Heard of Lexi Carmichael...You should!

NO STONE UNTURNED

A Lexi Carmichael Mystery, #11

Geek girl Lexi Carmichael thought getting engaged would mean calmer days ahead. But when Slash's past brings up more questions than answers, she's not going to let anything--or anyone--drive them apart.

Getting engaged is supposed to be a fun, exciting time in a girl's life. But things are never that easy for Slash and me. Instead, someone is threatening to expose Slash's past--a past so secret, even I know very little about it.

Before I can get used the weight of Nonna's antique ring on my finger, he's on his way to Rome...and we're farther apart than we've ever been. Still, I have no intention of sitting at home and letting him take on the Vatican by himself.

With a little expert-level hacking, I learn Slash is keeping secrets from me. Big ones. Dangerous ones. In fact, the more I dig into Slash's past, the more I discover things about him I never knew--things that eventually pit us against each other.

From Rome to the Amalfi coast to the highest levels of the Vatican, we both race to discover the truth. No matter what I find, we're officially a team now, so I won't let him face this alone. Even if I don't know if our relationship can survive it.

ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
JULIE: All the time. My brain has a thousand tabs open, but one tab is always actively working on the next book(s).

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
JULIE: My favorite thing about my heroine Lexi Carmichael is  that she’s such a conundrum. She’s smart enough to know she needs people and a life outside her “virtual existence,” but she doesn’t know quite how to go about it. Enter her best friend, Basia, who is essentially the expositional character in the series. She plays off Lexi’s inexperience and offers suggestions to help bring her out of her geek shell with sometimes (well, most of the time) unexpected results.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
JULIE: Star Wars IV: A New Hope. I remember being electrified in the movie theater the first time I saw it. It was so fresh, original and exciting. I still love it to this day!
ANGIA woman after my own heart !!

ANGI: Salad or soup?
JULIE: Gah! Too hard to answer. I love both soup and salad! Depends on my mood and the day.

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
JULIE: Action adventure for sure. Love the challenge, the figuring out the puzzles and problems and enjoy fast-paced action.

ANGI: Favorite TV rerun you watch every time you channel surf?
JULIE: Star Trek. Doesn’t matter which series version, although I have an extra spot for The Next Generation and Captain Picard.
ANGI: Now you’re just trying to get on my good side… LOVE Star Trek!

ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
JULIE: Casual out. Mostly so I don’t have to cook or do the dishes. J

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
JULIE: Pink champagne all the way, baby!

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
JULIE: Geek Girls Rule!!
ANGIPLEASE NOTE Julie’s bio pic.

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
JULIE: Underwater cave diving in Okinawa when I was a teenager. I lived there for three years while in high school. Looking back I realized how dangerous it was. But, it was extraordinarily beautiful and exciting!

When U.S. intelligence agencies invite teen geek and ace hacker, Angel Sinclair, and her friends to try out for a highly competitive school for government operatives, will she wash out or step into a future she never expected?

My name is Angel Sinclair and I'm the youngest senior at a high school for technologically-gifted students. School bored me until my friends and I were unexpectedly tapped to try out for a top-secret spy academy. I'm not sure I have what it takes to be an operative for the U.S. government, but my friends and I are going to give it our best shot.

But first I have to go up against uber-skilled candidates who can do a thousand push-ups, kill a person with a fingernail file, and make handcuffs out of paper clips. My only defining skills are my mad hacking abilities and extreme awkwardness. I don't know what kind of spy that would make me, but I'm not going down without a fight.

With my loyal friends by my side, we're in a race to finish at the top of the class. Together we have the smarts...but we'll have to battle our insecurities and work together or miss out on an adventure of a lifetime.

If you enjoy spy and mystery adventures, you'll like the White Knights series by Julie Moffett, YA/NA Mystery and Mayhem Award-winning author and writer of the popular geeky Lexi Carmichael mystery series. Try out Julie's fun, young adult series today!

