I asked each author who their favorite character in their book within the boxed set is?

Tartan MP3 Player cover
C.A. Szarek

The hero of my story, Duncan MacLeod. He’s yummy, of course, but a caring family man who fights for what’s right, as well as what he wants. He’s tough on the outside, and mushy on the inside and he loves hard. I just love him. Oh, and he wears a kilt. What’s not to adore?

A Tumble through Time cover
Callie Hutton

My Favorite character is probably Marshal Shannon. He is so perplexed by this strange woman who dresses scandalously and doesn’t seem to know her place. Women should not be doing what this woman does.

Highland Sorcerer coverClover Autrey
(Okay yeah, I asked myself too. Awkward)

I'd have to say my heroine, Charity Greves. She's an out-of-the-box thinker who rolls with being a modern woman thrown into the 13th Century and is brave enough to admit when she's messed something up and then brush her borrowed kirtle off and figure out how to fix it. I also love the thoughts that sprout in her head. I mean, traveling back to mingle with dashing Scotsmen is romantic and all, but a gal is simply going to miss plumbing and Diet Coke.
Wouldn't you?

Bridge over Time cover
Brenda Hiatt

Probably the best friend Annette, in the modern parts of the story. She's the one who gets to live my fantasy of showing the girl from the past all the wonders of the twenty-first century. She's also loosely based on an actual friend of mine, which made her great fun to write!

Smooch cover
Laura Marie Altom

Wolfe!! At first, this bad-boy Medieval prince seems hopelessly overbearing and full of himself, but over the course of the story, he ends up being a sweetheart I fell in love with, and so does his heroine, Lucy!

Ridgeway coverLouise Clark

Jaclyn Sinclair, my time travelling heroine. I love that she’s up to the challenge of surviving in a world she’s only read about and how she manages to twist all the males she meets around her finger, even though she’s a modern, liberated female masquerading as a boy. I also admit to having a soft spot for Sean O’Dell, my Fenian hero.
Defiant Surrender cover
Tamara Gill

My heroine, Maddie (Madeline). She’s feisty and no matter how much she knows she should not, she doesn’t take any bullying from her medieval husband. I just love her gumption.

The middle of nowhere just got a lot more interesting!

Nerdy astronomy geek Marsha, M to her few friends, has never been anybody special. Orphaned as an infant and reluctantly raised by an overly-strict "aunt," she's not even sure who she is. M's dream of someday escaping tiny Jewel, Indiana and making her mark in the world seems impossibly distant until hot new quarterback Rigel inexplicably befriends her. As Rigel turns his back on fawning cheerleaders to spend time with M, strange things start to happen: her acne clears up, her eyesight improves to the point she can ditch her thick glasses, and when they touch, sparks fly--literally! When M digs for a reason, she discovers deep secrets that will change her formerly mundane life forever . . . and expose her to perils she never dreamed of. Yes, the middle of nowhere just got a lot more interesting!

CLOVER: How often to you get lost in a story?
BRENDA: Not as often as I'd like! I spend so much time writing these days that I don't have nearly as much reading time as I used to. But when I do get a chance to sink into a book, I ADORE getting swept up in it to the point it becomes hard to re-focus on the "real" world.

CLOVER: What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?
BRENDA: Stare at the last line in disbelief (am I really DONE??) then celebrate! I've trained my hubby well that typing "The End" totally merits a nice dinner out--and sometimes roses. :)

CLOVER: If you were given a chance to travel to the past where would you go and specifically why?
BRENDA: Probably Regency England, because I've written so many (13 to date) books set there. It would be fascinating (and probably very eye-opening!) to see how closely all of my research matches the real thing! Also, just absorbing how the people lived, talked, played, ate, worked, etc. would be a life-changing experience, I'm sure! I wouldn't want to stay forever, though. I'd miss modern medicine--and flush toilets!--too much! LOL!

CLOVER: I love that we are in a boxed set together with books focusing on time travel. Tell us a little about the book you have in this set.
BRENDA: For years, I fantasized about how much fun it would be if a girl from the past suddenly landed in the present and I got to show her around "my" world, watching her reactions to everything that was so very different from what she was used to. At the same time, I also imagined traveling back in time to see how things REALLY were back then. Bridge Over Time is how I fulfilled both fantasies, by having my two heroines switch places in time and go through both the hassles and the wonders of learning about and fitting into their new settings. (And falling in love with totally unexpected men, of course!)

CLOVER: What do you have coming up next?
BRENDA: Starfall, the 4th and final book in my Starstruck series of young adult science fiction  romances.

Brenda would like to know: Do you mostly stick to one genre/subgenre as a reader, or do you read several? (And if several, which ones?)
