Meet Traci Douglass

ONE NIGHT WITH AN ARMY DOC
Is one night enough…

To convince her to stay?

Traveling to Alaska to film the latest episode of her TV show is just what brilliant diagnostician Dr. Molly Flynn needs. It’s the perfect escape from her family’s expectations. Until she clashes with privacy-loving former army doc Jacob Ryder over her patient’s care! Only, as friction turns into flirtation, can Molly trust that Jake sees the real her and loves her—just the way she is?

USA Today Bestselling Author Traci Douglass writes fiction bursting with romance and action, usually mixed with a healthy portion of fantasy, urban edge and/or snark. Her stories feature sizzling heroes with quick wits and dark pasts and smart, independent heroines who always give as good as they get.

She's an active member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), Indiana Romance Writers of America (IRWA), and the International Thriller Writers (ITW), and holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University.

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
TRACI:  Less often than I’d like now that I’m a published author. That’s weird to say, but since this is what I do for a living, a story really has to be top-notch to shut off my editor brain and make me forget everything else except what’s happening to these characters on the page. When reading for pleasure, I’ve got my go-to authors now that are auto-buys for me, for this reason. Kristan Higgins, Sarah MacLean, KJ Charles, Cat Sebastian, Josh Lanyon, Gena Showalter, Amy Ruttan, to name a few.

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
TRACI: I think what I love most about my hero, Dr. Jake Ryder, is his huge heart. And his loyalty. He’s not afraid to stand up for those he loves and for what he believes is right.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
TRACI:  Oh, good question. Just one? Hmmm. Well, one I think I’ve watched so many times I think I could act in it is Practical Magic. Also, The Way We Were. Hubble Gardner… sigh.

ANGI: Salad or soup?
TRACI: Tough one. Can’t I get the You Pick Two at Panera and have the best of both worlds? (half Caesar salad and broccoli cheddar soup)

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
TRACI: A bit of both, actually. I like my heroines feisty and able to take care of themselves (and sometimes the hero too… LOL). Maybe like a modern Disney fairy tale like Tangled? Yeah. That’s my style.

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
TRACI: Champagne. Never been much of a soda drinker.

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
TRACI: Definitely geek.

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
TRACI: I used to be a professional ballroom dancer and competed with my partners in front of packed crowds of people in fancy dance costumes. Does that count? LOL.

ANGI’s GOTTA ASK:  Where is your favorite writing place & why?
TRACI’S GOTTA ANSWER:  I love my current writing spot at the dining room table. There’s lots of light, I have a great view out my patio doors to the lovely scenery outside, and my trusty coffee mug and earbuds at the ready. (Excuse the mess of papers in the photo. LOL. Didn’t someone once say that a messy desk is a sign of a creative mind at work? If not, they should have.)

UP NEXT for TRACI: Lots of different flavors popping up soon. Stay tuned on my website or with my newsletter for details.

My favorite movie of all time depends on my mood. But my go-to movie to cheer me up is UNDERCOVER BLUES with Kathleen Turner & Dennis Quaid. Ever See It?

  5. I'm not sure I have an all time favourite movie. I love historicals, so maybe SENSE AND SENSIBILITY with Alan Rickman.
