Meet Cassie Miles

HOSTAGE MIDWIFE
In a twist of fate, midwife Kelly Evans is the only person to hear the last words of a dying man. Although the words make no sense, someone thinks she knows more than she should. And millionaire playboy Nick Spencer may just be her fiercest protector. If his uncle was murdered, Nick fears the Spencer fortune is at risk. And worse, that Kelly, an innocent bystander, may be in danger. When a hostage situation traps Kelly within the killer's grasp, Nick knows he holds the key to her release. He'll do anything to save her life—even if it costs him his own.

What or who inspired the hero for HOSTAGE MIDWIFE?
CASSIE: My fantasy version of the gorgeous Jon Hamm – a guy who is big, competent, cool and has a sense of humor.

What or who inspired the heroine for HOSTAGE MIDWIFE?
CASSIE: A woman who finds the strength to deal with her failed marriage, reclaim her past and truly start over.  As a bonus, she gets a rich, handsome, eligible bachelor.

Is there a hero you’re just dying to write about for Intrigue?
CASSIE:  Hard question because I’ve written about many Intrigue guys who I’d love to meet.  Maybe somebody with super-powers, like flying or turning invisible.

Where would your hero “pop the question” to your heroine (hopefully no story spoilers)?
CASSIE: Since he’s a class act, I’d expect him to take her to a private chateau in Aspen or a 5 star hotel.  The ring would be pure gold from his family’s mine.

What’s the perfect Valentine’s Day date for your characters from HOSTAGE MIDWIFE?
CASSIE: Rock climbing.  (These people are nothing like me.)

GOTTA ASK: If you had to choose a movie to describe HOSTAGE MIDWIFE, which would it be?
CASSIE’S GOTTA ANSWER:  There’s a lot of DIE HARD in the hostage situation.
