Kat & Logan & Robin Perini

CHRISTMAS CONSPIRACY
Harlequin Intrigue
ISBN-10: 0373696485

Four years ago, girl-next-door Kat Nelson had gone from being a tempting assignment to the fling P.I. Logan Carmichael never forgot. Now he's been hired to find her by a king claiming Kat was heir to the throne. Locating her wasn't difficult.

Learning he was the father of her toddler twins, however, made him ache. But his job was to protect her from a madman who wanted her dead, and keep her away from the king who needed her alive. And yet one look at his children made the steely CIA vet yearn to be more than just a bodyguard. Defusing bombs and taking out terrorists wasn't as scary as being a father—and didn't get his heart racing as much as the thought of spending every night by Kat's side.…

ROBIN
National Bestselling and award-winning author Robin Perini is devoted to giving her readers fast-paced, high-stakes adventure with a love story sure to melt their hearts. Her mission's motto: "When danger and romance collide, no heart is safe." After seven prestigious Romance Writers of America® Golden Heart® finals, Robin has since sold ten novels. She won the Golden Heart® in 2011, and that title became her first Harlequin Intrigue, FINDING HER SON (March 2012). Residing in the southwestern United States, by day, she works for an advanced technology corporation, and in her spare time, you might find her giving one of her many nationally acclaimed writing workshops or training in competitive small-bore rifle silhouette shooting.

She is the author of IN HER SIGHTS (Montlake, 2011), FINDING HER SON, COWBOY IN THE CROSSFIRE and CHRISTMAS CONSPIRACY (Harlequin Intrigue 2012). In 2013, she continues her Montgomery Justice novels for Montlake, with BEHIND THE LIES, and later that year two more books for Harlequin Intrigue set in the fictional town of Carder, Texas.

KAT & LOGAN
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
KAT: Every night at bedtime. Logan has taken to reading bedtime stories to our twins, Hayden and Lanie. He really gets into character. I bet most of his CIA buddies wouldn’t believe the vision of him acting out Goldilocks and the Three Bears. See, even now he’s blushing a bit.

ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
LOGAN: My dad didn’t like me reading, he preferred me working the ranch, but my mom, she made sure I learned to read. She introduced me to Tarzan, and I couldn’t get enough of those books.

ANGI: What’s your favorite “love” word?
KAT: Ummm…well…Logan used to call me honey. It made me feel warm and cozy, though I didn’t let him know that for a long time. Now, though, he calls me…this is embarrassing…my queen. The thing is, I know when he says it, he’s telling me he loves me and supports me no matter what…and that he wants me. Wow, this is embarrassing.

ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
LOGAN: No, cause if I told you his name I’d have to kill you. Really.

ANGI: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
KAT: I didn’t believe in fairy tales for a long time. Until Logan. Now, I guess I have to say I agree with Lanie. Cinderella is my favorite. She didn’t let her life get her down. I almost did, then Hayden and Lanie gave me hope, and Logan proved to me anything was possible.

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
LOGAN: That’s a no-brainer. Bugs bunny. He always outwits the bad guys.

ANGI: What do you like best about Logan?
KAT: That’s easy. Logan would sacrifice anything for me and our children. No question, no hesitation. I know we’re safe with him. Not only physically, but our hearts are safe in his hands. Besides, he plays a wicked game of Go Fish!

ANGI: What’s on your playlist?
LOGAN: Guns and Roses…what else?

ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
KAT: I don’t have much time to read these days, but I must say that when I can take a bit of time, I like curling up in a loveseat with Logan. Sometimes, reading gets taken over by more…interesting pursuits.

ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
LOGAN: Hayden and Lanie’s laughter. Didn’t know I’d love that sound until I met them, but now, I can’t get enough of it.

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
KAT: I’m living the fairy tale. How can I want anything else? And I’ve had enough action and adventure for a while. One dungeon is enough for me.

ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
LOGAN: Dad would have skinned me alive if he knew…or at the very least burned up the papers, but I wrote my own take on Tarzan once. Except I took my mom and moved to Africa to live in the jungle away from him. My mom cried all the time in my story because we left our ranch, but we were safe there. Sorry, I’m getting too personal. Next question.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
KAT: I never watched movies when I was young. We didn’t have the money and couldn’t afford cable television. Now, it’s all about the kids’ movies. I gotta say, I love Mulan. It took me a long time to find the courage within. I didn’t belief in my own abilities, in my own value for a long, long time. I want to teach Lanie and Hayden to have that belief. Logan helped me see my own worth. I have no doubt he’ll do the same for our children.

ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
LOGAN: Don’t like any of them, actually. I’ve faced too many real villains to enjoy reading about them. I’ll take Dr. Seuss these days anytime, anyplace.

ANGI: What is your biggest vice?
KAT: Sometimes I sneak down in the kitchen for Moose Tracks Extreme Chocolate ice cream. There’s just something about chocolate these days…and pickles. I kinda like to dip pickles in the chocolate. But that’s another story…

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Tell us Robin, how was it working with Kat & Logan --and let’s not forget the twins. >>grin<<
ROBIN’S GOTTA ANSWER: Logan can be stubborn. He doesn’t always do what I expect, but I’m so glad he found Kat and the kids. He needed love more than he ever realized. And Kat, well she fought so hard all her life—and always on her own. I love how Logan cherishes her. She might be royalty now, but Logan makes her feel like a queen on the inside. He’s one of the good ones.

As for the kids, well, let’s just say Logan and Kat will have all the adventure they can handle keeping up with those two…and any more munchkins that might come along…<wink>.

  3. Hi everyone...so, this time we're asking what you'd do if you were royalty! Hmmm...I must admit, getting lost in a castle might be a blast, but truthfully, I would hope I could inspire others...particularly for the cause of literacy. I would like to help others learn to read. I think reading opens up so many doors. It's such a gift.

What would you do if you learned you were royalty? Be it a charity, a luxury or something else.

  4. The first thing I would do is faint. Then I would jump up and down. After that I would get serious and think about making the lives of my subjects better.

    1. Ditto on the fainting! And I think I'd have to whirl around the castle and try on some clothes and maybe have high tea. Then I'd probably get serious, too!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!

  5. Hi Robin,

What a fun question. I would do something to help with literacy also. Help other learn to read. Of course luxury does sound nice too.

  6. Hi Robin! If I suddenly found out I was royalty I was set to work on creating an in-home library, something like the one from Beauty and the Beast. I would have so much fun adding books to the collection and decorating the room.

  12. I think if I were suddenly royalty, I would pay off all by debts and my family's debts so that we would not have to worry about that. I guess I would finally break down and buy myself some stuff, it seems like I am always buying something for my son! Haha
