ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
LYNNE: Quite often. Most recently I read a book by Karen White, The Time Between, where I got swept away to South Carolina and the beach.
I also often get lost in my own story as I write. I love those moments where I am totally in the zone. That definitely happened while writing Sweet Home Montana.
ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
LYNNE: Wade Conrad is a self-made man, having started his own company from scratch with another computer geek. By staying married to the job, he has made his first million. Of course it has cost him on the personal level. I also love how Wade learns to forgive in this book. It takes a big person to admit they’ve been hanging on to anger, to finally release it, and honestly move on. That was necessary for him to do, so could open his heart to Erin.
ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
LYNNE: The Last of the Mohicans (you know why!)
ANGI: Salad or soup?
LYNNE: Soup, homemade, if possible. If not, I love the clam chowder from our local seafood restaurant. It’s the best on the west coast, as far as I’m concerned. Of course, there’s nothing like clam chow-dah in Massachusetts and Maine. (Where my husband is from)
ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
LYNNE: Champagne, please. I love how it tickles my nose.
ANGI: Geek or Jock?
LYNNE: Hybrid. A bit of both? I like to think I’m a jock, but I’m way past that stage in life. I now walk daily for fitness and to get those dang 10,000 steps! I’ve never been a first-rate geek anyway, but I do get engrossed in the oddest things.
ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
LYNNE: It might not sound daring to some, but for me, a person who doesn’t necessarily have a fear of heights but definitely has a fear of falling, I have ziplined. Twice! Once in Kauai – who could resist those gorgeous views, which were gratefully distracting while I zipped high above them. The second time was in Whistler, BC. Wow, that was amazing because the first snow had fallen and we ziplined over the forest with the white capped firs beneath. The true sound of silence, other than the whir of the zip line. I’ll never forget it as long as I live.
ANGI’s GOTTA ASK: Where is your favorite writing place & why?
LYNNE’S GOTTA ANSWER: I am not able to write in public or on airplanes, and it is very hard to write in hotel rooms, too. So my favorite place to write, is my office. The day I retired from my 26 years as an RN, I ordered a desk which my husband put together for me. See picture. I love my office. I’ve written all my books at that desk, though the computers have changed a few times. It’s my special place.

ReplyDeleteI can understand that. Though, I will say, whenever I write a trilogy, each book is good to read as a standalone. It's just whether or not the reader wants to invest in the characters introduced in the first or second books or not. Thanks for reading the blog, and I hope you entered the Rafflecopter contest. ;)
DeleteI love trilogies and series. I read stand alone books but then I want to go back to that place and those people. I just love seeing how people are connected by love, family and place.
