Give a big welcome to historical romance author Danica Favorite!
A MOTHER FOR CHRISTMAS
Widower Luke Jeffries needs a mother for his three young children, whether or not they agree. When he meets Nellie McClain at the mail-order-bride agency, Luke thinks his problems are solved, but they’ve only just begun. Though the beautiful widow awakens his grieving heart, Luke won’t betray his cherished wife’s memory.
A marriage of convenience is exactly what Nellie wants, since she’s been wounded by love before and doesn’t plan to risk her heart again. But despite her chilly reception at Luke’s family’s simple Colorado cabin, her feelings for Luke and the children grow deeper every day. Can Nellie and Luke heal the pain in each other and finally make their family whole again?

Meet Danica
A
self-professed crazy chicken lady, Danica Favorite loves the adventure of
living a creative life. She and her family recently moved in to their
dream home in the mountains above Denver, Colorado. Danica loves to explore the depths of
human nature and follow people on the journey to happily ever after. Though the
journey is often bumpy, those bumps are what refine imperfect characters as
they live the life God created them for. Oops, that just spoiled the ending of
all of Danica’s stories. Then again, getting there is all the fun.

E.E.: What’s the first book you remember reading?
Danica: The Secret
of the Old Clock. I was in kindergarten, and fell in love with Nancy Drew. The
librarian didn’t believe I could read it, so I had to prove to her that I could
read well enough before she’d let me get any others. I then read every Nancy
Drew book they had!
E.E.: What turns you off like nothing else?
Unkindness. I’ll be honest. I find the current political
situation really upsetting right now, because people on both sides are being
mean to each other and eating each other alive rather than trying to figure out
ways we can work together to make the world a better place for everyone. I know
that requires elected officials to do the same, but maybe we should be the ones
to lead with love and kindness. Even outside politics, it makes me really sad
to see all the mean comments people have about one another and how we don’t
seem to care about our fellow human beings. I really appreciate it when I see
others being kind to one another.
E.E.: What was the first story you remember writing?
Danica: I wrote a story about a merman named Allaric. I remember nothing other than those details, but I’m certain it was the most awesome story ever. As they are when you’re eight or so years old.

E.E.: What is something that not a lot of people know about you
but you WISH more people COULD know?
Danica: I wish people could know how much of an introvert I really
am. I come off as very friendly most of the time (and when I seem unfriendly,
it’s because I’m depleted), so a lot of people don’t believe I’m an introvert.
But I am! And I need a lot of alone time to be able to do what I’ve got to do!
E.E.: What dreams have been realized as a result of your writing?
Danica: Being an author always was the dream! I’ve wanted to be one
since I was little, but I never figured I could until I was retired. So glad I
was wrong!
E.E.: Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?
Danica: Tea… I like it plain, but I like a lot of varieties, so it’s
not really plain. No cream, no sugar. The same with coffee, when I have it.
