ELLE JAMES

THUNDER HORSE HERITAGE

She'd been his wife for barely a day and now FBI agent Tuck Thunder Horse was responsible for identifying her body.

So he was more than shocked when Julia Anderson turned up very much alive—and on the run. Julia confessed to witnessing a murder and now needs Tuck to help her stay alive…and protect the baby he hadn't known she'd had.

Julia and Tuck's marriage might not have lasted, but there was no time for recriminations with a killer on their trail. As Tuck struggles to put their painful past behind them, he can't help but find himself overwhelmed by his love for his little daughter…and his still-burning passion for Julia. Unable to trust anyone but each other, they know working together is the only way to safeguard their child. Could their one-day marriage turn into a lifelong adventure?

ELLE JAMES QUICK FACTS:
  • published 22 books with Harlequin with another 7 in the works.
  • as Myla Jackson, she's published another 42 stories.
  • began writing in  2000 with her sister Delilah Devlin
  • hometown or favorite city: Northwest Arkansas
  • ice cream or cake? definitely ice cream - Rocky Road to be exact. It's sweet, cool heaven!
  • hiking or biking? Biking! Spent some time biking in Whistler BC this summer, caught a couple of bears doing it in the woods. LOL.
Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
ELLE: My father is the hero in my life. He was one of 19 children, raised dirt-poor on a cotton farm in south Arkansas. He joined the military and served during the Vietnam War, risking his life and sacrificing time with his family to serve a greater cause. He built a life for himself and his family working hard all his life so that we would not suffer. He's a wonderful man and I'm very proud of to call him Dad.

What or who inspired the hero for THUNDER HORSE HERITAGE?
ELLE: I wanted a man who loved his family and would do anything for them, including his newly discovered baby daughter. I loved seeing his shock and the growth of his for the child he and her mother whom he'd loved on first sight.

Is there a hero you’re just dying to write about for Intrigue?
ELLE: I haven't contracted for the last of the Thunder Horse Brothers, Dante. He's the darkest of the brothers and needs his own story. I hope to write that for 2014.

What’s your favorite way you’ve killed someone (in your books of course)?
ELLE: I blew up my hero in an explosion in a foreign embassy. Of course it just looked like he died in the explosion. But he'd escaped to come back incognito to discover who was responsible. Don't you love it?

What’s your favorite thing about the Harlequin Party?
ELLE: The beautiful places they have it, dressing up and the people we get to visit and dance with. It's a magical night of fun and laughter and getting together with old friends.

Where are some unusual places your characters have ‘made out’?
ELLE: In a closet, in caves, on horseback.

GOTTA ASK: If you had to choose a movie to describe THUNDER HORSE HERITAGE, which would it be?
ELLE’S GOTTA ANSWER:   That's a toughie. It might be like another 007 movie with a tough, but tender guy like Daniel Craig who looks more like a Lakota Indian.
