Juliana Stone

Today I'm excited to host a good buddy from Toronto Romance Writers, Juliana Stone.

Juliana Stone has always believed in the power of a good story. When her first narrative, a futuristic about Santa Claus set in a world that resembled her friend’s hamster cage was a hit with her fourth grade teacher, she discovered the joy of words. Something that has stayed with her ever since. Whether it was music or narrative, words became an important part of her life.

During a stint on the music end of things, (and yes she had the big hair, and equally big shoulder pads), she toured Canada fronting an all female rock band and after meeting her husband fell into married life. Kids, dog and the requisite white picket fence followed and her writing took a bit of a back seat.

But in the fall of 2007 she decided to take another stab at writing and inspired by the paranormal works of Christine Feehan, Keri Arthur and Lindsey Sands she set out to write something great. She ended up with an intriguing world of Jaguar Warriors and was grateful that Avon Books wanted to publish them!

Her latest release, His Darkest Salvation was released July 26, 2011 and the series heads into an exciting, new direction, with the next installment, Wicked Road to Hell, out April of 2012.

Of course you can’t compare it to the craziness of being a mother. Different animals, believe me!

Of my Jaguar Warriors books, which is your favorite character and why? I get a lot of email about Declan O’Hara and am wondering what it is about him that appeals to fans.

Juliana is generously offering a copy of either His Darkest Hunger or His Darkest Embrace to one lucky commenter chosen at random. Since she plans to order from The Book Depository, the book won't be signed BUT the giveaway is open to anyone in a country to which they ship! (Most places in the world.)

Because this post is going up on a weekend, we'll keep the contest open for comments made up to midnight eastern time on Monday.

Note: Offer void where prohibited. Odds of winning vary due to the number of entrants.

  1. The Jaguar Warriors series has been in my wishlist for the longest time... they still have to make it to the cheap second hand market where I could afford them :)

  2. Hi Juliana,
I can't say I have a favourite jaguar warrior I haven't met any of yours yet! Shapeshifters are still new to me but I can certainly see their appeal. So far, your books are the first I've heard of jaguars and the image I am getting is of slick feline predators. I have a hunch they also have a huge heart as well. I like to connect emotionally with characters and they are the best way to lose myself in a book.

  3. Ohhh... I love Belize too!
So beautiful and wild and the people I met were wonderful!

And I love Jaguars (the animal AND the car). I have to check out your Jaguar Warrior series!

  4. Unfortunately, I have not read any of your books yet so I can't have a favorite character.
They are definately on my wishlist though. I love a good paranormal romance story and yours have been getting some great reviews.

  5. Great Interview, Juliana. I visited Belize for the first time last year and loved it. And I spend most of my Sundays in my pool, reading!

  6. Great interview. I have not read any of your books but I would like to. They sound very good. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com

  7. Hey Juliana,

We met at the critiquing meeting at TRW in February (?) I've been writing furiously, which means I'm not reading much, which means...Your books are still on my to-read list. Guess that means I so deserve to win. Pick me, pick me!

Maureen and GLIAS team, so looking forward to being Angi's guest on August 16.

  8. Thanks for joining us today, Juliana. Awesome interview.

  9. Hi Juliana, Nice to meet you :) Even haven't read any of your books, but will surely be on the lookout from now on!

Jaguars or any shifters, I think, hold a dark, sensual edge to them, from their feral instincts to finding their mates ;) Oooh.. Just too hot, in my opinion!! No wonder we love them ;)

Thanks for the fab giveaway! Count me in. judimello AT gmail DOT com

  10. Winner, chosen at random.org is....
