Sooooo, What's Up With Alexa?

Hi there! Happy Friday! I'm taking a break to spend time with you. I love LOVE spending time with other people who love books. I had hoped to have a new cover to show you today, but it hasn't been delivered yet. So you'll have to wait. In the meantime, I'll fill you in on the kinda busy world I'm living in.

For my day job, I work as a middle school English teacher. Yep, I put up with hormones and attitude and people who think I'm stupid because I'm over the age of 20. Why do I do it? Because I love it....most days. This last week I've been focused on grading papers so I could be ready today for turning those grades in for report cards. Whew! I'm almost done!

When I'm not researching projects or writing lesson plans or grading papers, I'm usually busy writing or doing some work related to writing. At the moment, I just finished another round of edits for my next book, DANCE AWAY, DANGER. That comes out in January.

Tonight I'm going to start another round of edits on a different book that will come out in the spring. It's called LIAR, LIAR. (This is the one I was hoping to have a cover for.)

Neither of these books is set in the UK, like all my other books, but I do have another contracted UK book that I'll be working on soon.

Oh yeah, and I'm writing a brand new novella with a bit of a paranormal twist to it. I'm only writing a few words a day on that one, but it's coming along. Then next month I intend to revise a holiday story I wrote 2 years ago and haven't had a chance to get back to.

So, a real world for fun and relaxation? What's that????? But I do try to read or watch TV for at least an hour each night. AND I'm starting to get myself back to the gym AND I'm making plans with friends. Plus, there are a couple of movies I want to see. Hmmm, I better be careful here or I won't be getting any work done!

I hope your world isn't as busy as mine and I hope you get a chance to stop and smell the roses, as they say. If you're interested in holiday romantic suspense stories, take a peek at my SIMPLE TREASURES. It's a contemporary story set in Edinburgh, Scotland during Hogmanay (which is also called New Year's). Whatever you do have a great weekend. Me? I'm off to do my edits!

  1. Hi Alexa,
I feel your pain about the hormones. My daughter is 14 and Wow- this has been a fun year with my drama queen! I can't even imagine a whole classroom full of them!

  3. Tammy, sometimes I have to remember to take a deep breath before I talk to them. Thanks, Angi! I've discovered over the last few months that writing new material, even only a few words a day, calms me and makes me happy. So I'll keep doing that!
