Celebrating Romantic Suspense

The Get Lost in a Story crew sends our CONGRATULATIONS to the

CELEBRITY IN DEATH
J.D. Robb
Penguin Group USA, Putnam
Leslie Gelbman editor
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is no party girl, but she's managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating The Icove Agenda, a film based on one of her famous cases. It's a little spooky seeing the actress playing her, who looks almost like her long-lost twin.

Not as unsettling, though, as seeing the actress who plays Peabody drowned in the lap pool on the roof of the director's luxury building. Now she's at the center of a crime scene-and Eve is more than ready to get out of her high heels and strap on her holster and step into the role she was born to play: cop.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SUSPENSE MOVIE?

15 comments:

  1. Congratulations to all the finalists. WOO HOO !!

My favorite suspense movie? There are too many to name. A classic that pops into my mind is Rear Window. I just watched Anthony Hopkins in Hitchcock and the past season there was the Castle episode that featured the story line. Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly were just...regal.

  5. Hey Angi,

Thanks for featuring the RITA finalists in the romantic suspense category today. :) It's so exciting to see my book and name up there among so many of the authors I've been enjoying for years!

Most of the movies I loved that had lots of suspense, never had quite as much romantic development. Like The Mothman Prophecies, which creeped the hell out of me, or Reign of Fire--which I loved for it's emotional intensity. I think my television favorites do a better job of mixing the romance with the suspense--like X-Files, and Fringe.

  8. Congrats to all...
.I've read Scorched and it was a real page turner. Loved it! But have not read Twisted by Laura Griffin (It;s on my list.) For a suspense movie, I really liked "Eraser" and "True Lies" with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  9. I guess my favorite would be the Panic Room. But I love the old ones too..Hitchcock or Jimmy Stewart... :)

  10. That is a tough question since I enjoy reading suspense stories so much more than watching movies. I would pick Silence of the Lambs as my favorite.

  11. Congrats to all of the nominees. This is one of my favourite book categories and I love suspense movies, so asking me to choose a favourite suspense movie is like asking me to choose a favourite romantic suspense author, it just can not be done. :-)

  14. Ah ha, One of my favorite genre: Romantic Suspense. Congrats to all the nominees. I'd sure hate to have to pick the winner.

My favorite suspense movie? Don't know that I have a fav. Taken with Liam Neeson is one movie I enjoyed. No romance there but certainly suspensful. The Bourne movies with Matt Damon would be some more.
