WE'VE BEEN GETTING LOST FOR ONE YEAR

A year of "Getting Lost". You'd think we'd pull over for directions, but we like it.

THANKS to all the readers for stopping by and we hope you'll join us on our journey for another fun-filled year.
THANKS to all the authors who have given their time and work. It's fun discovering how everyone loves to "Get Lost."
THE CREW is continually humbled by all the deadlines we've been blessed with. Seriously, it's wonderful to have deadlines which means we've sold more books. You can get all the details on each member of the crew by clicking on our pages above...but here's a little update and what the give-aways are today.

SIMONE
BOOK GIVE-AWAY: ARC of THE HAUNTING OF MADDY CLARE

What a great year it's been! In the summer I got the final version of my beautiful cover, which you see here. I am in love with it. I also launched my website, www.simonestjames.com, and I'll be adding lots of content which I'm working on right now - there is going to be some great behind the scenes stuff. And lastly, I am just about to turn in my second book to my editor, which will be out in March 2013. It doesn't have a title yet (I'm terrible at titles!) but I'll just say it's another ghost story set in the 1920s. It features a brilliant Oxford student who must investigate death of her very eccentric uncle, the ghost hunter. In order to find out what happened, she has to follow his very last case...

THE HAUNTING OF MADDY CLARE releases March 6, 2012, and I'm excited to give away an ARC here!

MAUREEN
BOOK GIVE-AWAYS: CINDERELLA: NINJA WARRIOR
SLEEPING BEAUTY: VAMPIRE SLAYER
THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF TIME TRAVEL ROMANCE

It's been an exciting year for me too! Not only have I seen the simultaneous release of my first two novels, Cinderella: Ninja Warrior and Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer, I've been contracted to write three more!

No, they aren't in the same series. Yes it's a trilogy. Yes, they are Young Adult, but very different from the Twisted Tales, and no... I can't say much more right now, but I hope to very soon.

I can announce, however, that I sold a short story to an educational publisher in Canada that will be included in an anthology for high school students. It's kind of thrilling and exciting to me that high school kids might have to read my story in class.

I also just found out that my books, (Cinderella: Ninja Warrior, anyway) are now available as e-books! They don't seem to be available in Canada, however, so I haven't actually seen the e-book version for myself, but if you live in the US, you can buy kindle versions of my books now! And I'm contacting my publisher to find out why they aren't available in Canada. :(

It's been a fun year on this blog--has it really been a year?? Looking forward to celebrating my fellow bloggers' 2012 releases and discovering lots of new authors to get lost with. :)

Keep in touch!

JILLIAN STONE
Book Giveaway: A signed ARC of AN AFFAIR WITH MR. KENNEDY

WHEW! It's been a whirlwind year as I have spent the last twelve months writing two more novels in The Gentlemen of Scotland Yard series, AN INTRIGUE WITH DETECTIVE LEWIS and A PRIVATE DUEL WITH AGENT GUNN for Pocket Books. Think of the Yard men as late Victorian James Bond-style agents, complete with spy gadgetry!
AN AFFAIR WITH MR. KENNEDY releases January 31, 2012, so I will be back here for a few days in February with a contest and giveaways!
Over the course of 2012, I will be writing the second and third novels in the PHAETON BLACK, PARANORMAL DETECTIVE series. The story begins with THE SEDUCTION OF PHAETON BLACK, continues in THE MOONSTONE & MISS JONES and concludes in THE MISS EDUCATION OF DOCTOR EXETER for Kensington Brava. These novels follow occult detective, Phaeton Black through the gaslit lanes of late Victorian London after seductive women and unspeakable creatures.
THE SEDUCTION OF PHAETON BLACK releases in April of 2012 and the next two novels in 2013. BTW, I enjoy chatting with readers and answering your questions about the characters as well as the time period and setting for all the novels. Let's chat!
It has been both a joy and a wonderful privilege to be a part of GET LOST IN A STORY. I have made some wonderful connections and friendships through this blog and I am looking forward to another great year!
Stop by my website anytime. I am always running a contest or giveaway promotion!

HEATHER

Book Giveaway: Since I don't have any ARCs of Sweet Enemy, I will give away winner's choice of Sweet Enemy as soon as it's released, or if you are into instant gratification, a signed copy of Grace Burrowe's The Heir along with a bookmark and romance trading cards!

I can't believe it's been a year since we started GLIAS! What a fun time we've had getting to know authors and readers alike.
For me, it's been a quiet year, professionally and a hectic year personally :). In July, we welcomed a son, who joined big brother who is three--affectionately known on my social media sites as The Heir and The Spare (a little historical romance author humor--not how we look at them, of course!).

