And Now a Word From Your Sponsor

Hi GLIAS fans!
This is Liz coming at you today, and the crew and I want to take a time out from presenting you with fabulous guests and give you a little sneak peek of some things to come in the next few weeks. Plus, I want to give you a personal preview of what’s coming from my personal writing cave (aka the Mole Hole, aka The Messy Office, aka the I-can’t-concentrate-there’s-too-much-Internet-Here Room).

We are just over six weeks away from the Romance Writers of America annual meeting and conference.

This means that your favorite writers (and mine) will be converging—this year on San Antonio, TX—to network, learn, schmooze, write, and celebrate everything romance. The biggest event of the conference week is the annual Golden Heart® and RITA® Awards Ceremony. And every year at GLIAS we try to do something to celebrate the RITA® finalists before the big winners are announced.

This year is no exception. And it’s an extra special year for me because I’m honored to be among those finalists with my second novel “Rescued by a Stranger.” (Yay! Cue the disbelief.)

  • Because of this, my GLIAS sisters are sending me on a mission. All during RWA week I’ll be sleuth-reporting on the finalists as they party at the conference (can you say trench coat and dark glasses?). Watch for my on-the-spot reports.
  • The week before RWA, you’ll find some fun info and a few pre-San Antonio interviews with more of the nominees. Mark July 15-27 on your calendars and join us here for RITA® weeks!
  • Keep your eyes peeled, too, for our special once-a-month First Friday with the GLIAS Crew posts. There is always a special question and lots of great insight, excerpts, news, and inside scoop on the ladies of Get Lost in a Story.
  • With ten really fun and talented authors behind the scenes of the blog, you can also bet there are always new releases and party giveaways here on the blog. We hope you’ll check back regularly for these extra-special posts.

And, finally, as I said, I have some fun news of my own. My third and fourth books—the next two in my small town Kennison Falls, MN series—are coming out this year.  The first of these is titled “Beauty and the Brit.”  It’s the story of tough and self-reliant Rio Montoya, a woman who’s grown up in the inner city but dreams of cowboys and open spaces and owning her own piece of heaven with space for horses and safety.  Her dreams are shattered in one dangerous incident of gang retribution and she has to find safe haven for herself and her teenaged sister at David Pitts-Matherson’s horse-stable in quiet southern Minnesota. David is a British ex-pat and he is sexy, gorgeous and nice. But he’s the opposite of a cowboy and as far from Rio’s type as it’s possible to be. She’s not so sure she’s safe after all.

“Beauty and the Brit” will be here in September! And even cooler—the pre-order goes live on my birthday, August 13th.  How cool is that??

Keep an eye out for that and for a cover reveal coming soon! And stay tuned for more on Book #4—Dewey’s story. If you read the first three books—you’ll meet the handiest, most helpful man in Kennison Falls—Dewey Mitchell. He’ll get a love of his own—if he can let go of his past!!

So here’s my question for today:  Dewey’s story is still untitled. I’m coming up with ideas but I’m horrible at titling anything. Knowing that  my hero is the town fix-it man (he can fix ANYTHING) and his heroine is the new town librarian who has a ten-year-old son with Asperger’s Syndrome—what would YOU title my newest book? Funny or serious—lay your ideas on me.

I’ll give away an e-copy of my RITA nominated book along with a first chapter sneak peek of “Beauty and the Brit.”

Meanwhile, keep your eyes glued right here on the GLIAS channel!!