Meet R. Weir and PI Jarvis Mann Mysteries

THE FRONT RANGE BUTCHER

A Jarvis Mann Private Detective HardBoiled Mystery Novel

Jarvis Mann Detective # 7

JARVIS MANN PI IS BACK IN HIS MOST DANGEROUS CASE YET

Twenty-two years ago, the slayings began, a new body nearly every month, front page news for all to read. Gruesome in nature, the victims nearly all female, the killer terrorizing the residents of Colorado’s biggest cities. Until one day the murders stopped leaving no clue, or closure. No one knew who he was, his motive for slaughtering them, and why the urge to kill suddenly ended.

Now, more than two decades later, the urge has resurfaced. Carved remains of loved ones left to be found, lives of families ruined, the slayings echoing an all too familiar case from a past once forgotten. Bold headlines return to the local papers, the police and FBI still just as helpless, even with today’s modern advancements. Has the killer resurfaced again? Why did they disappear for so long? How many more will brutally suffer the same horrendous fate?

Hired to find the serial killer, private detective Jarvis Mann digs deep, fighting FBI resistance, with life threatening danger lurking around every corner. His cunning leads to a man he must match wits with, a man the FBI can’t touch. Interrogating to get into his psyche in an all-out attempt to stop the insanity and bring him to justice. Cold and calculated, intelligent and coy, the man, wheelchair bound, holds the answers and the secrets. For he is the only one who could be the evil manifestation of: The Front Range Butcher.

Can Jarvis outwit such a mastermind, or has he met his match?

R. WEIR lives in the Mile High city with his wife, daughter and dog, where the Rocky Mountain High isn’t always achieved with an herbal substance. When not glued to the computer for work and writing, he relaxes by enjoying the outdoors; playing tennis, travelling in his motor home and riding a motorcycle wherever the wind takes him. My writing beckons back to the days of detectives and dames, but with modern plots and twists. PI Jarvis Mann is tough, resourceful and a man with as many faults as virtues. His oddball sense of humor is much like his author’s, though he’s not nearly as tough and fearless. Though no evil stands a chance against his written word!

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
R. WEIR: I’m usually lost in a story, especially when I’m writing. Whatever I’m currently working on can occupy my thoughts and invade my dreams until the book is finished. Once I’ve completed the project then it leaves me, until I start on the next story.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
R. WEIR: His snarky sense of humor. Even when facing danger, he uses humor to mask his fear and throw his opponent off guard. Other times it can backfire on him, but he’ll always have it in his defensive arsenal.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
R. WEIR: No one movie is my favorite, but being a big Marvel comic fan I love the Marvel Universe on film.

ANGI: What’s your perfect day?
R. WEIR: Spending an hour or two working in the yard, writing for several hours and then a relaxing evening with my family. That is a normal day these days, which I’m really enjoying.

ANGI: Salad or soup?
R. WEIR: Always soup. I don’t care for green food for some reason.

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
R. WEIR: Action Adventure all the way. Some think I’m Jarvis Mann, and since I write in first person, I’m vicariously living his action and adventures. Thankfully I’m not dodging fists and bullets like he is.

ANGI: Favorite TV rerun you watch every time you channel surf?
R. WEIR: MacGyver, the original one with Richard Dean Anderson. I always carry a swiss army knife with me as you never know when you might find a bomb that needs defusing!

ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
R. WEIR: Movie and dinner with my lovely wife somewhere casual, where jeans and t-shirt are welcome.

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
R. WEIR: Soda, though mostly water these days as I’m trying to cut down on the sugar.

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
R. WEIR: I’m actually both in many ways. I’m a computer IT person who can build a computer by hand and troubleshoot most software/hardware issues. And I’ve enjoyed athletics like tennis, softball and basketball since I was a teenager.

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
R. WEIR: I’m pretty passive. I let my characters do the daring things for me! 😊

ANGI’s GOTTA ASK:  Where is your favorite writing space & why?

R. WEIR’S GOTTA ANSWER: My desk in my office in the basement of our home. It’s quiet and my chair is comfortable. It’s where the magic happens!
