eye.
READ A LITTLE, BUY THE BOOK
They went through the lobby, rode the elevator
up to the second floor and walked the length of the hallway until Jackson
stopped at 44B. He pulled out his key, unlocked the door and held it open for
her. Nikki slipped inside, trying to find a phrase or string of perfectly
placed words to fix whatever she’d broken. It was true, Jackson Fields annoyed
her to some degree and they’d gotten off on the wrong foot, but now it bothered
her that it bothered her that he was upset. How could a man affect her like this
in such a short time of knowing him?
The bodyguard locked the door behind her, took
the bag from her hand and put it down on a small table. For the first time
since the alley, he turned to face her.
“Listen, Jackson,” she started, no longer able
to stand the quiet. “I’m sorr—”
Jackson grabbed her face and crushed his lips
against hers. The momentum of the kiss pushed Nikki’s back flush against the
door, but the man didn’t pull away.
And Nikki realized she wasn’t pulling away,
either.
FUN FACTS WITH TYLER....
Tyler: So if you know me personally, or
really follow any of my author social media sits, you might have picked up on
two things about me. The first? I love to say “it’s fine” in almost every
situation. Fun fact: I make sure to put that in every book I write at least
once. Which brings me to the second thing…I love “fun facts” and often pepper
them into every conversation I can! So here are the most fun “fun facts” about
each of my Orion Security books, including my most recent release (as in Aug.
23/Sept. 1!) SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES!
Private Bodyguard’s FUN FACT: When I picked the hero’s name “Oliver” I immediately
paired it with the last name “Quinn.” While I’m a comic book nerd, I really
didn’t put together that I’d named a character so closely after the character
“Oliver Queen” aka the Green Arrow. Several people have approached me about how
cool it was that I named him after a comic book character! And while I actually
wished I had done it on purpose, FUN FACT: I just liked the way they sounded
together! Bonus fun fact: The only person I based my Oliver Quinn off of was
Actor Mike Vogel! Specifically his portrayal of Barbie in Stephen King’s TV series
UNDER THE DOME!
Full Force Fatherhood’s FUN FACT: Some already know this, and others have no idea so for
those in the latter category let me tell you one of my favorite FUN FACTS about
this series! In this book the heroine’s little girl is based off of my
real-life goddaughter! From how she looked at that age, to even what she played
with! Also another bonus fun fact: This book is my favorite of the series
overall! The end always makes me cry!
Be on the Lookout: Bodyguard’s FUN
FACT: If any of you have ever watched the
show FRINGE then you might get a similar vibe at times in this book. That’s probably
because I wrote it while binging the show! Also I think it helped with the creation
of a completely random character that I didn’t know existed until I was halfway
through the book. While the new addition wasn’t in my outline originally, I’m
so glad the character demanded to be in the book! They became one of my
favorite characters!
Suspicious Activities’ FUN FACT: This book made me very, very nervous. Why? Well because
it follows Orion founder and head honcho Nikki Waters! If you’ve read the three
books before this one you’ll see that Nikki makes an appearance in all of them
(her biggest role in Full Force Fatherhood). She’s my favorite overall
character for the series and I was so afraid I couldn’t do her justice.
However, I was very pumped on how she came out! Since this book is the
conclusion to the series (I know, I’m crying too) I wanted to make sure every
character found a good ending while giving Nikki the ending she deserved! I
think I nailed it! Bonus fun fact: I’m a huge CASTLE fan and wanted to make a
character nod to Castle’s character Nikki Heat! And that’s how Nikki got
her name!
And that’s it
for my most notable FUN FACTS for my Orion Security series! I hope you enjoy
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES as much as I did, and the series as a whole!

ReplyDeleteHaha! Yes! I would love to read that too ;)
DeleteGee, I have no idea what characters or show I would use as inspiration... I just love seeing what talented writers are able to come up with themselves...
ReplyDeleteYeah! It is fun to see what people come up with or how they put their own personal spin on an idea or character often used in books, TV, and movies!
