THE BLURB

Spiritual forces are at work to destroy mankind…

Dr. Ellen Larson has heard myths of fallen angels, but she has no idea they exist—or that they’re after her. She has enough on her mind--her research and her own strange DNA, which she’s kept secret since she discovered a mutation in medical school that’s never been seen before.

Then the impossible happens. Two patients admitted to the University Medical Center—Rafe Zacharias and Homer Wilton--have the same genetic mutation! Without transfusions, the men will die. Ellen can’t withhold what may be their only hope: her blood. She has no choice…

Her secret must come out.
Unseen, a battle rages around them. A battle to bring an ancient curse to life. Ellen, Rafe and Homer are pawns in a war mankind can't afford to lose...

Alexa: Thanks for joining us, Sunni. How often to you get lost in a story?
Sunni: Almost every time I read a book or story or a research site. I become oblivious to anything around me.

Alexa: What’s the first book you remember reading?
Sunni: I’m sure there were many children’s books, but I remember The Secret Garden and all of the OZ books.

Alexa: What’s your favorite “love” word?
Sunni: Cherish. It wraps so many emotions and meanings into one word. It’s a commitment to love and protect. Precious is a close second. It goes far beyond physical attraction or the heart-throbbing early love to a deep love that sees inestimable value in the loved one.

Alexa: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
Sunni: Oh my, I love fairy tales. Pick one? Impossible.

Alexa: What turns you off like nothing else?
Sunni: When someone who uses “I” or “my” in everything they say.

Alexa: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
Sunni: My husband would be at the top of the list. He is smart, loyal, cute, a natural leader, he cares about others and always wants to help. He isn’t afraid of confrontation. He is protective, and yet has always encouraged me to reach higher. Outside of my husband, I once met a man named Ernesto Contreras, a Mexican bio-chemist and doctor. He gave up a lucrative position in a large hospital in Mexico City to open a clinic in Tia Juana to help cancer patients. But he was one of the humblest people I’ve ever met, and truly cared about each patient and family member who came to his clinic.
Alexa: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
Sunni: Fairy tale.

Alexa: Where do you read and how often?
Sunni: I have a favorite recliner at home, or I read in bed at night. I’m always reading something.

Alexa: What sound or noise do you love?
Sunni: The ocean, or a babbling brook. The sounds of birds. The coffee pot dripping, and the smell that goes with it. Fresh cut grass or hay fields. Evergreen forests. Fresh herbs. The silence when it snows.

Alexa: What was the first story you remember writing?
Sunni: I wrote a poem about my little sister, who died of leukemia when I was 9. Also, I turned in a story about God’s love in English when I was in 1oth grade.

Alexa: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
Sunni: A Knight’s Tale.

Alexa: What is your biggest vice?
Sunni: I’m a foodie. I love to eat just about anything. Sweet, savory, tart, sour, rich.

Alexa: Got a question you’d like to ask your fans?
Sunni: Do you have a favorite genre, even within romance? Or do you read lots of genres. What is your favorite romance that you’ve ever read? What is your all-time favorite book that wasn’t a romance?

Thanks so much, Sunni! Folks, our guest today will be giving away 1 print copy of Heaven’s Strain to one commenter!
