Welcome back Jane Godman

COLTON AND THE SINGLE MOM
The Coltons of Red Ridge

This Colton cop falls for
a ready-made family

A serial killer is on the loose, and true-crime filmmaker Esmée da Costa is on the case. K-9 cop Brayden Colton, the prime suspect’s half-brother, works hard to stop her prying, but sparks fly as he falls for Esmée and her son. When Esmée and Brayden’s little family comes under siege, can they save all they love?

JANE GODMAN worked in a variety of shops, bars, and offices before settling into a career as a teacher. She was born in Scotland and has lived in Germany, Wales, Malta, South Africa, and England. Home is now the Wirral, a beautiful English peninsula situated between Wales and Liverpool.

Jane still gets the urge to travel, although these days she tends to head for a Spanish beach, or a European city that is steeped in history. Venice, Dubrovnik, and Vienna are among her favorites.

When she isn’t reading or writing romance, Jane enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. She is married to a lovely man, has two grown up children and has recently discovered the joy of becoming a grandparent.

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
JANE: All the time! I’m so lucky. I can lose myself in my own stories as well as other people’s. There are never enough hours in the day for me when it comes to reading (and writing). But now and then real life intrudes…

ANGI: What’s your favorite thing about your book’s hero?
JANE: His loyalty to his family. He and his brother and sisters didn’t have the greatest start in life, but, when they are thrown into a situation that tests them, they come through for each other. I also love his sense of humor. He’s quite a serious person but, when he meets the heroine, we see his fun side.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
JANE: I love old, black-and-white movies and my all-time favorite is Notorious starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. The kiss scene on the balcony is swoonworthy!

ANGI: What’s your perfect day?
JANE: Any day I spend with my family, especially my gorgeous new grandsons.

ANGI: Salad or soup?
JANE: Salad. That’s not as virtuous as it sounds. I love creamy dressings!

ANGI: Would you put yourself in a Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
JANE: Fairy Tale. Give me a sparkly dress and a handsome prince every time.

ANGI: Favorite TV rerun you watch every time you channel surf?
JANE: I live in the UK. It would be a sitcom like Gavin and Stacey or Friends.

ANGI: Favorite date night…fancy or at home?
JANE: Fancy. A nice meal in a favorite restaurant.

ANGI: Champagne or Soda?
JANE: Soda. I like the idea of champagne but not the taste!

ANGI: Geek or Jock?
JANE: Geek. You’ll find me with my nose in a book not on the playing field.

ANGI: The most daring thing you’ve ever done… Care to share?
JANE: I’m the least daring person you will ever meet! I guess it would be the time when I was teaching and we took a group of children kayaking. The lake was perfectly calm when we set out, but the wind came up from nowhere. It was my first time in a kayak, and suddenly, I was forced to capsize and go to the rescue of my pupils in the middle of a freezing lake. I was terrified, but we dragged them all to safety. I’ve never been kayaking again!

ANGI’s GOTTA ASK:  Where is your favorite writing space & why?
JANE’S GOTTA ANSWER: I write anywhere I can take my laptop, but my favorite place is overlooking my garden. I love watching the changing seasons, and the birds who pay me a visit. Although this picture was taken on a typically rainy English day when the wildlife was all staying away!

Harlequin Romantic Suspense Author, Jane Godman!

WELCOME Jane Godman, a first-time guest and multi-published author!  Jane's heart-stopping new miniseries is Sons of Stillwater, where no one is who they seem…

Coincidence? The beauty who washes up on Mayor Cameron Delaney's private beach eerily resembles his dead girlfriend, Carla. But Laurie Carter, Carla's lookalike cousin, is actually an undercover detective. She's on the job, investigating Cameron's connection to a human-trafficking ring. Laurie knows she must keep her cover—but she's struggling to deceive the man she finds irresistible…

When Cameron discovers why Laurie is in town, he's furious to realize he's being framed—and stunned at his sudden feelings for the lovely agent. But as they uncover the traffickers, a savage serial killer targets Laurie. Can Cameron save the life of the woman he's come to care for…and unmask the threat haunting his family and Stillwater?

Jan Schliesman: Do you ever get lost in your own stories?
Jane Godman: All the time! I often wonder if the people around me in the grocery store know I’m not really deciding on what brand of cereal to buy. If they knew I was deciding whether stabbing or shooting would be the best way to take out a six-foot, musclebound stalker, they might just take a detour around me!

Jan: Name three things on your desk right now.
Jane: My laptop. I couldn’t survive without it. It’s slowing down a bit now and I should really think about getting a new one, but I can’t face the headache of transferring everything across. My cup of tea. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but, being English, I’ll fight you like a tiger if you try and take my cuppa away. Finally, at the moment, the third thing is my grandson! He’s sixteen months old and he’ll climb anything. I guess I’m not going to get much work done right now…

Jan: Do you struggle to find fresh ideas or do they come naturally?
Jane: My problem is trying to stop the ideas! I need to slow down and focus. I have so many things I want to work on at once, but I really have to discipline myself to make sure I meet the deadlines I’ve set. I try and set myself a word count goal each day. If I meet it, my reward is to be able to spend time on something new.

Jan: What do you love most about your latest release?
Jane: Can I say everything? I love the setting. Stillwater, Wyoming is a fictional town. It’s the sort of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Or do they? But when a stranger comes to town who is the mirror image of the mayor’s dead girlfriend…well, that gives the gossips plenty to talk about. That’s another thing I love about the story. Because Laurie, the heroine isn’t there by accident. She’s using her likeness to Cameron’s dead girlfriend for a reason. And that breakdown in trust between them right at the start was something I really enjoyed exploring and bring to life on the page.

Jan: What are you currently reading?
Jane: The Moth Catcher by Anne Cleeves. I love her books. She has a way with words and sets the scene so beautifully, plus the stories are so well crafted.

Jan: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Jane: I really do, and not just in my books. It’s never happened to me, but I think love comes in many forms. It can grow out of friendship and build over time, or it really can be that hit-you-between-the-eyes feeling that comes out of nowhere. I don’t believe one is better than the other, or lasts longer. All love stories are unique and comparing them is like trying to compare snowflakes.

Jan: If you had the skills to be in any other profession, what would it be?
Jane: Well, I was a teacher for most of my adult life and now I’m a writer. I’d have loved the chance to have been an artist. Aside from the fact that I have no talent, I’m not really sure what’s stopping me!

Jan: Best vacation you’ve ever taken?
Jane: A cruise around the Mediterranean and the Adriatic. It was wonderfully laid back but we also visited some wonderful places, including Venice, Athens and Santorini.

Jan’s GOTTA ASK: My hubby works for Tombstone/DiGiorno. What do you like on your pizza?

Jane’s GOTTA ANSWER: LOTS of pepperoni.
