As he battles the bittersweet love that grows between them, Bane’s mission will take Lydia away from everything—and everyone—she ever held dear.

THE WEDDING DRESS
Rachel Hauck
Four brides. One Dress.

A tale of faith, redemption, and timeless love.

Charlotte owns a chic Birmingham bridal boutique. Dressing brides for their big day is her gift . . . and her passion. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress…or feel certain she should marry Tim?
Thomas Nelson, Inc.
Ami McConnell, editor

Then Charlotte discovers a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new—shimmering with pearls and satin, hand-stitched and  timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Who welded the lock shut and tucked the dog tags in that little sachet? Who left it in the basement for a ten-year-old girl? And what about the mysterious man in the purple vest who insists the dress had been “redeemed.”

Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history—and its new bride—begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress. Emily from 1912. Mary Grace from 1939. Hillary from 1968. Each with her own story of promise, pain, and destiny. And each with something unique to share. For woven within the threads of the beautiful hundred-year-old gown is the truth about Charlotte’s heritage, the power of courage and faith, and the timeless beauty of finding true love.

  4. Thanks very much, Angi, for featuring the inspirational romance RITA nominees today! I'm so excited to have had a book final in the RITA and am currently trying to figure out what in the world to pack for the conference. Can't wait to get to Atlanta!

  5. If these 8 books are the nominees in Inspirational Romance category, I'd hate to have to be one of the ones choosing the finalists -- OR the winner. Every one of these sounds delightful! I'm sorry to say I haven't read any of them yet, altho I have read others by some of these authors. I do intend to find and read these.

My favorite inspirational movie? Well, It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart is an all-time favorite. But a more recent on would be The Vow with Channing Tatum.

  7. Congrats to all of the nominees! My favourite inspirational movies are Lean On Me, Sister Act, The Blind Side... Actually I'll stop there or I could go on all night since I haven't seen an inspirational movie that I love. I call them my 'feel good' movies, especially when the 'nobodies' succeed past everyone's expectations.

  11. Oh, I love this glimpse at all these beautiful books! Missy, Spencer's Mountain is the original name for "Walton's Mountain". The story was written by Earl Hamner Jr. (Yes, I'm a Walton's Mountain kind of geek who also loves Sci fi and fantasy!!!) and his original story was Spencer's Mountain....

I love a beautiful story of overcoming hard times.

My fave inspy movies are Saint Maybe and Remember the Titans.

    Love them both.

  12. A couple that come to mind are Groundhog Day and Scrooged....both about people trying to get it right in their life and full of humor at the same time.
Thanks for showing us all the finalist.
