Harlequin Superromance
ISBN: 0373717911
Work undercover, catch the bad guy, become a full-time
Project Justice investigator. Simple enough plan, until Jillian Baxter
recognizes the man she's investigating. Her new "boss" is none other
than Conner Blake—her childhood crush. Luckily, he has no idea who she is,
since Jillian is no longer Jillybean, the short, overweight teenager he
publicly humiliated.
Despite their past, Jillian knows Conner isn't a murderer.
Nor is he that same cruel boy. In fact, there's much to admire about the man he
is. Still, this is an ongoing case and whatever is happening between them will
have to wait. As she gets closer to finding the killer, she must decide if she
can trust Conner with the truth. And that could be her toughest decision yet.

HIDDEN ANSWERS
TO FUN FUN QUESTIONS
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
KARA: Not as often as I used to! Writing makes you a
more critical reader, which makes it hard to forget you're reading a book. That
said, certain authors are easy to get lost with. Usually in a non-romance
genre, like Jasper Forde's fantasies or anything by T. Jefferson Parker.ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
KARA: Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat.
ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve
met?
KARA: Does Chuck Norris count? He was really very
nice.
ANGI: What's your favorite fairy tale?

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
KARA: Foghorn Leghorn. No matter how many times I see
those cartoons they make me laugh.
ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
KARA: I always have at least three books going
simultaneously. My Kindle is in the kitchen; I read during breakfast. I have
another book on my nightstand, so I read before bed. And I always have a book
in my purse, to read if I get stuck waiting somewhere.
ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
KARA: Water—running water, rain, ocean waves, babbling
brook, whatever.
ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
KARA: When I was in first grade I started a book. It
was about a little girl who lived in Rome with her father; her mother had died.
She was really lonely. That's all I remember about it. Pretty sure I didn't
finish it.
ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
KARA: What's Up, Doc? Or The African Queen.KARA:: Boris Badenov
ANGI: What is your biggest vice?
KARA: Popcorn. Or Spider Solitaire.ANGI: Oh, please don’t tell me Spider Solitaire’s a vice. Then I have to add another one to my list!
ANGI: Is there a “Blooper” in your story (it may have been changed before printing)?
KARA: Not that I recall! There are always embarrassing typos that my editor catches.
ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Hey
Kara, if you share this story on-line, I’d love readers to hear about how you
and Rob met, etc. If not, maybe
something about fixing up the house in CA?
KARA’S GOTTA ANSWER: Rob and I met at a romance writers meeting. The
funny thing is, neither of us remembers exactly when or where. We were both
members of the North Texas RWA chapter, but we didn't get to know each other
until Dallas Area Romance Authors (early 1990s). We used to sit in the back of
the meeting room and cause trouble. We were friends for at least a year before
we ever started dating.