My husband also was away a good part of the year finishing up his MBA on top of his career. Most of the last half of the year has gone by in a sleepless blur, but I did manage to finish my second book (which is why I haven't been around much lately) and am now getting ready to start on the third.
Next year promises to be busier in the professional realm.
SWEET ENEMY releases February 7, 2012 and the next in the Veiled Seduction Series, SWEET DECEPTION follows on August 7. I plan to be signing at the RT Booklovers Convention in Chicago in April, as well as RWA Literacy Signing in Anaheim in July.

SWEET ENEMY will also be releasing from Random House Mondadori in Spanish in February. Here's the cover! The series also sold in Turkey, but I have no news on when the books will be released there.

Finally, don't forget to stop by my Facebook page, where I am giving away 2 books a week by awesome historical authors from now until SWEET ENEMY is released.  Then, from Feb 1-7, I'll be giving away  2 signed books a day!  Just click on the New To You contest tab.

Looking forward to another great year Getting Lost in Storied with Angi, Donnell, Cat, Maureen, Jillian, Simone and most of all, all of YOU!  Thanks for being here with us :)
DONNELL
BOOK GIVE-AWAY: Of course! A signed copy of THE PAST CAME HUNTING.

One year already? Well, so it is! What a fun-filled year getting to know our fabulous guest authors, but more so, getting to know THE GET LOST CREW. These women, while generous in promoting other authors, are amazingly talented in their own rights. It's my absolute privilege to join with Angi, Maureen, Cat, Jillian, Heather and Simone.
This time last year I signed my first contract with BelleBooks/ Bell Bridge Books. What do I have to show for it? Just look at the pretty cover next door, designed by the fabulous Debra Dixon. I have more good news as well. Bell Bridge Books has offered me a two-book contract for my 2010 Golden Heart finaling novel, DEADLY RECALL, to be released sometime in 2012 and a third suspense due out in 2013.
It's been a whirlwind year of Getting Lost in a Story. We hope our readers have enjoyed the ride!

CAT
BOOK GIVE-AWAY: A WIN-WIN PROPOSITION

I just received a sneak peek for my third Harlequin Desire cover, UNFINISHED BUSINESS, coming out in April 2012, and it captures the tone of the story perfectly. I can't wait to share it with everyone. What a year it's been since we launched this site a year ago. I had two books hit the shelves (June and October), I sold four more stories to Desire (October 2011, April, September, November 2012) and my 2010 Golden Heart winning story to Carina Press (April 2012).

Because we're a group of debut authors, I've enjoyed watching the covers appear on the side as each of our books drew closer to publication. It's also been exciting to have so many authors join us for interviews and all of you who've been with us on this journey. Thanks for a great year. Hope we enjoy many more together.

ANGI
BOOK GIVE-AWAY: .38 CALIBER COVER-UP

I'm so glad to add DANGEROUS MEMORIES (working title) to my list of Intrigues: .38 CALIBER COVER-UP & HILL COUNTRY HOLDUP.

What an exciting year for all of The Crew. It's been so wonderful experiencing the debut novels of my Golden Heart sisters and our adopted sibling (Simone), with even more to come in 2012. And to see the cover art growing with each release and foreign sale. Just great. We're all glad to be a part of introducing more authors and genres to our readers and hope each of you will spread the word of our favorite readers' blog. Please come back and 'Get Lost' as often as possible.

I'd love to chat with you. Find me twice a month on the eharlequin.com/Intrigue Author Blog. Each day you'll find another photo on A PICTURE A DAY by ANGI MORGAN (connect via my website). OR chat with me on Facebook (Fan page & Angi Morgan) or Twitter (@AngiMorganAuthr). Any way you prefer, I love to talk (just ask any of The Crew).

Take a looksey at the Australian/New Zealand book covers and Book Trailers (created by my most awesome husband) on my Facebook page.

  1. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY EVERYBODY !!

I hope everyone has a cool question to add to our list for the guests. Christy Reece will be here on the 14th and said, "Read through the questions and have to tell you I love them. They're different from the usual questions and really make me think."

Hope everyone will bring a friend to our party and Tweet us throughout the day!

  14. Happy Blog Anniversary! As a reader I appreciate learning about the authors and their books. Many were new to me. Cheers to getting lost in many stories. I spy a fantastic line up of books already released from the Get Lost in a Story authors and some upcoming. One of them is Heather Snow's debut of Sweet Enemy. I can't wait for that :)

I think all the interviews are one and I think it would be fun to have a "flash" interview with the characters. You already have this for the authors but characters would be cool too. Or bloppers in stories. Keep up the wonderful blog.
