Stephany and I have been friends on Facebook for a few years. Since that first contact through today, we've collaborated on many ventures, from Facebook groups to author collaborations, our newest being Chandler County.
As November nears, the bulk of our Chandler County releases will be published and Stephany's book, Missing Home, is one of them. But, before we chat about that, I had to put Stephany through a list of questions.
First, have you been on the blog before?
Nope, this is my first time.
How often do you get lost in a story?
Unfortunately, not often these days because my writing tends to limit the time I have to read. I read a really great book this summer by Nora Roberts...I couldn't put it down.
What's your favorite thing about your current hero?
My favorite thing about my current book hero (Dr. Jared Johnson) is the fact that he is totally clueless despite his PhD and advanced education. He skips town when his request for federal funding is denied and ditches his bride to be three weeks before the wedding. With a background in psychological profiling, one would think he would have a better handle on 'life' and what is driving his actions. Better yet, how to 'control' his actions!
Do you have a favorite movie of all time?
Not a real movie buff...
What's your perfect day like?
My perfect day has to be sunny and bright! I am so greatly influenced by the weather...sun is a must. Ideally, a nice beach is somewhere within walking distance--as in, a walk from my hotel room or resort. Reading, relaxation along with good music and conversation.
Let's do some rapid fire questions!
Fire away!
Favorite color?
Blue
Favorite meal?
Nice seafood platter....with a mixed green salad.
Name something on your bucket list.
Cross country road trip.
Dream Vacation?
Used to be Virgin Islands.
Favorite book boyfriend?
Duhhhhhh.
Favorite Memory?
A Thanksgiving family dinner where we all danced throughout my house in a Conga line--one of the last dinners with my mother.
Geek or Jock?
Neither
Most daring thing you've ever done? Care to share?
Oooooo....don't think I should do that.
Show me a picture of your favorite shoes.
Awesome, I'll bet you look amazing in them.
Let's talk about Missing Home.
Oh, I'd love to. It's tag line is:
A 21st century battle between good and evil.
When Dr. Jared Johnson's research project collapses, so does he. He tosses the federal funding rejection letter in his office wastebasket and his plans to marry the love of his life out the window.
The last thing he wants to do is return to his home town, Chandlerville, Kentucky. An unexpected call from his grandmother, a lifelong resident of the small town, convinces him that all things indeed happen for a reason and perhaps this is the right time to reestablish his roots and start anew.
When he arrives--single, with no intent to marry, he's shocked to learn that the town has unanimously approved his pastoral appointment to the newly refurbished 100-year-old Baptist church. Despite his divinity training, Jared never intended to pastor a church—not when his specialty is psychological profiling.
As fate would have it, the evil spirits that begin to permeate the town and its good-hearted citizens shortly after his arrival challenge his technical skills, experience and community relationships. To complicate matters, a local angel finds herself in the eye of the storm causing Jared to re-evaluate his past and question his future.
