THE STORY BLURB
Everyone has secrets. Some are stranger than others.
Madison Albi is a scientist with a very special talent –
for reading minds. When she stumbles across a homeless man with whom she feels
an inexplicable connection, she can’t resist the dangerous impulse to use her
skills to help him.
J is a non-person – a vagrant who can’t even remember his
own name. He’s got no hope, until he meets Madison. Is she the one woman who
can restore his past?
Madison agrees to help J recover his memory, but as she
delves deeper into his mind, it soon becomes clear that some secrets are better
off staying hidden.
Is J really the man Madison believes him to be?
AND NOW FOR THE INTERROGATION....
ALEXA: How often do you get lost in a story?
EVONNE: Always. I am a compulsive reader and get nervous if I do not have a book in hand and another lining up on the runway. When I’m not reading I’m planning my own stories – I’m currently thinking about an idea involving SPIDERS – you can tell I write romantic suspense. That book will be set mostly in London. I’m asking my own question later about readers’ favorite locations – I really want to know where everyone likes books to be set.
ALEXA: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
EVONNE: I tend towards action adventure – especially anything involving a hero with a dark secret in his past. But I also like the girlie stuff in Cinderella – the coach, the dress, the ball, the glass slippers…
ALEXA: What sound or noise do you love?
EVONNE: The sound of the ocean, and seagulls. I live near the sea, and I like to walk there. The sound of waves on the shore is one of my all time favorite things.
ALEXA: Oh, I hear you about the sound of the ocean. I so miss that! Who's your favorite villain?
EVONNE: Alan Rickman in Die Hard – or as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Brilliant. He’s one of my top ten actors. If I can get to see him on stage, that’s even better.
ALEXA: LOVED him as the Sheriff! How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?
EVONNE: Terrible. But someone has to do it or we romance lovers would have nothing to read. I’m eternally grateful that so many brave authors put themselves through all that turmoil and tension, just so we have stories to enjoy.
ALEXA: Which of your characters would you most like to invite to dinner?
EVONNE: I think that would be Suzanne from my first book, Never Coming Home. She is my heroine’s mother, a very glamorous ex model and artist’s muse, who used to be a bit bohemian when she was young – a flower child from the 1960s. I know she has an interesting story to tell and would be good company.
ALEXA: Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?
EVONNE: Being a Brit, it has to be tea. Milk, no sugar. I have a weakness for chai tea, which has spices mixed into it. I also drink green tea and herbal teas – no milk in them though.
ALEXA: I’m right there with you and the tea with milk. I might have to go make a cup after this interview! If you were a t-shirt, what color would you be and why?
EVONNE: My drawers are full of classic white t-shirts and a few other neutrals - black, grey, beige. But at the bottom is a beautiful raspberry pink one that I wear when the weather is very warm. That does not happen a lot in Wales. The color definitely says something about me, but I haven’t worked out what. I have a lipstick to match it too.
ALEXA: Thanks so much for joining us today, Evonne, and sharing a bit of yourself and your writing with us. Folks, have a peek at her question below and please leave a comment! I'm interested in your answers as well! PLUS.....1 commenter will win a copy of Evonne's debut novel, Never Coming Home!
EVONNE’S QUESTION FOR READERS
Living in Wales, I write romantic suspense that is mostly set in
Europe. I’d like to know what your
favorite location is for a book, and why?
