COWBOYS & CHRISTMAS ...The Perfect Combination

COWBOYS FOR CHRISTMAS
3 cowboys…2 weeks…1 wedding!

Three all-new stories by Kim Law, Terri Osburn, and Liz Talley

Claire, Georgia, and Mary Catherine couldn’t be more different, but they promised they would be there for one another no matter what. And when they all gather in Holly Hills, Texas, for Mary Catherine’s Christmas wedding, they’ll find they have one thing in common: hearts that are about to be branded—by unforgettable cowboys.

In “Love Me, Cowboy” by Terri Osburn, wallflower Claire would be more excited about the wedding if it didn’t mean running into Mary Catherine’s brother—the bull rider she once had a scorching one-night stand with…

Ivy League volleyball coach Georgia never wanted to see Holly Hills—or another cowboy—again. But a sexy veterinarian is making her rethink her vow to never marry a Texas man in “Kiss Me, Cowboy” by Liz Talley.

Claire and Georgia both think that Mary Catherine is getting hitched to the wrong man, despite how perfect he is. And in “Marry Me, Cowboy” by Kim Law, a local rancher with a wild reputation gives Mary Catherine a glimpse of what might have been—and what could still be…
READ a little, BUY the book

ANGI: Working on an anthology takes cooperation. But I bet each of these authors has her own opinion about COWBOYS. Let's find out . . .

The first thing I notice about a cowboy is his . . .
AMY: hat. Seriously that’s how I usually know he is, indeed, a cowboy.
KIM: That there aren’t enough cowboys in my life!  And his jeans…and stuff. Cowboys sure do know how to fill out a nice pair of dusty jeans.
TERRI: It's a toss-up between his hat and his belt buckle. Anyone who knows a real cowboy knows they wear belt buckles that are roughly the size of dinner plate.

Cowboys have a distinct . . .
AMY: walk. I love their walk, aka amble. It says I ride a horse, I’m wearing boots, and I’m doing things my way.
KIM: Manliness about them. They’re just so male.
TERRI: Smell. 

My cowboy always wears his boots . . .
AMY: When he’s helping to deliver a foal or calf. Yeah, you definitely want your boots on for that 
KIM: *snort* I think you’re trying to lead me into naughty territory!
TERRI: Until he comes in the door? Seriously. Those things are not trampling through my house.

My favorite characteristic about my Cowboy for Christmas is his . . .
AMY: Tenderness. Reed is exactly what my brash heroine needs. Poor Georgia hides a bruised heart beneath her gruff, smack-talking exterior and needs tenderness in order to show her vulnerability.
KIM: Warm, gooey center.

TERRI: Soft spot for his love, Claire. He'd defend her with his life, but he's sweet and gentle when she's around.

Kim Law is Back with SPRINKLES ON TOP

Sprinkles on Top
A Sugar Springs Novel
Book 3
Montlake Romance

For Holly Marshall, there’s no such thing as a perfect match. That’s reflected in the unpredictable, fun clothing combos the aspiring artist wears around her hometown of Sugar Springs—and in her inability to fit in anywhere else. But when she sets out to prove to her family that she’s ready to grow up by settling down, could she have found her perfect mismatch in a play-by-the-book guy wearing a business suit?

High-powered attorney Zack Winston is a man who always gets what he wants. While Holly wouldn’t mind sampling what Zack so deliciously has to offer, she needs someone who actually plans to stick around—and Zack’s highbrow opinion of small towns suggests he’s not the man for the job. But as the camaraderie of Sugar Springs begins to charm, and Zack’s brothers show what family is all about, Zack and Holly may just get the chance to have it all…if only they’re brave enough to reach out and take it.

KIM LAW is an award-winning author who wrote her first story, "The Gigantic Talking Raisin," in elementary school. Although it was never published, it was enough to whet her appetite for a career in writing. First, however, she would try her hand at a few other passions: baton twirling, softball, and music, to name a few. Voted "Bookworm" and "Most Likely to Succeed" in high school, she went on to earn a college degree in mathematics.

Law spent years working as a computer programmer and raising her son, and she now devotes her time and energy to writing romance novels (none of which feature talking raisins).

~ ~ ~

ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
KIM: Not nearly often enough! I try to listen to books any time I’m in the car or while I’m walking or doing household chores, but that’s been it for a while. Though I am working hard to work reading time back into my schedule! The problem is, when I do get lost in a story, I don’t want to put it down until I’m finished!!

ANGI: What’s your favorite “love” word?
KIM: Love word? Hmmm… Well, it’s certainly not “journey,” I can tell you that. I watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Do you have any idea how many times those people say “journey” throughout the season!! I’m sure it’s a drinking game somewhere. If not, it should be. (They’ve even started saying it on Dancing with the Stars!!! *sigh*)

ANGI: What's your favorite thing about the heroine of SPRINKLES ON TOP?
KIM: That’s easy! Holly’s choice of shoes, clothing, and even makeup shows that she wants to stand out and be unique—even if it lands her the title of “quirky.” She wants to be her and not anyone else, and she doesn’t care what anyone might think about that!

