Have you met Laura Hawks

EGYPTIAN DESTINY:

THE WEIGHT OF HER FEATHER

Archaeologist Lyra Mayet's life's work has been to prove that Pharaoh Horemheb had offspring. She is thrilled when she finally succeeds by locating the tomb of Namire, the Pharaoh's daughter. However, Namire's tomb contains more than just secrets; it holds the key of balance between good and evil. Recently stolen from the Goddess Ma'at, Lyra's discovery allows worshipers of chaos the ability to attain the sacred feather and bring about a world of hellish anarchy.

Anubis's second in command, Asim has been given the duty by the Egyptian Gods to retrieve the Feather of Justice before it's corrupted and destroyed, thereby bringing about a new world order with chaos at its head. Following the trail of the feather to the United States, Asim realizes he's running out of time. What he doesn't expect is Lyra, who reminds him of a love lost long ago. Even though his distraction delays his retrieval of the feather and puts the world at risk, he isn't sure he can let her go.

Teaming up, the two race to reacquire the feather from the followers of chaos before it's too late. They have less than two weeks to complete their mission. Will they succeed or will the world succumb to the evil waiting to arise?

 THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
LAURA: Every time. It’s easy for me to get lost in another world.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
LAURA: They are strong but also sensitive to my heroine. They’re respectful, loving and standing by her side no matter what is happening. What’s important to me the most is that my hero makes the heroine feel desired and loved.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
LAURA:  Right now, Hidden Figures is at the top of my list. I’m very impressed with the movie and the subjects it covers. I was never aware of this historical aspect and I love to learn surprising things like this.

ANGI: What’s your perfect day?
LAURA: 70s and partly cloudy. I love to sit outside in this kind of weather.

ANGI: Salad or soup?
LAURA:  Salad especially with my family’s homemade dressing which is similar to Italian, but yet different with a lemon and mint twist.

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
LAURA: Action Adventure. I have always been one to try new things.

ANGI: Favorite TV rerun you watch every time you channel surf?
LAURA:  Gilmore Girls. Many have said my relationship with my mom was like the Gilmore Girls. We were extremely close. Watching this show reminds me a lot of her and our relationship. She passed a couple of years ago and I miss her terrible.

ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
LAURA: Both. I love to get all dolled up and taken out on the town, but I also like just curling up in front of the tv with a bowl of popcorn.

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
LAURA: Both. Champagne for those special occasions and soda all the other times.

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
LAURA: For me… I like both… I’m a geek. 100%. If the guy is tender, I don’t care if he’s either one.

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
LAURA: Swam with the Great White Sharks (I was in a cage) and Nurse Sharks, swimming freely among them.. What a rush! Ready to do it again!!

LAURA’S GOTTA ANSWER:  The Kitchen... it's close to my beverages, I have room and the chair is comfortable. I also have a picture of my mom watching me as I work, and she gives me inspiration to continue to make her proud, so it encourages me when her presence no longer can. Besides, my desk in my office is too cluttered to write.

LAURA WANTS TO KNOW:  What's the most daring thing you've ever done?

3 comments:

  1. The most daring thing that i have done is starting hiking towards a city with my foster mother and other foster siblings and got 3/4 of the way there then she asked for a ride for all of us. We had no idea what we would find we just started hiking from our foster home. I guess my foster mom wanted to walk that day as not many years later she died of lou gherigs disease so sad she was wonderful. I do not want to be entered into the contest for this as this is not a genre I read although it does sounds interesting and a fun read.
