Do You Believe in Love and Magic?

Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,

Chasing Love & Magic
Sandra Sookoo

Welcome to Crystal Falls, Indiana.  There’s something magical about this tiny town filled with love and laughter.

Come grab a meal at Peg’s Place diner, where the conversation is as warm as the cooking.

Drop by Just Cookies, the little bakery with a big heart, where you’ll meet Jinx Adams, baker extraordinaire who may, or may not, be a leprechaun.

And then there’s Landon Bernhardt, co-owner of the bakery, who recently broke the news that he’s a nephew of Santa Claus.

Down on your luck in love?  No problem. Landon’s brother, Aaron, is the new Cupid and he’ll patch up your romantic ills.

Need a place to stay?  Try Mrs. Wiggins’s boardinghouse, just don’t expect to get a decent meal there.  She’s not a very good cook and she’s kind of… mysterious.

Have a dental issue while in town?  No worries.  Swing by Sparkling Smiles Dentistry and ask for Zoe Nickles.  She’s the best hygienist there, but don’t tell anyone she also moonlights as a sexy tooth fairy.

Please don’t mention magic to Zoe’s sister, Rosemary.  She doesn’t have a magical bone in her body, but that doesn’t mean special energy won’t follow her home during the Halloween season.

Wander around and enjoy your visit!  If you feel “at home” here, you’d better talk to Mrs. Wiggins.  She’ll know exactly what to do with you… and if you’re lucky, you just might find yourself chasing love and magic.

There is something about Sandra that sparkles...or maybe it really is fairy dust.

Sandra is a writer of romantic fiction.  Her portfolio includes historical, contemporary, sci-fi and paranormal romances in full length as well as shorts.  She loves to blend genres, spice them up and often times will add humor as well.

When not immersed in creating new worlds and interesting characters, Sandra likes to read, bake and travel.  Her favorite place to spend vacation hours is Walt Disney World.  It’s where dreams come true and the soul can play.  When she’s not writing, she’s keeping things interesting at the Believing is Seeing blog or spending time with her husband.

Jillian: What is it about Crystal Falls, Indiana that makes it so magical?
Sandra:  It’s a special little place where folks who are “inclined” to magic can come and meet fate.  It’s also a place where a certain amount of matchmaking occurs.

Jillian: When you created Peg's Diner, did you also come up with a menu? What's Peg's Special today?
Sandra: LOL I kinda did! Typical diner food, I even have a meatloaf recipe floating around the web that I used for promo at one time.

Jillian: I once had a fantasy to start a cupcake shop. Just Cookies sounds like...just cookies! What's in the oven? And please share a bit about Jinx Adams, baker extraordinaire, and Aaron’s brother Landon.
Sandra: Well, at one time I was a caterer, and I love to bake, so a lot of the cookies the Bernhart brothers come up with are from my own kitchen.  Jinx may or may not be a female leprechaun. She was hired on at the bakery to help Aaron once Landon went on to fulfill his destiny as the next Santa Claus.  Landon is a nephew of Santa (who happens to look like a hunky Viking). He fought against the North Pole influence for a long time before he gave in.

Jillian: I understand Crystal Falls has a town cupid (every town should have one of those) Tell us about him.
Sandra: Aaron is the new cupid, and boy did he fight that all the way, but became resigned to his new job once his wings came in LOL! His only trouble is his own failures in romance land.

Jillian: I suppose with all the cookie eating going on in Crystal Falls, one should visit a good dental hygienist, like Zoe Nickles. I understand she also has a sister, Rosemary, who is fairly magic-less???
Sandra: Is she? Maybe… Poor Rosemary isn’t magically inclined and it grates on her nerves, especially when a wolf shifting fireman swaggers into her life.  It’s especially wearing because her sister is the Tooth Fairy!

Jillian: I understand Mrs. Wiggins is the lady to talk to if you're interested in Chasing Love & Magic...
Sandra: LOL Well, she’s definitely the glue holding Crystal Falls together.  I won’t say she orchestrates the comings and goings but…

  1. Welcome back to Get Lost in a Story Sandra,

Hermione Granger is my pick for favorite magical heroine. I picture her drawing her wand against Draco Malfoy, as well as producing a bouquet of flowers to put on Harry's parent's grave. She also has that wonderful magical beaded bag!

  3. Great interview, Sandra!

I think I'm going old-school, too, and saying Samantha Stevens. I'd love to be able to wiggle my nose and do anything!

  4. I was on the Harry Potter band wagon well before my kids were old enough to read them. I started with them when the 3rd book was just released and I was holed up at home after surgery for a few weeks. Goblet of Fire was my first midnight party to buy a book! :)

  6. The first one I thought of was Samantha from Bewitched. I always thought it would be great to wiggle my nose and make things happen.

  7. For an old time heroine with magic powers, I'd go with Jeannie, from I Dream of Jeannie. For a current heroine, I'd pick Gin Blanco from Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series.

  8. Gotta admit, I loved Samantha from Bewitched too. Think I even tried wiggling my nose as a kid--just in case.

  9. My favorite magical person of all time is PETER PAN! When I was a kid we pretended to play out the story and I HAD to be Peter Pan! My mom took me to the play (and I was so excited to see that a WOMAN played Peter) and my favorite place at Disney is still flying over the Darling's house!!
