THE COMPASS
by debut author
CINDY CHARITY
Darkness is coming.....in truth, it's already here. The only thing that can defeat it is the Compass. Only problem is.....she doesn't know.
Feisty and defiant Ali Hayes, is determined to break free from her controlling parents. New York is the perfect place to assert her independence and prove once and for all, that she wasn't crazy. However, strange events begin to happen, threatening to open the door to the past that she swore she had nailed shut. And when a sexy, immortal warrior, claiming that she was needed to save the world, tries to abduct her off the street, Ali has to rethink the whole sanity thing.
As a warrior of Agrona, Finn O'Shea was tall and imposing, in battle, he knew no equal. He had come to Earth's realm in search of the one destined to save his world. When he finds her, he soon learns that he would need more than just his sword.....he needed magick. The very thing he had turned his back on.
CINDY CHARITY is the mother of three amazing kids, living on the shores of Lake Huron. When she's not writing, she and her husband might sneak off to do a bit of fishing or discover a new fry truck. To combat the dreaded writer's block, she takes to the trails with her crack team of hikers: a Wolfhound named Fawn and a Great Dane named Murphy. A lifelong storyteller, her mother kept all of her stories--right back to the one about the snake who dreamed of having feet. Creating stories that entertain, provoke thought, or simply invite one to dream up their own stories gives her much joy.
THE Q&A DIRECTION
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
CINDY: Ha! If you ask my family: all the time! When they see me with a book, they say their goodbyes.
ANGI: Benedict Cumberbatch or Chris Pine?
CINDY: Cumberbatch wins this round.
ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
CINDY: My sister. She bravely fought cancer for two years before losing the battle.
ANGI: What’s your favorite meal?
CINDY: I love breakfast. When I go a restaurant and see that they offer an all day breakfast, I’m a happy girl!
ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
CINDY: Tinker Bell.
ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
CINDY: I love that he’s able to grow—to admit that he was wrong and then goes about fixing it.
ANGI: Is there a playlist you’d recommend for reading your latest release?
CINDY: Playlist?!?! Try playlists! For this book there was quite a mixture. One Direction, all the way to Def Leopard…Hmmmm…maybe I should post them somewhere.
ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
CINDY: I read everywhere, and all the time. But if I were to pick one certain place, it would have to be curled up in the corner of my sofa.
ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
CINDY: I live by the water, so I love hearing the waves crash onto the shore.
ANGI: Would you rather be in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
CINDY: Fairy Tale that’s packed full of action.
ANGI: What’s your favorite rerun on television?
CINDY: Another hard pick….I’d have to go with The Big Bang Theory.
ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
CINDY: Gone with the Wind.
ANGI: What's your most favorite thing to do in your state?
CINDY: I’m a beach girl…summer time here in Kincardine, Ontario, is all about the beach.
ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
CINDY: Maleficent.
ANGI: Hiking Boots or Dancing Heels?
CINDY: Depends on my mood….but I own more heels than flats.
ANGI: How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?
CINDY: I’ll let you know when I get to that point!
ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: What was the very best thing about your visit to New York this summer?
CINDY’s GOTTA ANSWER: I LOVE New York! Have since I was a kid. But this year’s conference went beyond anything I could have dreamed. This year, I overcame my nerves and spoke to Nora Roberts after the award ceremony. The woman is amazing!
