Get Lost With Alanna Lucas

Folks, please help me welcome Alanna Lucas!
WHO IS ALANNA?
Alanna Lucas grew up in Southern California, but always dreamed of distant lands and bygone eras. From an early age she took interest in art, history, and travel, and enjoys incorporating those diversions into her writing. However, she believes that true love is the greatest source of inspiration and is always an adventure.

Alanna makes her home in California where she spends her time writing historical romances, dreaming of her next travel destination, spending time with family, and staying up too late indulging in her favorite past time, reading.

ONE NIGHT, ONE DANCE, ONE CHANCE
At twenty-five, Anastasia Quintin has resigned herself to live in quiet seclusion as companion to Miss Albryght, but one lost wager by her headstrong bookworm of a mistress soon requires Anastasia’s return to the society from which she hides. Her first event in eight years is to be a house party in honor of the recently entitled Earl of Huntingdon, hosted by his haughty old grandmother.

Having come to his title by tragedy, the handsome Huntingdon is new to the ton, but he is not new to Anastasia. Dante St. Clair is the very man who long ago stole her heart and thereafter dashed all her hopes and dreams. He is the man she must never let discover her identity, but whom she can no more avoid than a moth can a flame. One waltz will destroy her, and for it, Anastasia will risk everything...and win.

AND NOW…

ALEXA: How often to you get lost in a story?
ALANNA: All the time! Getting lost in a story is a great way to relax.

ALEXA: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
ALANNA:  From Disney- Cinderella for her dress, and Beauty and the Beast for the library

ALEXA: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
ALANNA: I like adventure in my fairy tale, and a little fairy tale in my action adventure ;-)

ALEXA: What color would you make the sky if it wasn’t going to be blue anymore and why?
ALANNA: Why would I change it, my favorite color is blue!

ALEXA: What will always make you smile, even on a bad day?
ALANNA: My children :-)

ALEXA: Complete this sentence. When I want to relax, I. . .
ALANNA: Read

ALEXA: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
ALANNA: I love Star Wars and The Great Race!

ALEXA: Who’s your favorite villain?
ALANNA: Sticking with the Star Wars theme- Darth Vader

ALEXA: Do you write while listening to music? If so what kind?
ALANNA: Music is such a source of inspiration for me. When I am getting to know my characters, I listen to all styles of music (my current favorite is Fall Out Boy), but when I write I listen to classical- mostly Beethoven.

ALEXA: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
ALANNA: Snoopy and Wall-E (Can’t forget Wall-E! The little Lego figure my son made for me is staring at me while I type this).

ALEXA: What’s your favorite kid joke?
ALANNA: My son just told me this one today: Why did the angry Jedi cross the road? To get to the dark side ;-)

ALEXA’S GOTTA ASK, ALANNA’S GOTTA ANSWER:
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ACTOR/ACTRESS & WHY?
I don’t have just one, but I would have to say…Harrison Ford (gotta love Han Solo)

  1. Wow Alanna - We have some things in common. I am from So Cal - Santa Barbara, Love Snoopy and Star Wars and Harrison Ford as Han Solo is always my top pick. Empire Strikes Back is still my favorite movie. I also like Witness another Harrison Ford movie.

  4. Enjoyed your 'kid' joke, Alanna. And oh, yes, Han Solo was the best! I don't have a particular favorite one either, although there are one or two whose movies I'll always go to even if the movies aren't always 'award-worthy' :) One of those is Richard Armitage (big surprise!). And recently, I've enjoyed Jeremy Renner. Good luck with your book.

  5. What a fun interview! What interesting questions- I especially like the one about the color of the sky. Hard to imagine it anything else and I do love blue! Even so, it'd be fun to think about a pale violet sky in a parallel universe!
    Hmmmm favorite movie.....no can do....just like I can't pick a favorite book!

  9. Hi, Alanna. The book sounds wonderful--just bought it! As for my favorite movie, hmm. I love the latest Bourne movie with Jeremy Renner, my favorite scene being when the rocket whooshes in and blows up the cabin in Alaska, and his subsequent battle with the drone. Yep, I'm that kind of girl, LOL! But I also love The Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe. That was a smouldering love story with lots of action and adventure.

  11. Love the interview! Actually, my favorite movie is not a romance-it's 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'. I guess that's the science nerd in me coming out!

  14. Hello Alanna.

Nice interview!! Looking forward to another book from you. :)

My favourite movie is "Love, actually." It makes me laugh (that dance scene with Hugh Grant is something else...) just as much as it makes me cry (Emma Thompson quietly heart broken by the gift she expected but did NOT receive). Lives criss-crossing, some stories ending so well and others, not so much, some not ending at all, etc; I just think it's sooooo well written!

    Keep the books coming !

  15. Wonderful interview, Alanna! And your son's joke made me chuckle. Favorite movie - can't choose between An Affair to Remember, Love Actually and Sweet Home Alabama.

Your book sounds so intriguing - can't wait to read it!
