Take a Walk on the Wildside with Irene Preston!

Folks, help me welcome Irene Preston back with us! Irene is a good friend and an AWESOME writer. Plus, she's got some news for you! Check it out...

WHO IS IRENE PRESTON?

Irene Preston has to write romances, after all she is living one. As a starving college student, she
met her dream man who whisked her away on a romantic honeymoon across Europe. Today they live in the beautiful hill country outside of Austin, Texas where Dream Man is still working hard to make sure she never has to take off her rose-colored glasses.
THE STORY BLURB

Four years ago, Morgan Riley and Jessica Sinclair's love affair was pure Hollywood—the windswept beach, the whirlwind romance, the runaway marriage. Unfortunately, the ride into the sunset didn't survive the publication of the bride's tell-all book two months after she said, "I do." Now, for their daughter's sake, Morgan agrees to give his notorious wife another chance to be part of their family. But can a party girl be content with a quiet life in the suburbs?

As a Hollywood insider, Jessica has spent her life partying with A-list celebrities, shopping on Rodeo Drive, and living through scandal after scandal. When her estranged husband offers her a second chance at a "normal" lifestyle, she can't pass up her shot at real happiness. Soon Jessica's spending her days attending P.T.A. meetings and burning cookies, and her nights in sexy role-play, hoping Morgan will overlook her deficiencies as a homemaker. But what will Morgan do when Jessica winds up back in the tabloids—with his teenage daughter right next to her?

WANT A PEEK?

She relaxed, letting herself lean toward him over the table. She uncrossed her legs, wiggling suggestively as she repositioned herself. Sighing, she ran a calculating tongue over her lips and then caught her bottom lip between her teeth as she peered up at him though her lashes. As expected, Morgan’s eyes were riveted to her mouth.
 “Got any suggestions?” she asked.
“Jessica—” Morgan’s tone was an amused warning, but his eyes had darkened with desire.
Under the table, Jessica toed off one black pump. The pumps matched the almost-demure black dress. They were almost boring, almost conservative, the type of black peep-toe pumps any woman might keep as a staple in her closet . . . unless you counted the four-and-a-half inch stiletto heel and the trademark Louboutin red sole that turned them into something else altogether.
She eased her foot out of the designer leather and slid it along the floor until she made contact with the sole of Morgan’s sensible black oxford. Very slowly, maintaining continuous eye contact, she began sliding her foot up his calf. Morgan’s eyes widened and Jessica smiled at him as her foot continued its upward journey.
“Jessica. . . .” His voice was a low growl.
She blinked artlessly.
“Morgan?”
He opened his mouth, but just then her foot finished its climb and made its way over the edge of the chair and into his lap. There was an unmistakable bulge in his trousers. She stroked delicately.
He jumped and a hand clamped over her foot. Trapped, she wiggled her toes against him, pressing down until she felt him press back involuntarily. His mouth was a grim line, but his pupils had dilated until there was only a thin band of brown around the edges.
“Cut that out,” he said.
Jessica gave another wiggle with her toes. His hand tightened around her foot.
“Are you sure, Morgan?” she said. “I want to make sure to give good value.”
Teach him to be careful what he wished for. The tablecloth wasn’t long enough to hide what she was doing. Anyone who happened to glance this way was going to get an eyeful. She smiled. If there was one thing Jessica Sinclair was known for, it was living right down to everyone’s worst expectations.

AND NOW, LET'S TALK WITH IRENE...

ALEXA: How often to you get lost in a story?

IRENE: You think there are times I'm not lost in a story?  The drivers around me on the road would beg to differ.  If you're in the Austin area, you've been warned.

ALEXA: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?

IRENE: My husband. I watched him bring someone back to life once. True story.

ALEXA: Who's your celebrity crush and why?

IRENE: Johnny Depp.  Uh? He's Johnny Depp? He seems so intelligent and interesting. Plus, I go for the artistic types. I'll be crushed if I ever meet him and he's really boring.

ALEXA: How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?

IRENE: I love it.  The best part is they eventually tell me all their secrets.  Then I undress them.

ALEXA: Is writing or story-telling easier for you?

IRENE: Writing.  I struggle with plot and story elements sometime. Trying to translate feelings into words - that's like crack for me. I can wallow in words all day.

ALEXA: What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?

IRENE: Take a deep breath and enjoy the feeling of being totally in love with my characters and having their story work out.  That lasts about two seconds.  Then I shoot copies off to my beta readers.  I can't wait to share and I'm addicted to feedback.  The minute I hit 'send' all the self-doubt hits.  Will they like it? Nail-biting. Alcohol. I'm a mess - lol.

ALEXA: Be honest, when reading...do you put yourself in the heroine’s role?

IRENE: I totally do.  The hero's, too.  I love being in a character's head, even the villain.  The best villain are the one's you can connect with on some level.  I'm happy to play multiple roles in my fantasies!

ALEXA: Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?

IRENE: Iced tea, hot coffee.  Black and strong. It's the one place I don't dump a bunch of sugar or extra calories.

ALEXA:Okay, Irene - I think I remember we've seen this story before.  Why are you back on the promo circuit?

IRENE: Busted!  I have a really good reason though.  Infamous was originally released as an e-book in 2012.  Recently, it's been picked up for national print distribution.  Starting February 18th, you'll be able to find a paperback copy in your local Barnes and Noble and other bookstores.  I'm super excited to share Morgan and Jessica's story with this new audience.  I'm like a proud mamma. I'm running around telling everyone!

ALSO, during the month of February - the e-book version of Infamous is available on Amazon.com for only $1.99!

So, $1.99 right now on kindle, or in stores on Feburary 18th.  Send me pictures if you see Infamous on the shelves y'all - it's the one with the killer shoes on the hot pink cover!

ALEXA: GOT A QUESTION YOU’D LIKE TO ASK YOUR FANS?

IRENE: Well, since I shared that titilating little excerpt, have you ever had a PDA that got a little out of hand? Or been goaded into doing something you wouldn't normally do in public?  Don't worry -  we're all friends here. It goes no further!

Thanks for visiting us again, Irene, and Happy Print Book Birthday! Folks, check out Irene on these sites...
