Have you found Virginia Vaughn?

One of the nicest things about hosting a blog like Get Lost in a Story is discovering new authors...not just because of their writing, but because their answers let you know that you'd be besties. It's very nice to "meet" Virginia Vaughn. I can't wait to meet her in person.

REUNION MISSION
Rangers Under Fire & book #2

FRAMED

Lured into a dark classroom, high school teacher Claire Kendall stumbles over the body of a dead student—and into the clutches of the killer. Certain she's about to die, Claire is shocked when DEA agent Matt Ross bursts in and rescues her. The former army ranger who broke her heart ten years ago is back in town to bust a drug trafficking ring operating at the school. With Claire being framed for the young informant's murder, she has to put aside their past and trust her handsome ex to keep her safe. But someone is dead set on bringing their hometown reunion to a permanent end.

VIRGINIA VAUGHAN was born and raised in Mississippi and has never strayed far beyond those borders. She is a former investigator for the State of Mississippi who left a promising career to pursue her dream of being a writer. Blessed to come from a large Southern family, her fondest memories include listening to stories recounted by family and friends around the large dinner table. She was a lover of books even from a young age, devouring stories of romance, danger, and love. She soon started writing them herself. After marriage, two kids, and a divorce, Virginia realized her characters needed the same thing she needed—the healing grace and restoration power of Jesus Christ. She devoted her life and her writing to His glory and has watched God swing doors open for her to walk through.

My idea of what my hero
 Matt Ross looks like.
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
VIRGINIA: As often as I can! There is nothing more enjoyable than losing myself in a good story. I love the adventure of stepping into someone else’s life and forgetting my own worries for a time.

ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
VIRGINIA: My hero, Matt Ross, is a wounded soul. He did something terrible in his past that hurt the woman he loves and he believes he can never be forgiven for it. I loved going through the journey of redemption with him and having him discover that second chances are possible with God.

ANGI: Are you a Star Wars fan? Favorite thing about the reboot?
VIRGINIA: I love all things Star Wars! I found the reboot very satisfying. For me, it had just the right amount of nostalgia but also opened up an exciting new storyline. I’m already looking forward to the next movie.
 the beach at Gulf Shores

ANGI: Sand or Snow?
VIRGINIA: Sand, definitely. The beach is where I want to be. I can’t think of anything better than sitting and listening to roar of the waves.
Henry Cavill as Superman

ANGI: Superman or Batman?
VIRGINIA: Oh, that’s a tough one, but I would have to go with the man of steel. His clean-cut, justice seeking ways are definitely more my style than Batman’s dark vengeance.

ANGI: What drinks or snacks are always on your desk when you’re writing?
VIRGINIA: I am addicted to Diet Coke. It is my caffeine of choice and it is always on my desk when I’m writing.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs
of NCIS

ANGI: What’s your favorite rerun on television?
VIRGINIA: I can sit and watch NCIS over and over when they marathon play it. One name—Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham

ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
VIRGINIA: Maybe it’s because he recently died that I’m reminded of him, but Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in The Prince of Thieves was a great villain. He really stole that movie.

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: What’s one thing from your bucket list?
VIRGINIA’s GOTTA ANSWER:  One of the things I have always wanted to do but have never done much is traveling. I’ve always stuck close to home. I would love to travel around the US and do all the touristy stuff people do.

YULETIDE ABDUCTION
Rangers Under Fire & book #1

KIDNAPPED AT CHRISTMAS
FBI agent Elise Richardson fears the worst when a Mississippi teen is abducted days before Christmas. But she won’t give up, especially when she learns she owes her life to the missing girl’s father. Years ago, former army ranger Josh Adams lost his brother when he died saving Elise. Though Josh resents her for the loss, she’s now his niece’s only hope. Working with the ex-soldier proves dangerous to Elise’s heart…and to her life when she closes in on what she fears is a human trafficking ring. If she’s right, Elise has only days to rescue Josh’s niece for a holiday homecoming—and to prove herself worthy of his love.

NO SAFE HAVEN

While helping a victim of domestic violence, advocate Jessica Taylor finds herself a target once more. But those memories of the past can’t stop her from safeguarding the women in her care. Not even when the victim’s brother, Andrew Jennings, appoints himself Jessica’s protector. She won’t let another man endanger himself for her sake, but gutsy determination turns to fear when the stalker steps out of the shadows and into her home. No place is safe, not even in Andrew’s arms. Because Jessica knows a showdown is coming and Andrew will risk everything—even his life—for the woman he loves.

CHRISTMAS IN BETHLEHEM MAINE

This year, spend Christmas in Bethlehem, Maine, as the town prepares for annual living nativities. Will stepping into the roles of Mary and Joseph help empty nesters David and Kate Walters discover the joy of becoming parents again unexpectedly? Can a young pastor and a pretty choir member convince the town to be like three wise men of long ago when a devastating hurricane threatens tradition? Can veterinarian Leesa McElroy survive working alongside a man more at home with camels than Christians? Will the truth about singer Angeline Monroe’s abandoned career come to light at Christmas?