ANGI: What's your favorite thing about the hero of SPRINKLES ON TOP?
KIM: That he has such a soft center J

ANGI: Will there be more Sugar Springs novels?
KIM: I’m not sure yet, but there are a few bachelors in the town readers have told me need their own stories. And I agree. So I hope so!

ANGI: What's your favorite thing about summer?
KIM: Memories of childhood. Even though summers as an adult may not be a “freeing” as they were as a child, they often feel as if they are. Long day, lazy moments on the porch swing, watching the kids play ball and run around the neighborhood. There’s something about having our own memories from childhood that I believe reminds us to slow down and appreciate the days a bit more.

ANGI: What is your favorite topping for a cupcake?
KIM: Sadly, I prefer no topping to a cupcake. I just want the cake!

ANGI: Are you looking forward to the return of a particular television show?
KIM: Ohmygodyes! I just binge-watched all three seasons of Scandal and I couldn’t get enough! I’m now desperate for it to come back on. And the bad thing is, the night it returns, I’ll be on a roadtrip!!! I might have to be settled in for the night and shush everyone else just so I can watch.

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Without any spoilers, what's your favorite scene from the Sugar Springs novels?

KIM'S GOTTA ANSWER: Oh, this is tough! And I always struggle with favorites! But I do have some scenes I really love in the series. There’s this one scene in Sprinkles on Top that just gets me in the gut every time. Holly and Zack have “escaped” movie night at the park (where the entire population of Sugar Springs currently is, and they were all watching the two of them). They go for a drive together and end up parked in his convertible and looking across the river at the town. It’s dark, there are stars in the sky, and up to this point these two have barely had a civilized conversation. (She only went in the car with him then because she was desperate to get away from the town busybodies.) But as the two of them sit there, it becomes clear that she sees behind his shell, and he sees behind hers. And that there is something much deeper to both of them then what they ever share with others. You see their friendship start to form in this scene, and you understand that it begins with a real bond. A connection. I love it.

A LITTLE ABOUT KIM
ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
KIM: I know this isn’t the first book because I remember reading much younger than this, but in my early teens (probably pre-teen), I read a book called Deenie, by Judy Blume. It was about a girl with scoliosis who has to wear a body brace. There was also young love in that book. I LOVED that story with a passion, and I remember knowing, even then, that I wanted to be able to write stories that could make people feel as much as I did while reading that book.

Oh…and I just remembered what was probably my first book. The Three Bears. My grandmother used to read it to me all the time, and years before I could read, I could recite it word for word. I still have that copy of the book. It’s sewn together from where it fell apart years ago.

ANGI: What do you like about the hero of your book?
KIM: I love that he’s a fully devoted dad. It gives him a tender spot that you don’t necessarily see when you first meet him, but everything he does is done with his daughter in mind.

ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
KIM: Not nearly often enough!!! I read while lying in bed, or in the recliner while watching TV. Or sometimes out on my deck. Or grocery store lines, while waiting to get the oil changed, or at doctor’s offices. Basically, anywhere I can steal a minute. And if you can’t guess, I’m so thrilled for eReaders! I can whip out my phone while bored in any line and get lost in a story!

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
KIM: Ha! I haven’t thought about this in years, but when I was growing up, it was either Popeye or Winnie the Pooh. I loved to watch Popeye, but I loved Winnie the Pooh coloring books >>grin<<  These days? I’d have to say Merida from Brave. That chick kicks butt!

ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
KIM: Love? What about hate? Can I talk about that? Because I hate repetitive noises. Coughing, dogs barking, someone clicking a pen. Those kinds of things. If I was prone to seizures, I swear they would send me into one every time.
ANGI: I completely and totally get this !!!!!!!

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
KIM: Fairy Tale >>grin<<  With a happily ever after, of course!

ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
KIM: The Gigantic Talking Raisin >>>grin<<< I was eleven. And I wrote several stories at that age. The Jumping Socks is another that I remember. I even submitted them to the Highlights magazine. I just knew they would be published! But…no. *sigh*

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
KIM: Easy. Pretty Woman. I’m a total romantic at heart and that movie will catch my attention every single time I see it on.
ANGI: What is your biggest vice?
KIM: Procrastination. It’s going to eventually give me a heart attack if I don’t beat it!

ANGI: How is it working with hot guys and sexy women all day?
KIM: Ha! How do you think? What could be wrong with hot guys, and pretending you’re the sexy woman who has him? Love. It!!!

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: I noticed on your website that you were an all-star softball player in High School. I only played as an adult, but my daughter pitched four years on her HS team. Man, do we have stories… What position did you play and is there one particular game you remember?

KIM'S GOTTA ANSWER:   OK, I need to fix that. It flubbed up a reporter from my hometown newspaper too. I didn’t actually play on the high school team. I played softball on one of the local teams—while I was in high school. And I was (for many years) on the all-star team that was chosen at the end of each season. Mostly we played other local teams, but there was a season or two that we traveled around and played other high-level teams in the region. And as far as what position (like I can remember back that far!), I changed up every year. But it was almost always infield. I pitched some, but mostly I’d play one of the bases.
