Elves, Dragons and Sinister Plots

The Sword of Light is missing.
Innocent Fae nobles are slaughtered.
And now someone wants Princess Elyne’s head.

ONLY FOR A KNIGHT
Realm of Honor, Book Two
Ellora's Cave Blush

After saving her love, Princess Elyne returns to the Otherworld by order of her mother. But it’s not the homecoming she expects. Furious Elyne has meddled with humans, the queen imprisons her and strips away her magic. The only way Elyne can get it back is to perform one selfless act.

When Queen Maeve sends Derron to find the Guardian of the Sword of Light, he can’t leave without releasing Elyne. After all, she altered time to save his life. But freeing the princess comes with a steep price—he must take her with him on this dangerous quest. And the two must deal with feelings of past hurt and the love growing between them.

Their search becomes more than a pursuit for the missing Guardian as Lord Kieran rises to dominate the Unseelie court. He will stop at nothing to gain control of both the Otherworld and the human realm. Even with the help of Elves, dragons and their human friends, the odds are stacked against Derron and Elyne.

“Best way to kill a man, princess. How does it feel?”
Splendid. Though she was certain he meant the dagger in her hand. “It feels
like a dagger.”
He chuckled and released her. “You’ll need this too.” He untied the sheath
from his thigh. “But a lady, nay a princess, shouldn’t keep that in plain
sight.”
“Why not?”
“She is more lethal with a hidden weapon.”A mischievous light twinkled in his eyes, making her heart do a quick kathunk in her chest. Derron knelt at her feet, his gaze still on hers. When his
hand went up her skirt and rested on her calf, she nearly came undone.
Slowly, he slid his hand along her leg, pushing up her skirt to reveal an
expanse of creamy white skin. Her heart throbbed, pounding wildly in her
chest and ears. Her breath caught in her throat.
Elyne watched as he tied the sheath to her thigh in the same manner. She’d
swear she could still feel the warmth of his skin on it as he secured it in
place.
“There. The dagger?” He held his hand up for it.
She placed the pearl hilt in his palm and he deftly slid it into the sheath. All
the while keeping his hands in constant contact with her leg.
“That should do it.” Derron rose to his full height.
He had two inches on her, his hair brushing his forehead as he gave her a
wicked smile. He knew what he was doing and he liked doing it. She liked
him doing it. Why did he touch her so intimately when they’d been at odds
for so long? He’d gone to the court to have their betrothal broken and now
this?
“Feel better, princess?”
“I—”
But that was as far as she got when an arrow went zooming between them
and buried in the ancient oak beside her head.

FINDING THE ANSWERS
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
MICHELLE: As often as possible! When I finish a book, I immediately start a new one. I love a good story that pulls me in, hooks me and keeps me in the pages until the end.

ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
MICHELLE: Great question! As a young adult, I remember reading two books that have stuck with me: The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia McKillip and Road to Paradise Island by Victoria Holt.

ANGI: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
MICHELLE: Cinderella. She has great shoes.

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
MICHELLE: Tom & Jerry – especially the one where they’re chasing each other and trying to be quiet so they don’t wake up the puppy. And Jerry puts those bicycle horns on Tom’s feet and when he runs it makes that honking sound. That slays me. *wipes tears from eyes*

ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
MICHELLE: He’s sexy (duh), great with a sword and he would do anything to save his princess, even die for her. They have a very tumultuous relationship, so they go through a lot to get their HEA. It’s worth every minute, though.

ANGI: Is there a playlist you’d recommend for reading your latest release?
MICHELLE: I love to write to the music from TWO STEPS FROM HELL. If you haven’t heard them, check them out on iTunes.

ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
MICHELLE: As often as I can, on my Nook, and wherever I can. I’m a sucker for a good story.

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
MICHELLE: Both! I look for books that combine both.

ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
MICHELLE: It was a horrible science fiction about a girl who walks through a mirror and is transported to a space ship where she’s caught in an epic battle of good vs. evil. I hand wrote it on notebook paper, front and back. I think it ended up with over 200 sheets. I have no idea where it went, sadly.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
MICHELLE: Raiders of the Lost Ark
ANGI: Oh but of all of the Indiana Jones movies, I gotta go with THE LAST CRUSADE... "Aaaahhh Venice." "Go through them? Are you crazy?"  LOL

ANGI: What is your biggest vice?
MICHELLE: Cupcakes. Red velvet ones.

ANGI: How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?
MICHELLE: Best job in the world!

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Okay Michelle, I know you're a native Texan…so how is it that you love hockey more than Football or Baseball? Where did this love begin?
MICHELLE'S GOTTA ANSWER: HA! I am a native Texan and grew up on both football and baseball. I think my distaste with football came with the whole Jerry Jones/Tom Landry debacle – true Cowboys fans NEVER forget, Jerry. It’s all been downhill since then. ;) I started watching the Dallas Stars when they hit town in the early 90s and followed them religiously, especially the Cup year (1999 in case you were wondering). I knew every stat and everything about that team that year. Joe Nieuwendyk was my favorite player and MVP. I have a signed jersey and had a total swoon fan-girl moment when he signed it for me. My hubby is a Rangers fan so we watch a lot of baseball, which is great because it’s off season for hockey. Incidentally,
Gentry is my favorite Ranger.

  3. WELCOME TO GLIAS, Michelle !
My favorite sport? Most of the time it's baseball/softball. I'm not stats-crazy, but I love how many games they play and even with the same players, how every game is completely different.

    GO RANGERS!

  4. Hi Michelle, so glad you came to visit today. I was never a hockey fan until my son played it through his school years. Now, I enjoy it and at least understand the rules! I have to say, though, that you can thank us up here in Minnesota for your passion. Your Stars were our Minnesota North Stars and there are people up here who (despite our new love affair with the Minnesota Wild) have never forgiven the Stars for leaving!

My game is baseball, hands down. Haven't much time for football mentality but baseball, despite all it's internal issues, is still a sport that takes precision skill and lots of quick thinking. I love the finesse!

Love your book premise too--can't wait to pick it up and check it out! Best of luck.

    1. I remember well when the North Stars moved down here. We were SO HAPPY to finally have hockey. :) And I've been watching them ever since. Love them.

Thanks for having me here today! And hope you enjoy the book!

  5. Love reading the excerpt! My favorite sport is archery. My husband dabbled in it before we met (52 years ago) and we took it up as a family sport when our first children were little. My husband and son and his family are still very active. They shoot in leagues and tournaments and all of us have won many titles.
