Lady Sinners Series, #1
As captain of the dance team for the NHL's Las Vegas Sinners, it's Miranda Evans' job to make sure a quality product goes on the ice between periods whether it's choreographed numbers or short scrimmages, but she's not blind. Her squad gets eye rolls and applause in equal measure. The chance to start a community intramural hockey league is her shot at legitimizing the Lady Sinners, but there's a catch. To maximize good press, Miranda has to work with a retired Sinner who's shut himself off from everyone in the organization. He's stubborn, broken, and unwilling to say the least, but in unguarded moments she can see the man underneath, and he might just be worth fighting for.
Ben Collier's NHL career came to a crashing halt a little over a year ago when a monster hit paralyzed him from the waist down. Feeling is coming back at a mind-numbingly slow pace. He's attacking rehab to the point of obsession. All he wants is to be left alone to focus on his three goals: walk, skate, play hockey. He absolutely doesn't need the distraction of the beautiful cheerleader who won't give him a moment's peace, but her optimism rubs off when he's not looking. Despite himself, the glass is starting to look half full for the first time since his injury. And that's terrifying. To love something means to accept the risk of losing it, and he's not sure he can do that again.

READ A LITTLE, BUY THE BOOK
I live in Ohio with my Air Force hubby, and I write hockey romance. I played one season of roller hockey when I was fifteen--it hurt enough that I decided I liked it better as a spectator--and it's been true love ever since! My fictional team is the Las Vegas Sinners, and my real-world team is the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I like strong, capable heroines who bring out the vulnerability in their tough guys.

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
KATIE: Every
day! Whether it’s a book I’m reading, a book I’m writing, a TV show or a movie,
I love getting lost with intriguing characters.
ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
KATIE: Home!
Hubby and I are introverts who cherish our little bubble. We’ll order pizza,
pick up ice cream, and curl up to watch something funny.
ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
KATIE: Fairy
tale! I’m a hopeful romantic who can’t resist an HEA.
ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
KATIE: This
is tough because I am SUCH a kid. Any of the 90s Nickelodeon Nick Toons but if
I had to pick one, Doug Funnie from Doug. It was refreshing to see an
earnest, honest, vulnerable boy in love.
ANGI: Daffy Duck or Donald Duck?
KATIE: Donald
Duck.
ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
KATIE: Normally
we see heroines who don’t believe in themselves enough, but it’s switched in Vegas
Baby. Ben is very self-conscious, and his esteem has taken a huge hit after
a hockey injury paralyzed him below the waist. He’s shut the world out as he’s
been rehabbing and slowly regaining feeling, but when he meets my bubbly, sweet
heroine Miranda, he finds the courage to open up and let her in—eventually!
ANGI: High Heels or Hiking Boots?
KATIE: Depends
on the occasion! I love to go for nature walks, but I also love dressing up and
feeling pretty and sexy in heels.
ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
KATIE: I
have too many! Home Alone, You’ve Got Mail, Apollo 13, Twister, Father of
the Bride, Planes Trains and Automobiles, and Groundhog Day to name
a few. I can never pass those up when they’re on TV.
KATIE: Vegas Baby’s official song is “Anthem” by Superchick. It’s a kickass girl power song, and I love it
KATIE: Salad
ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
KATIE: Diet
Coke in an IV, please.
ANGI: What’s your perfect day?
KATIE: ANGI: Geek or Jock?
KATIE: Nerd
girl with her nose in a book.
ANGI: Favorite inspiration
KATIE: In life? Dana
Scully from the X-Files. In writing? Rachel Caine J
ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
KATIE: I
recently leapt into self-publishing. It is a LOT of work, but the ultimate
control over my work and the freedom has been so worth it.
ANGI’s GOTTA ASK: What’s your favorite pair of shoes & why?
KATIE’S GOTTA ANSWER: My wedding
shoes! They are purple perfection and so, so pretty.

KATIE WANTS TO KNOW: What traits do you LOVE in a hero and heroine?
First i want to say that I filled out the rafflecopter and shouldn;t of as it is a digital and that i can;t do my mistake . I like the hero to be tough but nice on the edges and also nice to the woman protective in every way and the herione i like her to be tough with a little sweet not to sweet for her though but enough that she can run a tractor and get her hands dirty along with treating her man for the bill sometimes! Anotherwards we don't want the woman to be a whiner ! peggy clayton
